Cabela's is a great place to find all your hunting, fishing, camping, boating etc... They have a great selection of name brands in every department and have a fun shooting gallery range for kids. There's a wide range of taxidermy animals throughout the store on both floors. If you go upstairs they feature a whole African safari of large game animals!

Service is barely acceptable and the place just seems like it's filled with bad vibes and dead animals. I've only gone to do gun related activities and they are the least customer service oriented place I've been. Not coming back.

The quality of the product they sell here are really high, the prices are affordable compared to other similar stores. We are a member of the Cabela's club When you first walk inside the store on the right side there's a desk and you can sign up for or learn more about it. They gave us two free baseball caps and a duffel bag which we were not even expecting. You can buy tokens at the front desk For the electronic shooting range located on the top floor all the way to the left. You use a laser gun to hit targets to activate mechanical props. It is a lot of fun. There is also a huge fish tank on the first floor and a big mountain display with "stuffed" animals and birds that are fun to look at. If your looking for a gift for someone who loves to fish, camp, hunt, and spend time outdoors this is the place to shop for them!

The holidays are upon us and it's time to take those Santa pictures! Cabela is a good place to go since it's FREE!! You just have to go on the website and reserve your time! When you get there, the line moves fast if there is one. If there is a line, the kids can write to Santa or play with toy logs. There is also a target/shooting game to play with so make sure to bring cash for the tokens. The Santa could've been a little bit more jolly but my kids were still excited and joyful. Afterwards we walked around and took some pics by the displays and small aquarium that they had!

I visited to look at their shoe department for a holiday gift. Don helped me and I could not have nicer things to say about him! He got me a variety of bean boot styles, heights, and sizes to try on to truly see which I liked best. After my research was complete, he found us back in the store to have me try one more boot that had my preferred size, width, height, and was on major sale! He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me. I ended up coming back Sunday and bought the boots! Today she realized that she was missing one of her earrings, so we looked all over the house, but couldn't find it. After thinking about it, she thought that she might have lost it when she tried on the sweater in the fitting room, so she decided to go back to the store to find out if anyone had found it. After looking in the dressing room, she was offered assistance by an employee named Cathy,. After explaining her problem, Cathy told her that someone had found her earring late yesterday afternoon, and that it had been secured for her. We are very grateful for the help from Cathy and whoever else had found her earring! Thank you SO MUCH! John & Jenny

Instead of purchasing online, I decided to stop by & I'm very happy I did. The woman assisting me was so helpful! It's great feeling when you find "the pair" - & in my case, I found two! They're so comfortable & hello - pockets! Also grabbed a good belt which says a lot. I don't like belts but again, I found "the one." I managed to show up during a sale so I felt I got a great deal on my purchases & the brand makes quality products. I adore my backpack I purchased online & now my clothing & accessories. I'll definitely be back for more & thanks so much again for an outstanding experience.

I was hoping to find a bargain but ended up paying full price which is unusual for me. I did find a great deal on a pair of tennis shoes though so I now have two sets of new footwear. If they had more clothing in my size I would have stocked up on those, too. Not to mention the great gear they carry. The staff was friendly and helpful and I helped me feel better about leaving so much money behind.

When we used it in November for the first time everything was fine until we tried to use the handle, after all the clothes filled up the suit case, the handle wouldn't not pull out. We went the entire trip pushing around the suit case without the ability to use the handle. I waited until January and decided to take the suit case back to the store after only using it once. I just wasn't right. The store could do nothing and recommended calling customer service. I called customer service and they asked for the date of purchase, my tjmax credit card number, my name, address, phone number and E-mail address. They said that they would research it and get back to me. 5 days later they got back to me and said since it was past the return policy date they could do nothing. Really! Why didn't they tell me that up front when I provided all that information. What a waste of time! Never did the customer rep. or store say anything regarding the return policy until they decision was made. Now I'm stuck with a suit case with a handle that doesn't work. They just lost a customer and they don't care. I have other choices like Amazon, Costco, Sam's Club or Kohls. Not Sierra!

I got a number of responses and a lot of them were things I didn't even think I would need but found extremely useful. I haven't done a half marathon in almost 10 years and I forgot how important it was to properly fuel myself for endurance runs. These days nutrition and electrolyte tabs aren't cutting it for me anymore. I don't want to hit a wall once I start hitting the 8-10 mile marker so energy gels have been helping me push through with ease and REI has plenty of them. They mostly carry the GU brand and HoneyStinger. I've been trying out flavors and found a couple that I like. REI despite their items being on the pricier side have great selection and quality gear. I was able to get everything I needed in prep for race day. I didn't encounter any issues with staff. It felt more like, "We'll leave you alone unless you need something." I'm totally fine with that. It's an upscale comprehensive sporting goods store with a good amount of items in stock. I was actually impressed with the women's shoe selection. They had more HOKAs in stock compared to Road Runner Sports in Wilmette. I know I could've easily gotten HOKAs online but I'm the type (especially when it comes to apparel and shoes) to want to test items out in person for fit. Had I known they had better availability with more colors in stock, I would've bought my shoes here. REI is granola and you'll need to bring your own bag to shop. They are officially bagless and no longer provide single-use shopping bags at checkout. Parking is easy since it's nestled within a strip mall. I was able to get a spot in front with no issues.
