I had an interview or two lined up but for the most part, it was a long, tedious, and rejection filled process. Recruiters and hiring managers aren't exactly crazy about hiring someone who doesn't live in their own city yet, I guess. Enter Accountemps; I've never used a temp agency. I found them through Careerbuilder or HCareers or something like that. I applied for a job that directed me to their website. I wasn't really sure about signing on with a temp-agency because I assumed the pay wouldn't be worth it. My friend convinced me that it's worth a shot and the his experience with temp agencies in the past weren't too bad. Thank goodness I had the sense to listen to him. About a week or two after doing my interview with Stephanie I was placed in a very good sized and well known company here in the desert **ahem ahem** Guthy Renker **ahem**. My pay was about the same as what I was making in Newport Beach, which says a lot if you compare the cost of living. The team at Accountemps followed up with me about two weeks after I started. They really cared about my well being in the job they placed me in. Needless to say, I'm super grateful and I feel very lucky to have signed on with a company that has a very caring and active team.

They requested I went to their seminar and I passed everything necessary for me to continue on with the company and I told them I have full open availability and able to travel anywhere in the IE. I was told I would expect an offer the next day after the seminar and I did not... fast forward a few weeks later there is no communication between me and the company and this is super frustrating cause when you promise someone a job and don't deliver especially after I explained the situation I was in you decide to forget your employees. Moral of the story, if you don't have jobs to offer then don't advertise that you do.
