It's not overcrowded during the tutoring or in the waiting area, as I've seen in more "known" tutoring companies". My son is receiving tutoring in math. In just 2 weeks, his confidence level increased and continues to grow every week following. He has had a few different tutors helping him, depending on the day of his session, and each one of them has been kind, thorough, and they make sure he understands completely before his 30 min session ends. The owner really cares about the kids coming to her tutoring center. She makes time to answer any and all questions from parents, and shows kids' progression in a positive manner. In the waiting area, every child that walks out of tutoring has a smile on their face and is ready to share with their parents what they've learned/accomplished. My 8 year old daughter has been attending Explore Horizons Frisco for about 4 months for help with…read morereading and math. She has already made significant progress in math (now above grade level!) and is making solid gains in reading as well. She was a year behind in reading and is steadily catching up. When we did the trial class, I was skeptical because it just looked like a bunch of kids sitting around on computers. However, we decided to give it a try due to reasonable cost, no long term commitment, no assigned homework and a spot-on assessment of my daughter's needs at the end of the trial class. I've been very pleased so far. The sessions are highly individualized, and she is exposed to many math concepts that she hasn't even done in school yet. The staff give feedback after each session, and the director does a one-on-one written progress update every two months. This is extremely helpful in tracking progress against state academic standards and grade level performance and in identifying strengths and weaknesses. The staff are all very friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Explore Horizons Frisco.
