Each piece was separated, the metal was oiled and wrapped in plastic, brown paper was coiled around individual parts, then extra paper was added to the box so the sword and scabbard would not move at all. I'm surprise so many have had bad experiences, the one time there was an issue with my order 10 years ago the staff went out of their way to make it a good experience (email attached).
