Foot massage here was good however I don't like their set up. The foot massage area is in the middle of the facility and it isn't enclosed. My partner and I did the massages. I opt for the body massage and he did the foot/body combo. We requested females workers. We were given a private couple's room. Based on the review, there are tea, sauna, clothes to change, locker rooms etc. We were not offered that. We were quickly escorted to our private rooms and received the massage. The ladies didn't speak much English and the massages were rough and meh-ok. It's like any other massage places for $20/30 on Bellaire. I don't think I'll be back unless something changes. read more

Avoid this place! I came here and omg this has got to be the worst massage ever. First the lady kept massaging me on top of my towel very very fast like she was racing or something. I had to stop the massage to tell her to slow down. Then she kept massaging me on top of the towel. I told her hey are you going to massage me on top of my skin? She finally took the towel off and oiled me up. She didn't speak English so we had to use a translator. She kept talking to co worker in Chinese so loud I couldn't even relax I was getting very annoyed. Then she wasn't even massaging but she was just oiling me up.. I told her please give me some pressure., she continues to just oil me up like giving me a rub down and rubbing over my bones and not muscles. At this point I know she is not a licensed massage therapist because she obviously doesn't know what she is doing. I am a licensed massage therapist myself so I know when someone isn't licensed. I asked her to see her license and sure enough she said she isn't licensed. They just throw people in this place to give you a rub down and take your money.... I'm so disappointed and a waste of $60. I give this place 3 stars because my experience was ok, but could've been so much better with some simple changes in practice. This was my second time coming to prosperous paradise spa. Both times, I brought a guest and opted for the "couples massage" for a friend and I and for my mother and I. The facilities are gorgeous, serene, and clean. The hospitality, massage menu, and communication could use improvement. The first time I came, my best friend and I enjoyed hot tea and a sauna before getting our massages in a private room. This experience there was quite a disconnect in communication from the time I entered. I brought my mom in, and I was hoping for a similar experience to my first time, however, the young lady who worked the front desk may have been having a long day, but there was no hospitality. She handed a very difficult to read massage menu, that lacked any description of what was being offered and was not helpful in offering any explanation. This led to a very subpar experience, as we were confused on where to go, what was next, and what our options were. If the establishment could offer either a tour of the facility and an explanation of what services are available or a more detailed menu with pictures and descriptive language explaining what each massage package includes, this would improve the experience immensely. I had to go and find the front desk attendant after my massage to figure out what to do next. Also, it would have been nice for the desk attendant to recommend purchasing a gift card to cover my spa experience that day, which came with a $40 reward that could be used for a future visit, but that was never communicated. Again, the facility was nice and the massage was good, but If management could address some of these hospitality concerns it would be much better. read more

This company sexual assaults in a way that can't be explained . I'm honestly forced to leave a star but I don't want to leave any. Be careful to anyone going here if you do not feel safe or comfortable. My massage was painful I was left with bruises. I told the lady I was in pain and she proceeded. I was in pain because of her. ( false advertisement) they will literally invade your privacy and give you a shower! With dove soap! But it's supposed to be a exquisite spa. I was also taking to the showers where no one else was at. I seen workers and ladies in the shower area where they had put my items in a locker, but had me go to another side of showers where no was and put my in the last one. The lights even turned off at one point so I couldn't see if someone else was in the shower area. I also seen in the other set of showers the ladies were given under garments! I went to the front desk and explained what happen. She rolled her eyes and just kept saying " honey honey what do you want I gave discount as she aggressively slid 20 on the counter." I gave it back and told her... your worker just touch my private areas and started showering me naked! That's sexual assault! She rolled her eyes! I called back several times to speak to manager and they continued to hang up the phone in my face. read more

I received a call a few hours later to confirm my appointment, I let them know I need to cancel and there is no option online the lady said ok I will cancel. This place is a hit or miss. I had good experience the first time. Today was my 2nd time here and I got combo (0.5 hr foot + 0.5 hr body). It was not a good experience at all today. Summary/analogy: Imagine you go to a restaurant and order a large meal (meat, pasta, dessert, etc.). You are hungry and are eagerly waiting for the delicious meal. Finally, when you get your food, you notice it's just one raw cherry tomato. That's the story of the massage here. Details: Since the foot massage area was occupied, I was taken to a room to do the body massage first. For a good while, no body oil / lotion was used. The masseuse used her feet and knees to apply pressure. Finally when the oil was applied, there was no massage at all. The oil was just rubbed over the back and then almost immediately wiped off. Entire massage felt half-hearted and rushed and lacked proper massage techniques. Next I was asked if I wanted to get foot massage in the room itself instead of going to the dedicated foot massage area. I agreed initially but found soon that if you get foot massage in the room then you don't get your feet soaked in hot water. This is a big NO for getting a foot massage. So I asked to be moved to the foot massage area. More disappointment in the foot massage portion. Usually foot massage starts by first soaking your feet in hot water, and while the feet is soaked, the masseuse works on the head, neck etc. This wasn't the case here. Feet were placed in the bucket and while the bucket was being filled with water, the masseuse just sat there. Next, as soon as the water was filled, no time was given to actually soak the feet. Instead, feet were immediately drawn out of water. At this time, some other masseuse applied lotion. Again, there was no massage or reflexology involved. Lotion was applied like one applies a face moisturizer - with same light pressure. During this sad experience, 3 different people took turns rubbing lotion on my feet. Only last person was applying somewhat decent pressure. So basically 4 people took part in this massage and in the end, it was not a good massage. This has to be one of the worst massages ever. The foot massage area itself was not relaxing. Phones of other masseuse in the room rang almost 3-4 times. Also the foot massage room is very close to the entrance so you basically hear all the talks and people leaving and entering the venue. Yes there is sauna and showers, but they can't compensate for bad massage. I may try this place again but for now I'll be going back to Oasis to get my massage fix. read more

Came here because I saw someone snap about it and it looked amazing and so clean. I called in advance and asked for the couple's room. The good thing is they open late so we were able to arrive later than expected. We were greeted once we entered the door. Check-in was quick and easy. We were led to our rooms, which were separate. It wasn't what we asked for, but we went with it. The massage wasn't bad, but the lady kept leaving the room to grab supplies and items. The bed itself wasn't comfortable and my head didn't fit comfortably in the cut out hole. There were just too many distractions and movements. My favorite part was the sauna, but I wished they had explained it all beforehand and gave us the change of clothes before the massage because we finished the massage, got dressed, headed out, and then got the clothes, got back into our rooms, changed out of our clothes again, and put on the sauna clothes. Other than that the sauna was very relaxing and warm, but not too hot. The process needs to be smoother, but the area is clean and the massage wasn't bad. read more

This was the most aggressive massage I've ever received, but I loved it. As a career office worker, I get at least 2 massages a month to reduce the discomfort in my back, neck and shoulders. I have a monthly membership to a traditional spa club, but every so often, I get a kink in my shoulders that your average masseuse cannot get out in one session. That is when I resort to the asian ahjummas of the Bellaire Foot Spa industry. I had just gotten a massage the day before, and after being unable to rid the tightness in my neck and shoulders, decided to give this new place a try. My husband and I came without an appt and was able to secure 2 female masseuses for our full body massage. We were led in to a private room where we undressed. It was a bit awkward bc usually there's a blanket you slip underneath, but apparently the blankets are for show bc she quickly slipped it underneath the bed and all I got was a towel. If I was 90lbs and 4'8, it would cover me, but i'm not, so there I was, goods to the world. Luckily, I've had my share of Asian massages, so this is not new to me. In comes Alice, petite little asian woman. She starts with hot stones, and before she even puts her bare hands on me, she's found all my tight areas and knots. There's not really a way to describe the magic Alice did on me. It was painful, awkward, relieving, and detoxifying, all in one go. If I had to explain Alice's method, it would a cross between a Human Origami artist, a chiropractor, a Thai masseuse, a deep tissue masseuse, and sports massage therapist. You really need to know what you're getting into before you go into one of these sessions, but if you can stomach it, be ready for the relief of a lifetime. I walked out of there feeling like a million dollar gummy worm. Just be ready to expect a little pain (adjustable, just speak up), some aggressive therapeutic methods, and don't be shy about your body... it will be exposed and NO, these lady's don't care. Nothing sexual, nothing shameful, just full on uninhibited therapy. Don't come here for relaxation, but definitely come here to for relief! read more

The full body massage was alright, covers and towels weren't super comfortable. It was a couples massage and they kept leaving the room to get supplies through the massage, when they left they didn't ensure my wife or I was covered up. Anyone in the hallway while they were walking out could peer in to see us not fully covered. The foot massage was good, the chair was super comfortable, but was supposed to get a foot soak that they were preparing for me and my wife. They were talking back and forth a lot and eventually shut the water off and covered it up with no explanation and we didn't get a foot soak. They directed us to the sauna, which wasn't a true sauna, no steam or anything. I actually wanted to try the ice room (which was included in our price) but was told they weren't going to just turn it on for just a few people...don't think that is good to tell a paying customer. In the middle of relaxing in the sauna, they interrupted us and said we couldn't shower because they didn't have working hot water...keep in mind we were currently sweating and had oil on our body and in our hair from the massage - It now made sense why we didn't get our foot soak, because they had no hot water. We had planned to grab dinner afterwards but couldn't really go out in public since we had oil everywhere. In the end, still paid full price, not sure we will go back, was looking for a more convenient place but we'd rather pay a higher price and be able to count on a hot shower and access to all amenities that is included in massage packages. Had they told us before we got in the sauna and started sweating we couldn't take a shower, we may have just skipped that part. Or even offered an add on for the inconvenience we likely would have chalked it up to a "new place" working out the kinks, but none of that was done unfortunately, just was asked to pay full price and to leave a tip while the masseuse and receptionist hawked us signing to see how much of a tip we were leaving. read more

This was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. They do not speak English and they do not tell you what is going on. Our whole party received Groupons for Christmas. One of the things on there was a red wine scrub and milk treatment. It was implied that it went along with your foot massage. It was a fully NUDE body scrub front and back. My friend had the very thin paper underwear ripped off by the lady that was scrubbing her. When we were checking out, the only man present in the facility, was guilting our party into tipping more even though we were extremely uncomfortable with what had occurred. After speaking with my aunt who is a licensed massage therapist, she said that what they did was assault and needs to be reported to the board. We will be reporting it and doing everything we can to make sure this never happens to anyone again. read more

I had a fantastic experience at this spa, I cannot recommend it enough. I had a Groupon which included a 60 min body massage, 30 min foot massage, and red wine skin treatment. I was there for nearly three hours getting pampered! The masseuse, Marilyn did all three treatments and she was amazing. During the massage she asked several times about the pressure level, having read prior reviews I told her medium though I like deep tissue. The pressure was perfect and the massage was so relaxing. It included some Thai massage type stretching. The foot massage room is beautiful and feels like being in a palace. Finally I had the red wine treatment. For that I really didn't know what to expect- it was actually like a full body scrub inside the locker room. This treatment took about an hour as well and left my skin feeling wonderful. You change into a uniform in the locker room before entering the spa. They have a sauna as well which is included in the services, but I wasn't able to sit in it because I had an appointment. Took one of my bff's here for our annual birthday massages. Upon checking in, we were given scrubs & sandals to change into and armband for Bluetooth locker. My masseuse Danny was super nice & gave the perfect pressure. Jason is the masseuse my friend had & she seemed equally pleased. They have a women's locker room w/showers if you need to rinse off afterwards, which is nice. The dry steam room was also very nice. I read they have complimentary tea, juice & wine but we were only offered water. Booo... The issue I have with this place is how they charged me. I requested we each get 45 min body + 45 min foot massages and added the hot stone to both. I paid a total of $210 + tax (although I don't believe "labor or services" is actually taxable in Texas) upfront. We never received the hot stone upgrade that I paid for, not to mention we only ended up getting 30 mins for each massage, instead of the 45 mins I requested. I brought this to Shelly at the front when we were done & politely asked that I get a credit. She apologized profusely & said it was her fault because she simply forgot to tell the masseuse. No problem I said, because the massage was still great, but I again asked to receive the $40 credit. She said she would just make sure I received the hot stone next time. I again asked for a refund & explained I wasn't sure when I would be back due to the spa's proximity to my home. She claims she wasn't able to give refund & I was too hungry and impatient to continue with her. I may give this place a second chance, but for the price I'll probably just stick to our regular spot in the area. So just beware of any upgrades you pay for upfront - I know better now. read more
