I asked my network of friends and one of them recommended Rich (the owner) as a honest and qualified transmission repair shop. Rich diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than a half hour and i drove home with no issues. He even refused to take any payment, as he said it was an easy fix ! My 1994 Isuzu Rodeo needed some regular maintence work but I had a strange gas smell. When Brain looked at my car he called me and explained that my filler neck was rusted and he would get a replacement part. Unfortunately the part is no longer available, Brain then explained clearly and concisely what they could do to fix the problem, with a diagram. The work was done very quickly and for less than the price quoted. Since the repair is a band-aid until I can located a replacement part from a junk yard ( Isuzu no longer carries the part) he would like to see the vehicle in 2-3 months free of charge. The best part about this garage is that I normally have to claim the vehicle is my father's to keep mechanics from trying to sell me more work than I need. Brain on the other hand, spent twenty minutes talking about different cars with me as if I was a man. Any women should free like they are in great hands with the Shanahan Brothers. Since that time all the work done on my car was done in this garage. They are wonderful hard working mean and are always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty.

I've been their customer every since... let's see... early 2000s. Was sad to see their original location close, and I thought the world was over and I sojourned in the wilderness looking for half as trustworthy mechanics in the Fort Lee area... until on my recent first trip to CostCo Teterboro I saw a mirage to my right... The Korean Flag. On an Automechanic shop. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief for a second and stared again - and there it was - the proud Korean flag + automechanic combo, which could only harken back to my memories of seeing the same in the original location closer to Palisades Park side of the same Rt. 46. I literally stopped by right away and there they were, like Professor X and the Beast in the X-Men movies quietly deliberating on plans to kick Magneto's ass, Mr. Kang and Mr. Choi(?) the owner - fine gents jus' doing their thang. Owner recognized me despite 10+ years having passed. As did Mr. Kang who immediately gave me the lowdown on my problem with battery and installed a new one, and my oft-dead car issue that plagued me for several months... solved. Other mechanics told me it could be alternator issue so they didn't want to sell me battery just to have the car dead the next day or so, and Mr. Kang just explained the $h%# out of those dudes to the stratosphere. BAMN. PEW-PEW! KAZAAM!!! Hasta la vista baby. All my clouds of confusion and worry - GONE with the wrench. *cue the scene of gunslinger holstering his smoking wrench back* "But Mr. Kang, what about what they told me about my timing belts that are so old? Any dangers?" Another lightning-fast Bruce Lee-esq explanation why I need not worry. BAMN! POW! 1-inch punched outta hell to the Andromedas. And this was all done within a few efficient minutes close to their closing time. I didn't have anymore fearful issues to inquire about. A nice handshake and a knowing smile, and a promise to return, and return the hell I shall. I don't have to second guess myself anymore on any more mechanical issues which I have plenty with my 2004 Acura TSX until I can get a new one after this ridiculous car inflation subsides. And then some with my new car, I can be sure counted to come ONLY to Tech Power. Screw dealers - I ain't going anywhere else and I don't need your watered-down coffee. If you've been struggling finding honest mechanics who're super experienced, can and WILL take time to EXPLAIN what they're doing, give you REASONABLE price, and CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS... look no further - come to Tech Power, your car's promised land foretold in the Car Bible. You really can't go wrong here. Beware of this place! I went in for a simple tire change (seeing all the positive reviews), but…read moreafterwards the owner told me to follow him into the shop because they found other problems. He and his mechanic then proceeded to shake two of my wheels which shook pretty bad, telling me that it is dangerous to drive around like that and that I had to get additional things fixed. He then showed me his estimate for the job which was pretty high. Frankly, when the wheels shook like that, I panicked a little and thought about getting it repaired then and there despite the cost, but then remembered a time when another mechanic did something similar at another shop (showing me shaky wheels) which turned out to be nothing but a scam to scare naive customers into spending more money. I took the car to three other mechanics, one of them a friend of mine and just as I suspected, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the wheels. Upon closer inspection, it seemed they either loosened a bolt or two somewhere behind the wheels to shake them like that to scare the customer (me), then tightened it back again when they realized I wasn't taking the bait. The owner seemed nice enough and competent at first, but I think they take advantage of alot of customers this way, especially women and some of the Korean population here, so I would really beware of this place. I could only imagine how many other of their customers have already fallen for sneaky, underhanded stunts like this to scare them into dishing out extra money for repairs they never really needed, including some of the positive reviewers on here, unbeknownst to them. I've even heard of some shops that actually break parts that were perfectly fine going in to drum up business, so always get SECOND or THIRD opinion whenever a shop 'shows' you sudden costly repairs that you apparently need. You will end up saving hundreds and hundreds of dollars of unnecessary repairs. Also, it goes without saying, but never trust how nice or accomodating they first appear to be. All that means nothing.
