Even as an adult, going to the orthodontist was not the highest priority but I wasn't to ensure I had a positive experience that I could tell my friends and family about. From the moment you walk in the door, you are immediately created by a friendly reception team with only one agenda... to ensure you feel welcome. The "New Orleans' theme environment adds a fun feeling to the experience with games and music along with local news and other items available to keep you engaged as you wait for yur appointment. The staff remembers your name for ever appointment and as you are escorted to your chair, everyone speaks and says hello because they truly appreciate you as a customer and a part of their business. I can speak from experience with braces, retainers, etc as a kid, everyone wants the orthodontist visit to be painless and fun. The staff makes sure you are comfortable and engaged so even if it is a little painful, you don't notice at all. Every kid I saw there was wearing a smile on their face from the time they arrived to the time they left and that speaks highly of the entire team. Even being escorted to the chair, the best part of my visit was Dr. Hilgers. He greets every patient with a smile and ensures that he gives his personal best service every time. He is very thorough in explaining all procedures and ensure that the the quality of care you receive gets the best results not to mention a beautiful smile. As I left for, each staff member thanked me for visiting their office and made me feel like I couldn't wait for my net visit. By the time I left, I was smiling and wanted to tell all of my co-workers and friends that Dr. Hilgers has the best orthodontic office I have ever experienced and all of their family should have the same experience. SInce then, I have shared my story with people at work and hopefully they will visit soon. I know that reviews are important to the growth of a business but they also give new customers a different perspective on what they may be walking into. Well, I can say by far, Dr. Hilgers Orthodontics is the best in Phoenix and I plan to be a long time customer. I would like to start off with my experience with Dr.Chu. I…read moretook my daughter in for a tooth extraction. A pretty routine procedure. During the extraction, my daughter was saying she could feel the pain of the tooth being pulled. This was after she gave her a couple of shots of Novocain. My daughter was told, "Just bear it a while longer, we're almost done." My daughter was in pain, crying and nearly hysterical with the torture performed on her mouth. Gaby, the tech, was trying to intervene and get Dr. Chu to stop and numb my daughter, but Dr. Chu was not listening to Gaby. Now, after the fact, my daughter cry's in terror whenever a dentist is mentioned. I would like to express my whole hearted gratitude and humble thanks to Dr. Sheena with my daughter's 6 month follow up exam. Her patience and excellent bed side manner was superior! She was able to calm my daughter, for the exam and cleaning and helped restore some trust in her Dentist. She now is comfortable with Dr. Sheena with all of her future dental visits. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sheena for your child, if they are apprehensive or have any fear of going to the dentist. I would also like to mention the superior customer service and professionalism given by Veronica at reception. Her friendly smile and caring attitude always makes you feel welcome. I called and booked a basic cleaning/exam. New patient. 79$ deal. Spoke to them a few times on the phone to confirm date and time. I'm New to the area so still trying to find the perfect match for me. They never mentioned anything about it only being an exam, to see if you qualify for a cleaning. And there is a chance they may not do one. Never mentioned once. I figured having a basic cleaning Shouldn't be an issue since I had a deep scaling and cleaning done 3-4 months ago. They refused to let me get a basic cleaning. They spent an hour and a half doing everything but a cleaning. Basically fishing for any and all things they can charge me for. And trying to fill Me with fear that all other dentists I've gone to don't know what they are doing - yet they are the saving grace and had all the answers to problems, nobody else knew to conquer. Pushing fear about all these new findings. ( that weren't there 4 months ago ) Claiming that a basic cleaning could severely risk my health and well being and they absolutely cannot do one under any circumstance. Even though every other dentist I've ever seen in my entire 49 years of appointments regularly, have been able to perform a basic cleaning with no problem whatsoever. I regularly get cleanings. Never had a cavity. Or major issues. But waited a little longer than I'd hoped to get a deep scaling done. You'd think I was an ex crack head and had major infections to address and it was dangerous for them to proceed. Dentists are horrible these days and it's hard to find really honest ones. They have a quota to meet and they try to add it on to every patient that walks in the door. Pushing unnecessary treatment plans and loads of fear mongering to create never ending reasons for a patient to come back and drop more money. You're better off to find an independent hygienist that doesn't have quotas to meet and can be transparent about what's needed. Lesson learned for the future on my part. There were several opportunities for them to be transparent about the appointment. 2 prior phone calls and in person form signing at the desk. Plus several people in the chair prior to the exam when I again asked and communicated my situation. I was completely ignored and funneled into a hustle session. I made it clear why I was there and what I needed from the start. They chose to be dodgy about communicating- didn't even mention they may not be able to and or weren't gonna do a cleaning - until it was too late for me to cancel and leave. l got duped and walked out with no cleaning done. Just a treatment plan for all new "findings" the "advanced AI" machine locates, that of course magically appeared within 4 months. Didn't have any of these issues within the last year of appointments/scans and X-rays I've had. They are the first dentist in 49 years to not be able to perform a basic cleaning on me. Ridiculous to think I need to get another deep cleaning just under 4 months after I had already had one? Who does that. As if it won't hurt to wait a little longer to let my bank account rest. The next day - the Manager on phone agreed that the team should have communicated to me what the protocol was prior , but took zero accountability for the fact that all 6 people I engaged with prior, chose not to. Any dentist that can't take ownership of their lack of transparency and communications for a new patient and protocols - is sketchy. Honesty will get you everywhere. Scamming people will cost you clientele
