Pretty shocking that a pediatric dentist would allow someone to practice who has multiple complaints- including giving too much medication- DOUBLE the medication. Findings of fact say he worked on teeth virgin teeth with no evidence of decay and some ended up needing root canals, he also left open margins on crowns, and patients had nerve damage. But she left, and I thought I would give them a chance. Boy, was I wrong! I should have left immediately First off, the stench when you first walk in. Unbearable. Smells like bathroom #2. I even asked the front receptionist if they had a water leak. They looked at me dumbfounded. I was in shock to realize that no one else could smell it! Horrible The waiting area is always dirty. Full of crumbs, you can tell they never wipe it down or vacuum. They removed the seating from the middle office, yet they don't allow you to go with your children to the back... so you either awkwardly stand in the middle waiting area, or sit out in the lobby. The seats where the patient sits is peeling and dirty. For the money we pay, these seats should have been replaced or reupholstered. The bathroom -- don't even get me started on it. read more

Today my 3-year-old daughter had an anesthesia appointment, and I went in feeling pretty nervous about the whole process. But the entire team was incredibly kind and reassuring from start to finish. The anesthesiologist team was especially wonderful--they explained everything clearly and gave me such good vibes, which helped me relax. For being a paying customer, always on time never miss an appointment maybe sometimes need to reschedule but the communication or should I say the lack of communication is just disgusting. I can never get anyone to answer the phone from orthodontics in regards to scheduling I can never get a hold of anyone in regards to my account. How much is left. My daughter was having some tooth pain today so I jumped on our insurance website and found the closest kids dentist listed. Such a win that they were able to get us in this afternoon. Because I had a meeting, my husband took her to the appointment and they refused to see her stating that they 'did not take our insurance.' I pulled up the Aetna website and literally every dentist at this practice as listed as available. My husband called back and we were informed because we "have an HMO" they wouldn't see us. Which, fair, but as you can see from the attachment our insurance is clearly listed as a PPO, which they claim to accept. Maybe they just wanted to get off early today? Who knows. But I do know that it was too late to get into any other dentist today as a result. Hopefully we have better luck with the dental office that got her in for tomorrow. read more

They were able to get them all in on the same day at the same time. When we arrived at the clinic, they were very welcoming and made my children feel so comfortable being in a new dental office. They never know what they're doing. My mom try's to make payments and they never answer there phone. My mom schedule me and my sister for are tightening and they schedule us on two different days and when I went they had me down as an emergency check. Came into the office today after calling and confirming my appointment at 1:41 pm as typically they would call the day/days before to confirm but I never received a call. They confirmed the appointment when I called. I recently moved to downtown Phoenix but I do like our dentist. My son's appointment was at 3 pm. We drove in 121 degree heat (heat advisory) but you have to do what it takes for your kids. I get there 15 minutes early. They tell me 'it looks like your son's insurance is inactive' I don't understand why they wouldn't tell me when I called at 1:40 that I needed to contact my insurance. Blamed it on the call center not the office. Uhmmm hey guys it's a heat advisory and 120 degrees. Dont you think that would be an important piece of information before I drove here. Don't worry because they are running a special. It'll cost me $50 to be seen. Ended up calling my insurance and figuring it out. On top of that the front desk told me they called me and the number says inactive. When I called and scheduled a week ago I changed my phone number and address, they confirmed it was done but they didn't change it as when I arrived they read the last 4 of the deleted number saying they tried to call me and tell me he was inactive. Shame. Will say. Front desk lady was very nice and willing to help. It's just frustrating as me and my son were drenched in sweat. The communication lacks and that's so important. read more

The wait was a little long to get two kids in for their first new patient appointments but it was a busy time. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and made sure to talk to the kids and inform them of everything before doing anything on them. Office is cute! It was about an hour and a fifteen minutes for the whole process for two kids. It also was super quick and easy to get in for an appt. I've called other offices with long waits and also didn't accept AHCCS. This place does. Called on a Tuesday and was scheduled just a couple days later. Completing patient forms before the appt is easy as well on the website so it's done before your appt. read more

I've been going here since 2018, after today I will NEVER go here again! I am furious! Took my 4 year old son here to get his caps put on after waiting an entire month for the appointment everything was going well they gave him the laughing gas and all was well until the dentist came in... she put the fishy sucker in his mouth and when he did that as he's laying down with the laughing gas on his nose the accidentally pressed the water and my son started to choke they didn't try to put him up they didn't take off the laughing gas on his nose or anything they just kept telling to breathe.. so now he's crying and scared and dosent want to continue they NEVER tried to ask me if I wanted to give it another shot or anything just said that she can give me names of other childrens dentist nearby and that they offer mild sedative...I've been going here long enough for them keep giving me the run around this isn't the first time they have "recommended" me going to another place! But at this point I'm furious and extremely upset that NOBODY from the clinic has called me to apologize or ask me any questions I literally walked out saying I will come here again.. than have them a call to send me his dental records! This wasn't the 4 year olds fault he was ready I blame the dentist that "accidentally" pressed the wrong button but yet didn't do anything to try and help him besides telling him to breathe! I would like to start off with my experience with Dr.Chu. I took my daughter in for a tooth extraction. A pretty routine procedure. During the extraction, my daughter was saying she could feel the pain of the tooth being pulled. This was after she gave her a couple of shots of Novocain. My daughter was told, "Just bear it a while longer, we're almost done." My daughter was in pain, crying and nearly hysterical with the torture performed on her mouth. Gaby, the tech, was trying to intervene and get Dr. Chu to stop and numb my daughter, but Dr. Chu was not listening to Gaby. Now, after the fact, my daughter cry's in terror whenever a dentist is mentioned. I would like to express my whole hearted gratitude and humble thanks to Dr. Sheena with my daughter's 6 month follow up exam. Her patience and excellent bed side manner was superior! She was able to calm my daughter, for the exam and cleaning and helped restore some trust in her Dentist. She now is comfortable with Dr. Sheena with all of her future dental visits. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sheena for your child, if they are apprehensive or have any fear of going to the dentist. I would also like to mention the superior customer service and professionalism given by Veronica at reception. Her friendly smile and caring attitude always makes you feel welcome. So as a kid i had a near death experience when I was my daughter's age (5) so I've been VERY hesitant about where I take my daughter. Anyways, the front desk ladies are so sweet and are always on top of things. My kiddo has an abscess and they originally sent her home saying it would drain on its own and she didn't need antibiotics and I ended up calling them they next day because she had a fever from it, and she needes antibiotics and i wasnt expecting them to move as fast as they did, but 30 mins after I called they sent in a script for my baby and called me back immediately, I'm so very grateful. Brought my 3 year old son in for a consultation. We live 2 hours away, so wanted to ensure they took our insurance and provided the care we were looking for. Found out after the consultation that the care we were looking for was not as discussed over the phone. When cancelling the appointment for the work to be done, had a difficult time convincing them I was sure I wanted to cancel. I felt as if I was trying to buy a used car. Couple weeks later received a bill in the mail for an office visit. It seems that there is a charge for a consultation that was never discussed. So, not only did we waste our day driving to and from this consultation, but now we have to pay an office visit for misinformation we received over the phone. Would not recommend. read more

Although the staff was very friendly the service is not adequate. They are use to dealing with families of low income and access and they bill insurance for unnecessary procedures. They wanted to give my daughter a crown instead of offering to have the tooth pulled. (She is 3) every time I went in the office it was always something. It was always my daughter might be getting a small cavity we need to do a sealing. So I went and got a second opinion at Every day kids dentist! I find that dental offices always get bad reviews and I'm guessing it's because the patients don't understand how a dental office works. Having worked at many dental offices, I can tell you this is a good pediatric office otherwise I would not bring my kids here. Many, not all, complaints on yelp about this office are standard dental office procedure in all practices. My kids have been coming to tiny teeth since it opened about 10 years ago, we moved to the west valley and didn't go here anymore because of the location. Since they opened their Goodyear office, we started coming again. Most of the staff from when the office opened is still working for dr. Dan, this is strange to find in a dental office, usually high turnover= bad office since staff won't even stick around, you have to wonder what is making them quit. I like that dr dan doesn't push sedation and and NO2 on all his patients and the staff is really friendly. By the way, to the previous reviewer, most pediatric offices cater mostly to Achhhs patients and all the the extra "things" they try to overcharge are what I'm guessing X-rays and fluoride which is standard to charge every 6 months otherwise insurance would not pay, they have yearly limitations on those things. Same thing for sealants, they are a thin coat on the child's teeth and are prone to falling. My kids love coming to the dentist and it is because of the great experience tiny teeth has provided to them. read more

Tiny teeth is my local dentist for my daughters. The staff here are very polite professional and helpful. Dr Alex is excellent. He made my 2 yr old feel very comfortable as he performed her dental exam. He sang 3 songs to her while cleaning and examining her teeth. I have never seen that done before. We've been coming here for 6 years. We really liked Dan, he's great. Tho, we haven't seen him in quite awhile, the other dentist is good too. Hygienists are always great, with the exception of today's. The lady with no name tag, was exceptionally rude. I was actually shocked to see this lady be so rude, to other parents and so many around her, then break into talking Spanish to another hygienist. When it came time to check out, we asked to be billed, because 6 months ago, we paid for some dental work at the time of service and ended up being owed money back. So due to this we asked them to bill insurance first, then we'd pay. It turned into a big ordeal because it wasn't an option for us to do that. To be honest, it's zero dollars out of our pocket, due to our hsa acct, but getting owed money paid back was a HUGE hassle. These guys lost 4 customers today from us. I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else. Dr. Dan Nydegger and his staff are just the best! I have three daughters from 2-10 and they're so patient and great with them. Dr. Nydegger helped me when my daughter had to have some teeth removed because her baby teeth weren't coming out. I was so nervous because I was pregnant and couldn't be there with her. He could see I was nervous and assured me everything would be fine and would notify me of she needed me. Everything came out perfect and she didn't have a single complaint. These people are awesome with kids. You could pick no one better. I bring my 3 kids here that are 2,4,and 6 and they have received the best possible treatment. They inform you of any problems before they do any work. They are flexible with your life and wallet. They also have a beautiful painted office in a jungle theme and a pirate ship for the smaller kids to play in. I would recommend them to anyone. I don't know what happened to this practice but I do not bring my children here anymore. They had staff from their other office come work over there and they kept messing up my billing. I mean no disrespect but the African American girl was friendly up front but you have to have knowledge of your job. They kept charging the ACSESS which I did not have. Their last visit was in December of 2011 and I had asked how much their cleaning would be out of pocket and they said nothing as in $0. I get their and they want over $100 a piece, granted there is 3 kids, because they thought I had ACSESS again. I spoke to the office manager and she said she was going to charge me their new patient special for $39 and they would send it to me otherwise we were going home. It was right before Christmas, I honestly did not have the money. Sure enough I got the bill and it was not the new Patient special. I do not know if this office has improved any. It was a shame how it made a turn for the worse. Another issue that I had was with my 4 year old daughter. She always gets a black line across her back teeth that I have been told because she has a different PH balance than most people. So she had it on her 6 back teeth. The blonde girl working on her teeth brought her out in the waiting room after she cleaned them and I could still see black. Her response was that she got it off of 2 teeth. In a nice way I said if you got if off of 2 you can do the other 4 teeth, What am I paying for? So she brought her in the back again. She said that she had to scrape it off but she removed it proudly. I checked and dental assistants in AZ are not allowed to be scraping on teeth. Only doctors and Hygienists. Another question I had. "If my child still had black on her teeth did the doctor not check the work being done on her? I will not be returning. Hopefully in the future they can fix whatever is broken when it comes to their staff and how the practice billing procedures and children's cleanings. read more

I brought my son (5 years old) to Dr. Dan and his staff today for x-rays, cleaning, and to have sealants placed on his 6 year molars. This was our first visit to Tiny Teeth. I am delighted to share a 5 star rating with fellow yelpers because I believe that Dr. Dan and his team did a great job today. Lots of pros: My experience began by speaking to a receptionist last week who was kind, courteous, and I was happy to hear that appointments were available fairly soon without a long wait. She quoted me the cost of services over the phone (prices for paying cash upfront) and the prices were very reasonable and fair. When we arrived at the office, we found it to be gorgeously decorated and very inviting for children. The receptionist was very kind to my son and went out of her way to make sure he felt welcome. The staff was very happy to allow me to stay with my son throughout his visit, though I did notice that I was the only parent that chose not to stay in the waiting room. We worked with 2 hygienists: Austin took X-rays and did the cleaning and fluoride treatment. Austin was very kind and super fun - my son adored him and Austin had a great rapport with my child. It is easy to see that Austin enjoyed working with children and really liked his job. As a parent, I greatly appreciated all of the positive feedback and encouragement he gave my child. Our 2nd hygienist is named "V" and "V" was a doll - it was clear she knew what she was doing and she was very sweet to our patient as she applied dental sealants to his newly erupted molars. She was great about explaining to him on his level what she was doing, how it would feel, and how it might taste. She was positive and encouraging and a sweetheart. I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Dan and it was very clear to me in conversation with him that he cares a lot about his practice and wants to offer superior service. I also appreciated his commitment to making sure treatments are affordable to patients (we were able to take advantage of a new patient special that he had advertised recently). Before I share the "cons" of our experience, I would like to note that we will be returning as patients of Dr. Dan and our son had a great, positive experience at this office. The only "con" that I would like to make yelpers aware of is the fact that the treatment room is a "community" room. There is 1 large flatscreen TV and several treatment chairs. There may be other private rooms in the facility, but I did not see them. For pediatric dentistry, it is my preference that children be able to be in their own "room" while visiting the dentist, and this is how pediatric dental offices we were patients at have been set up in different parts of the country. Perhaps there are private rooms that the dentist uses for more complicated appointments (not just a cleaning and sealant application)......and please know that we were so happy with the services we received at Tiny Teeth that we will be long-term patients. read more

So disappointed to have to write a negative review for this office. We have been loyal patients for ten years, both my 12 and 6 year old having been patients from the beginning. When Dr. Dan opened this practice we never once had a negative thing to say and were so happy with the care that had been given. It's seems like over the years the turn over of employees has increased and the doctors are always new to the practice. We have never once had a bad experience with any of the hygienist that have cleaned or taken x-rays of my daughters teeth, so this is no way directed towards them. This last dentist we saw, Jeremy Abdul (spelling?) informed me at the last visit that my six year old had five cavities that needed treatment. He informed me that they use general anesthesia for this procedure to fill the cavities. I was shocked to hear she had so many cavities since we go in religiously ever six months for exams, X-rays and cleanings and thought to myself that I wasn't comfortable with her going under anesthesia. The team member at the front desk informed me that they could refer me to another office that offers oral sedation. I scheduled an appointment at the other office and went in for the consultation. Since they had not seen my daughter before they examined her teeth and took X-rays to review. This dentist did not find one cavity. He saw how shocked I was when he told me that she had not one cavity, that he pulled up the films again and also had another dentist and hygienist double check him to ensure he was not missing something. I was baffled at this appointment and so thankful that I did not move forward with having my six year old placed under general anesthesia for no reason. Now, I don't know why Dr. Jeremy diagnosed my daughter the way he did, I understand all doctors are different. But, to have one doctor report five cavities and another doctor not find one is a bit extreme to me. Was Dr. Jeremy looking for a way to get some easy money into this practice, is he a newer dentist without much experience...I'm not sure and I'm not willing to find out. I just want other parents to take into consideration getting a second opinion prior to committing to dental services in this office. It saddens me after all these years we will now be going to a new office, but with the steady change in staff over the years recently I should have been more cautious. My 12 year old went in for an orthodontist consult earlier this year at this same Goodyear Tiny Teeth location and days later I got a call that the orthodontist left the practice the same day of our appointment days prior and they would no longer be able to offer orthodontist services. This should of been my first red flag for the serious of events that have now transpired since then. I hope that this office somehow gets the same core values and exceptional service back that was given to us for many years when Dr. Dan was still there or they will go down hill with the quality of care that is being given by their dentists at this location. I never write these things but had such a horrible experience. I felt other parents should know to stay clear of this place. At least the Goodyear location. I had taken my kids 5 and 4 years of age a few times in the past and had a ok experience. However this last time on 1-13-17 was my last and final time ever going to this horrible place. I have to say this was the single worst experience I have ever had in a office. I would not recommend this facility let alone trust this office with my kids. For one I had an appointment for my children at 5pm I drove through rush hour traffic for an hour and a half to make the appointment on time. To only walk into a situation where there ex-ray machine was down and cause a 30 min delays for all appointments. Instead of calling me to give me the option to reschedule I heard nothing and had no choice but to sit in the office for 30 min past my appointment time. If that wasn't bad enough a client who walked in 20min after I did went strait back to the exam room. When I asked why he got in the back so fast. I was told "OOooo he was running late for his appointment so we sent him strait back". Uhmm no good customer service would would put your clients that where on time in the exam room before the doosh that walked in late. Any other doctors office I have gone to would have worked the late guy in while not making other people wait. They kept rushing me. Acted like my questions were a bother to answer. And wanted me to split up my kids for there own convenience while not thinking about the safety of my kids or the fact that I had questions for the dentist. My kids are 5 and 4 they should and need to have a guardian or parent present. My appointment was for both of my kids at the same time. In the past they never made me or I should say tired to make me split my kids up. When we finally got to see the dentist (a dark haired woman) she rushed me and acted like she didn't want to answer my questions. Last when it came time to fix my son's cavity the dental hygienist (Juan I think was his name) wanted me to either leave my 4 year old in his care with no guardian present or leave my 5 year old little girl alone in the front lobby by herself. Needless to say I walked out. I have never had a worse experience in a office. I would not trust them ever with my kids! read more
