This spot is a Class act from the get go! We were in Woodinville for Business. Needless to say the Best business we did while in town was stop by this wonderful spot tucked away in a strip mall. Comes across as a nice little liquor store, I bought liquor here in the past. However, now beware the tiny but rather heavy steel-framed toddler chair that the owner placed right in the middle of the pathway - this is not safe. The chair is so tiny you will not see it if you walk along the pathway while looking at wine shelves. So, when I bumped into it, it was a total surprise, and hurt a lot - I nearly fell over it. So, just watch out for physical safety at this place. That is not to mention that it is not entirely clear why toddlers would be brought to a liquor store and accommodated there. read more

We were visiting from out of town (Las Vegas) and we came here to get a bottle of liquor for the weekend. The selection here is great and prices are reasonable for a liquor store out of a large market. The only thing we weren't a fan of was our experience with the one employee working here. He was on the phone and having a shouting match with someone (unknown if a customer) for a majority of the time we were in the store. When he helped other customers, he got the job done but did not go above and beyond for anything and he was not personable at all. This is a good store to come to though. read more

Stopped by today for a crapshoot chance of finding an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof that's been almost non-existent at several Total Wines and amazingly found one left as well as some others rarities I didn't think I'd encounter such as E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof & Lagavulin 12 y.o. Cask Strength. I even heard the owner talking to another guest about several vintages of Quilceda Creek Cabernets they had on the shelf which was a unicorn wine I gave up searching for years ago when I was more into wine. So this place definitely does have some rare bottles for several categories of alcohol. When I was ready to check out with my Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch C919, the owner was kind enough to even inform me he had a stash of A120s and opened a box just to inform me of an alternative option. Talk about going the extra mile for a customer! The owner was very cordial and gave me space to browse at my own pace while also offering information on various bottles he had, has, and potentially will have. The store also was immaculate and well designed with a white oak theme. It was easy to spot top shelf bottles as they were literally located on the top shelf. There was ample space to comfortably walk down the aisles in the store. This is my first Yelp review as I was so impressed by my experience in the store. This place doesn't look very large from the outside, but it's very packed inside. It had everything I was looking for, things I didn't know I wanted, and was super-well organized. It's got a flow to it that made it quite easy to find what I was looking for. In two words: Selection. Service. I stopped in on my birthday after grabbing dinner next door. I had no idea what I was in for. One of the owners was working and shared his story about how he got the shop started. This is their second location and they are looking to expand. I have never seen a small liquor store loaded with so many unique options. I was also surprised they had taps for growler fills and do liquor tastings on Friday and Saturday evenings. The beer selections were thoughtful and covered any taste preference or need. I have now been at a couple tastings and love that I can learn more about what I do and don't like. I walked out with a bottle of Diplomatico, a rum from Venezuela that has no added sugar and I thoroughly enjoy. Please, please check this place out and share it with your friends. One of the best selections of liquor I've seen on the Eastside. They have a great range of local to imports, inexpensive to high end. There are a few wall fridges of beer, some taps in the back to fill growers, a few shelves of wine and the rest is booze! Whiskey, vodka, burbon, scotch, rum, gin, etc. I spent some time looking at the burbon and scotches. They had a great selection of rare Japanese scotches that made me drool. They also had all the fancy 21 year selections everyone appreciates before they buy a 12 or 18 year option. One thing that I thought was a great feature is the free tastings on Friday and Saturday! They have a few shelves of liquor they offer tastings of. I had a little burbon sip. Great if you like trying new things every once in awhile. Lastly, they are very supportive of local brands. Fantastic selection of alcohol here. Tastings are offered at certain times of the week, so be sure to check ahead. My wife purchased me a delightful Laphroaig from here for my birthday whiskey collection and had a great experience. When we returned the owner/manager/whoever it was working there, was just on their laptop the whole time and could barely peep out a "hi" when we walked in, no other help. I've shopped here at least a dozen times. On the first visit this place exceeded expectations (and then lived up to that new bar every time since). Rather than repeat what all the other 5-star reviewers have already said, I'll tell you what I found memorable. On my first visit, I was surprised to see the large selection available. The proprietor let me sample several varieties of what I was looking for, and was even quick to point out "you can get the same quality for half the price if you try [x] brand." Never once have I felt steered toward the "expensive" or "name" labels. This is the type of customer service that creates a customer for life. I wish more businesses understood this simple axiom. I stopped in on a whim but I'm glad I did. This is a boutique liquor store of the kind that Woodinville needs. They have a wide selection of harder to find and unique liquor products displayed in a beautiful store. They have a small selection of wines, but wisely so because they don't have the space to compete with the wineries. They have a growler station with beer on tap, too. The staff is extremely focused on helping you learn about your drinks and finding things you like. Don't stop here to restock the Jack Daniels or Smirnoff, but I recommend you stop in for a lesson and sample. read more

Four stars for selection, an extra star for service and in depth knowledge. This place has growler taps, a small wine selection, and a really nice array of liquor. I bought a 20-year rum and a 6-year rye today from Proper & Ernest, and was really happy with both the gentlemen I talked to. Pleasant, interested in finding out more about what I like and might want to buy, but not in the least bit pressuring for a sale. The other big plus for this shop is that they offer tastings on Friday and Saturday. We're not talking just the low end price tier either - I tried a very nice 12 year scotch, almost bought it, probably will come back for a bottle at some point. The pricing seems fair, especially considering the quality of the service and the extra benefit of tasting. I thought the beer selection looked good too. Definitely it's my new local go-to for liquor. This place reminds me a bit of the late, great VinElla of Woodinville - brought to us years ago by Steve Body and sadly wiped out in serious flooding. I haven't found a place I like as well since VinElla closed, and it has been quite a few years now. Kudos to Proper & Ernest for a place I'll be happy to browse through and spend money in regularly. (They have a Tacoma location named Liquor and Liquor, but I guess Woodinville needed something more low key, ha.) read more

David, the owner immediately shared with us samples of different spirits of which my partner and I were interested in as well as wonderful beers on tap. Been going here off and on since they opened. The staff always seems to knowledgeable and willing to help. They have a very well curated selection of beer and whiskey/scotch. Wine not so much but that's not why I come here. It's mainly for the beer. They get beers that I can't find anywhere else locally. I could not be any happier to be writing this review. I would give them 10 stars if I could. We stopped in one night on our way to a friends birthday party and were on the hunt for a nice bottle of tequila as a gift. Us both not being drinkers, we really had no idea what to look for, Dave was so knowledgeable and filled us in on different types of tequila, how its made, and much more. He even went as far as letting us tastes some brews, and even some nice liquors he had from some previous tasting sessions they offered earlier in the week. We chatted for about 20 minutes and shared some stories and happily went on our way. We both left with the feeling we went in as strangers, and walked out with a new friend.
