I saw Hilgers was recommended several times in a Facebook group I'm in, so I reached out for my daughter's first dentist appointment. Overall we had a fantastic appointment and everyone was very polite and nice. Great service. I was pretty overstimulated when I walked in the office. I get that they're trying to create a fun atmosphere for kids while they wait. My daughter is 2 and does not watch screens and there were screens everywhere. I realize I'm the minority with this. The tree in the middle is nice so I was having her point out the different animals in the tree. I appreciate that we had a private room for her first appointment, as I noticed several chairs in an open space. As expected, my daughter cried and was not a fan of getting her teeth looked at. The assistant and doctor were very kind and patient with her and took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. My daughter was happy to get a new toy at the end. read more

This is an updated review as Dr Hilger called me and was very kind and assured me that we won't have billing issues again and that the rooming was out of the ordinary for unforeseen circumstances. I appreciate the office staff and Dr Hilger for making things right and doing the best in a hard situation. I also have to say our hygienist was very kind and tried treating and getting our child out as soon as possible and also trying to help entertain him while we waited. My daughter is special needs & I wish I could give this dentist more than 5 stars. The staff was patient, kind, accepting, and understanding with my daughter. They allowed for extra time during the dental exam, let my daughter get used to the office and staff, put us in a private room, and went at her pace. We also had an issue on the weekend and Dr. Hilger took the time to triage the issue while boarding a PLANE! They got my daughter all fixed up and she had such a positive experience. My child having PTSD from previous dentist, it was a nightmare a 40 minute procedure becomes 4 hours after 500 dollars later ; we need to repeat the whole process 10 months later because the filling was falling apart. My children's upcoming appointments were cancelled without warning because I left a negative review on another platform. I feel as though they "push" the use of nitrous oxide on their patients. Even when I asked to see how my child did without NO, I was met with a disapproving look. To make matters worse, you have to explain your standpoint repeatedly to every staff member you come in contact with! I think it's unfair to be punished (by having appointments cancelled) just because I don't agree with an aspect of their medical treatment/office procedures. read more

Hilgers Pediatric Dentistry is the absolute best dentistry for all ages of child development. We started coming when my 6 month old cut her first teeth, we noticed one of the teeth came in marbled orange and white. She had enamel hypoplasia (weakened enamel). She was too young to do treatment, and so we continued to monitor her teeth. Unfortunately, in our case, her tooth did eventually start chipping and falling apart so we did have to cap the front tooth. When she was old enough, I was blown away at the care, empathy, professionalism and expertise of Dr. Kelly and her staff. Because of the incredible positive experience we had at Hilgers we continued going to her practice for our routine six month cleanings. We've had nothing but great service and professionalism at this clinic since the beginning. we had another baby and she started displaying signs of dental issues at a very early age. We were advised because the treatment was quite extensive, we would have to put our young child under general anesthesia. I did an incredible amount of research and brought up a list of over 30 questions that I personally wanted to ask the anesthesiologist. I was blown away that in order to quell my fears and get all my questions answered, Hilgers put me in direct contact the anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist spent over an hour on the phone with me going over all my very specific questions with such empathy, knowledge, and understanding. That procedure came and went without any deviance from our expectations, again, being blown away with the experience being so positive from start to finish. It's been 10 years now since first coming to Hilgers and I have never had a negative experience, even with hearing bad news about my children's teeth. The staff is carefully selected to have patience, positivity, efficiency, gentleness, compassion and empathy. We do not see a specific doctor when we have to do treatments, because I have never had a "bad" doctor. Dr. Kelly owns this practice but she is out there grinding and putting in the work and dedication as all the other doctors and hygienists. You can tell she treats her staff well and she has a passion for what she does. They are always happy and professional, even when I have been a little over-the-top. Dealing with littles and dental issues cannot be an easy feat, especially the parents, but somehow this clinic has that mastered down to a science. Thank you Dr Kelly and staff for all that you do. Another great experience with Hilgers! My kids have been patients at this practice since they were toddlers...and they still enjoy going to the dentist, which is amazing to see. Dr. Kelly and her staff are so friendly, organized and professional. I appreciate that they really adapt to each patient. When my kids were young, they made going to the dentist fun with games, movies and an arcade...and now that my kids are older, they treat them as such, which my kids appreciate. The office is always organized and clean, and all of the doctors and staff we have encountered are very experienced and knowledgeable, which is super important to me. This office was able to connect me to my review. Received a voicemail from Dr. Hilgers after my post. My mother has been in the hospital and I couldn't return Dr. Hilgers' call. I got an email (see photo) less than 48 hours later informing me all four of my children's appointments were cancelled. My kids were patients here for several years and two kids completed orthodontic treatment through Hilgers Ortho. I'm so disappointed. read more

This is an absolutely great dentist , I could of only wished to have a dentist office like this when I was a kid. We have been taking kids here for 13 years and recommend them to everyone I know . They are always the most courteous and polite staff as well as all the dentist . This location is a jungle theme when you walk in and is just amazing . Then you have the arcade and movies playing . When you go into the back as the kids lay in the chair they now have TVs right above them . If you have insurance and this place excepts it I would absolutely try to get in and you won't be disappointed . I just wish I could give them 6 stars cause they are just that good . read more

After reading all the great comments, I decided to give them a call and schedule an appointment. I was extremely impressed at their service through the phone. Lady I spoke with was very kind and offered to email me the forms I needed to fill out ahead of time because I mentioned that my husband was taking them alone. I was able to get an appointment the next day! I made mention that both of kids have autism and that they don't do well at these visit. She acted completely normal and said I had nothing to worry about. Well my husband was also very impressed with how friendly and understanding they were. He mentioned the dentist that dealt with my kids had a lot of patience and he loved the technic she used to do the exam. We've heard horror stories of kids being literally strapped down! That didn't happen here! Anyway, I'm new to Phoenix and didn't know many people to ask for a personal reference for a dentist which is why I counted on yelp to help me. My son has the best experience every time! There are many games to play, movies to watch, and a fun atmosphere. There are tvs on the ceiling and the kids get to wear cool sunglasses and pick out toys for being good. I would recommend this practice to anyone! read more

What's not to love about this place. It has a great decor that my son absolutely LOVED, great customer service and quality dental care. The dentist took her time to really look at our sons x-rays and talk to us about his teeth. Only recently having arrived in Arizona, I was looking for a dentist that would be as unique as my son's last dentist with toys, games etc. and this was beyond what we were looking for. They also have very thoughtful elements like sunglasses so the lights don't bother my little one's eyes and ceiling mounted TVs to keep kids occupied during the check up. So sad I will no longer be taking my children to your dentistry due to how your employee tesi handled my situation. Issue is bio mother setting up appointments thru my insurance i am the step mom. She is making the appointments but not taking him so meanwhile your office is charging me. I talked to tesi who pretty much let me know I don't have a say because I am a step mom and gave me some talk about insuring the kids and how she had all the rights. She made it sound like my issue was with the mom and to talk to her. No resolvement no options just you are getting charged and that's it I could not even cancel the appointment. Unfortunately because of this issue yelp and other reviews will know about this because I know I am not just a step parent. My three kids have been coming here for years. We always have such a great experience none of them fear the dentist. Their hygienist are so incredible. They are patient, gentle, they have high energy, and really make the kids feel comfortable. The only issue thus far is that there always seems to be recommended work, but they were not pushy. One of my kiddos had to have a cavity filled (he has sensory processing disorder), we were both nervous about the procedure and it was AMAZING!!! They were so incredible with my sweet boy. Took my daughter for her 1st ever visit yesterday. It was very good. The office is set up very well to cater to kids. The staff was all friendly and responsive. This place is amazing! Night and day difference to our old dentist office in Surprise. My daughter used to be afraid of her old dentist, but now she can't wait to go back. The lobby is enchanting, with free arcade games to keep the kids busy. They called us back super fast and we were in and out in no time. They have TVs playing movies above the chairs to keep the kids distracted while they work. I was even impressed with the detail they were able to provide in their X-rays, looking ahead to spot potential future problems instead of just focusing on right now. Two big thumbs up!! read more
