The lady said she needed to go to the back to find the he paper work and would call back. As I didn't believe her due to her trying to rush me off the phone... I said I'll also follow up when I come in. She was suppose to call back Saturday. I went on Sunday. Nothing was corrected. The paper was in the binder, at the front desk. Now I have to wait for it to be corrected by some customer rep that don't work wkns. Now I have to take it a step further and block payments from my bank - in case they fail to do their job. Canceling shouldn't be this complicated. And I had plan to come back. Just having some medical issues but yeah, I won't.

The real issue is management and how they handle customers. I initially came in to use a 5 day pass. I was told it had to be used on five consecutive days, which was not clearly explained upfront. After using just one day, I was denied entry unless I paid for a day pass that was quoted around $40-$50. That pricing is unreasonable, especially when other gyms offer full monthly memberships for far less. The facility itself is overcrowded, equipment is frequently dirty or out of service, and the overall environment feels poorly maintained. The biggest problem, though, is how memberships are handled: * I was signed into a month to month plan without clear explanation or consent * I ended up paying around $200 total without even properly using the gym * This included: * Monthly dues * An unexpected annual fee ($60) * When I submitted my cancellation on March 31, I was told I still had to pay for the entire month of April due to a 30 day notice policy, even though the next billing cycle hadn't started That already felt excessive, but it got worse. When I canceled, the manager asked for my reason, which I clearly explained: * Poor communication * Misleading membership explanation * Lack of transparency However, the receipt I received listed my reason as: "Member does not use the gym" That is completely inaccurate and not what I said. Something that drew me to change gyms. I didn't care for the rows and rows of equipment that looked like a big warehouse. I participated in one Zoomba class that I felt could have had some low impact options. It was good and got the heart rate up. My sneakers kept sticking to the floor and it was difficult to slide side to side in some of the movements. Definitely a lot of jumping. Soon after, I signed up for personal training, feeling that this was the answer to continuous weekly exercise that would hold me accountable. The only issue is that I do have medical limitations and with that being said, my trainer, Savannah, made sure that she was always checking in with me to be sure I wasn't experiencing any pain. She really is an EXCELLENT trainer. Without going into all the details of all my health issues, I found I needed to take a break and heal. We did a 30-day freeze so that I could take some time to get better. Unfortunately that didn't happen and was told in order to cancel my $240/mo training cost I needed a true doctor's note or else I would be forced to give a 30-day notice to cancel. This is EXACTLY what Mr. Collins said to me. I immediately went to my doctor and paid my co-pay, and walked out with a treatment plan for PT and my note to the gym. I directly left the doctor's office and went straight to the gym to give them my note. The manager was NO WHERE to be found. I waited patiently and then was told they would take care of it and contact me. Meanwhile, I'm in contact with my trainer and she is telling me that she will follow up with the manager. I know that she was following up with him and he was dragging his feet on it. I have the text messages. Come Aug 6, I see a charge on my account. They charged me after I had given my doctor's note to cancel. Now Mr. Collins is calling me telling me that unfortunately because my doctor's note doesn't give a date to return to my training, that it is unacceptable. They are keeping my money and I will be canceled at the end of the 30-days. But I can still have my training sessions! Or! I can be reimbursed and charged again next month and continue my sessions. What kind of sense does that make when you have a note from your doctor that says you can't? At this point, I want a divorce from this whole program. I refuse to ever have anything to do with this business. They say one thing, and then lie so they can get one more payment out of you. What a scam. My advice, go somewhere else.

So this is one of your smaller more 24/7 local gyms. Meant to come in work out and be a minute or two from home. I try to walk the 3 miles too and from my house in the alamo ranch area. You get a little rfid tag to get in, I wish they had an app so all I would have to bring would be my phone. But I'm just being picky. Just don't step outside, forget your card inside, and get locked out! Did that one night, had to wait an hour till someone else showed up so I could get my car keys doh! I think the only negative I have for this place is the small changing room/Bathroom. There is a shower and a stall for the toilet. With a small bench to change on. The door is right next to the bench so your either changing in the shower or in the toilet stall. Which isn't bad, just wish there were lockers to lock my stuff up in. They do have cubby boxes up front so that you feel like your in kindergarten again. They are right up front so at least you get the better set of mind that the person at the door will be watching over your stuff.

Being a garage gym guy I needed to see how I would fare in the daily competitive environment that boxes offer (you just can't get that working out alone or with one friend most of the time). While I have nothing negative to say about any of the gyms I dropped into, I do have much to rave about when it comes to CFL. Facility and equipment: Pretty straightforward here. They have all the equipment you need for a CrossFit gym. They have it and they have a lot of it. You won't be sharing bars or looking for space on a wall, blah, blah.. The facility itself is quite large and this is important when it comes to safety with large groups and the intense nature of CF workouts. Let me add that I've witnessed regular cleaning and maintenance of this facility and equipment. Oh, and there are 4 restroom/showers, a kids room, a separate kitchen area, and an entirely separate room where I would hide when I just wanted to do my own thing and avoid the hard work (thank you Jason). Parking is plentiful. Programming: Never had a bad thing to say about the programming. I am a Physical Therapist (selfless plug) and although I do not adhere to smart practices all the time, I can confidently say that programming here is competent enough that risk from overuse, or consecutive days of doing the same thing, just wasn't present. There was always a dynamic warm up that was relevant to the metcon and just enough strength and skill work to keep you maintained (if you want to be better then you def have to do more but most gyms will tell you that anyway). There is a ton more that I can add however I'm halfway through writing a novel now and I have a few more items to touch on. Coaches: Loved 'em all. Responsible and approachable. I'd say I made some of my best friends at this gym (not biased at all). If you've been part of a box before, you know there is always turnover in this area but I would argue that this is a good thing. New opinions and new flavors help growth. Owners: Jason is a motivator. You'll hate him, you'll love him, whatever. He won't let you quit without a push. He will help you find a new you. He didn't help me because I avoided him most of the time (I'm lazy, and arrogant). In all seriousness, I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am to have met Jason and his family, so I won't. I came to this studio during a trip and was greeted and helped by the front desk staff. The workout was awesome, the equipment was clean and the coaches (I took different classes at different times on different days) were phenomenal. I'm very particular about how I spend my time and this is the place to be to improve your health, cardio and strength all at the same time.

If you're looking to start your kid out in a league where they don't trash talk, they develop your child self-respect, skills, and build them into good moral characters for sports. This is the place for your kids. The leagues are not highly competitive. The coaches don't jar at each other like they're trying to win a championship. But they are still competitive. Of course, I am a little biased because I have coached the basketball teams between the ages of five and 10. The thing I love about the nine-year-old and 10-year-old division for basketball is a play at a local church. That's a much bigger gym, if you have homeschool kids like me, they get a good feel for what it's like to play if they were to go to high school. My kids have played flag football there and basketball there and really enjoyed just the camaraderie and getting out and getting some exercise.
