I only recently discovered this as an option when doing some online Christmas shopping. I made two pickup orders, returned something and made an online order to be shipped. Everything at the store was great - no lines, fast service, friendly employees. my cousin took her car there for service whenever it needed an oil change and tires rotated. the tires were never rotated and haven't been for at least 2 times that she was charged for. also the air filter was so bad i can't believe the car was still running like it was. she had alot of repairs done there in the past and now i question if they were done properly and were necessary. i told her not to take her car there for anything. read more

Update; the manager called and apologized for the problem. He explained the policy and indicated that the employee took it to far and should have called a manager. I have shopped at this location three times in the past 4 months. Their prices vary from good to overpriced, but I only go for bird food. Their prices are reasonable and the birds in our backyard seem to like it. The previous times customer service was ok, but not memorable. This time it was very memorable, but not because it was positive. We went for the bird seed and there were two workers unpacking in the aisle. They were so absorbed in their conversation bashing customers, they were unaware my husband and I were trying to get to the bird seed they were standing in front of. We attempted both ends of the aisle without success. We said excuse us , a few times and finally they acknowledged us. They were oblivious to the fact they blocked the aisle and appreciation for customers. Customer service appreciation and training should be reviewed. read more

I requested an appointment for the next day and was offered 2 drop off times for the next day. I dropped it off around 8 am and the mechanic Alexis called a few hours later with a diagnosis and competitive quote. He explained what was necessary and what was recommended. Never had I experienced such a rude customer service representative after today. Employee Marybeth at the customer service at the Elgin location was beyond rude. A day before a snow storm I visited to purchase snow pants for my father whom works outdoors. They fit him big and so I rushed back with my mother to exchange it. I understand the store was closing at 8pm but she was done with my exchange by 8:01pm. I did not even bother to ask her to help me check out for the additional items we gathered and we stepped aside to their self checkout ourselves. During my encounter with Marybeth she made it obvious she was super upset, made faces, made comments and was throwing the snow pants and hanger at the wall. Another employee came up to Marybeth and told her that she needed to get her out of here. Rude to say in-front of clients as well. Marybeth made it clear she did not want to be there much less to be able to help us and to be honest with that kind of attitude she should never be assisting clients. I hope she was just having a bad day and isn't like that with clients everyday but that was beyond unacceptable. read more

I purchased a pair of tires and the road hazard warranty last year. Regretfully I have a nail in the center of one of those tires. I removed it from the van and dropped not off at F&F on Friday around 2 Pm. The van is sitting in my driveway on a jack at the moment. When I dropped it off Friday they assigned me a repair time of 5:15 on Sunday. They close at 6 on Sunday so I guess I need to be standing at the door waiting at 6. While I appreciate F&F for the prices and the quality of products they offer, I find the lack of flexibility in their schedule a little frustrating. I had a flat on My personal car on Thursday. I pulled into the Mobile station at Larkin and Lyle and they had it repaired in 15 minute's. F&F needs to build a little flexibility into their daily schedule to allow for better customer service fir small but important repairs read more

Probably the last honest auto service center on the planet. They came back and told me there was no need for some of the routine service I'd requested. Didn't charge me for them and suggested when I should return. My dealer would have greedily taken my money and probably added a lot more "urgent" service. Great place for car batteries too. I love their bagged candy. Unfortunately except for sales and loss leaders their regular prices are a bit high on general merchandise. Not sure who does the hiring process here but I think they need a new training class. Just left this location looking for an item that the website said they had 5 in stock. I asked an employee for some assistance, he scanned the barcode and verified they have 5 in stock. "I'm sorry I don't know where it's at. You can order online for in store pickup" okay, apparently you have a job where you're supposed to help customers but you turn around and do the opposite. I placed my order online while still in the store. Went to customer service after I checked out with my other items. She also checked the computer "oh yes we have 5 in stock". May I pick it up now so I don't have to make a second trip? Since your employee didn't want to look for the item for me? "So sorry you have to wait". Why do you have special hours for seniors due to Covid19 but do not enforce the wearing of masks in your store? Do not shop here if you care about your health and the safety of others! I have been shopping at Farm and Fleet for over 40 years but I will never go back to their stores again. A full 1/3 of patrons were not wearing masks. I saw people wearing them around their necks and carrying them but only a few were being worn. When I asked an employee, he said it wasn't their responsibility to enforce this practice. Would not recommend their automotive department at all. Would give them zero if I could. Back in November while I was visiting family, I had the brake pads, calipers and rotors replaced at the Freeport, IL location. Well turns out the calipers were bad so they needed to be replaced, since there were still under warranty of course I took the car back to a Farm & Fleet. The Elgin location is close to where I live and Freeport set up an appointment for me and had them replace everything. Dropped my car off on Thursday, Saturday they call saying the part they ordered was damaged so they wouldn't be able to get to it the car till Tuesday. After my complaints fell to a deaf unsympathetic ear and getting hung up on by Elgin I called Freeport. Freeport's manager called Elgin and what do you the missing part magically appeared! It was like a Labor Day miracle. Evidently Elgin did not check with all their contacts for the part, sounds like they didn't check with anyone at all until they were told so by another store. They also kept telling me how busy they were, making me feel like my repairs were an inconvenience or unimportant, although when I picked up the car there wasn't a single car in the garage. Nor was there anyone at the desk, customer service skills are definitely lacking at the Elgin location. read more

Received email that they were processing my order. 1 week later I receive an email, item not available. I called C/S and spoke with Whitney, who spent exorbitant amount of time trying to convince me to purchase another item similar; but not the same price/and all more money. I requested since their Website was incorrect that they should honor same price/like item. She stated she could not do this. I requested she speak to her Supervisor and send me an email with results. Email 4 days later, states her Supervisor would not grant this. I thus returned an email and cc: JANE BLAIN GILBERTSON, CEO of Blaines Farm & Fleet with this exasperating C/S experience. I stated my idea of an equitable solution: 1- honor the same price for similar item, 2-and/or at least waive $20 shipping price. I received an immediate response, Blaines would waive shipping. The same day, received a separate email of "their big Sale, with FREE SHIPPING." This is classic example of Bait and Switch practice. I used to love this store and shop regularly and I would have all of my automotive needs taken care of. Their prices in the past were reasonable and a girl named Rachel was always super friendly and helpful but they must have other people running it or I just came on a bad day? A normal oil change was running regularly around $60 and I always had a $10 off coupon sitting around but this day for some reason my oil change came out to $87. HOW ON EARTH DID IT GO FROM $60 to almost $90!!! I'm glad I saw the receipt before I let them take it in to do the work. Why would I pay them more than what the actual Jeep dealership is charging?! This store has most things you would ever need for home and garden. I did not get a chance to check out the Auto service on this trip. That being said this store does not have the selection of the DeKalb store. And it had a army of employees. Went to find a Carhart shirt in my size. And it was a hunt, all the hangers have a size on them that is easy for the customer to find. But not of the sizes are correct to the shirt, it's all willy-nilly. read more

I grew up on a farm. And we used to go to farm and fleet all the time. This place is much cleaner and better organized than the ones out in farmland. I just love farm and fleet generally. People that are griping about this place to just go to freaking Walmart or target. This is Farm and Fleet. It's for farmers and ranchers and outdoorsy type people. Stop whining. read more

Second time I've been to this location and it will be my last. The store is a mess. Only items that sell regularly are restocked. Everything else is just completely haphazard. There are enough employees wondering around, but they don't seem to know much. Sale items are mis-marked and do not ring up correctly at the register. I would not shop here. I had bought a heated jacket from here for $275.00. it had a small tear that should have been covered under the usual 60day warranty stated on their website. They did not cover the jacket at 40 days for a same item exchange a week after I had received the item for my birthday but instead classified it as a tool and told me I must contact Milwaukee the manufacturer of the coat for.warranty. To make the already bad situation worse an employee named Rich came over from another department and told me "We aren't running a rental department here".
