I just had the rudest customer service from someone I believe was a supervisor when I was asked to be connected to someone regarding a delay in the process of getting my daughter's brace that no one told me about. The person who fitted her has not been in contact with me since I emailed him despite him giving me his personal business card. He was also the same person who fitted my daughter when she was 3. He came to the brace fitting appointment when it came in and it was clearly way too small for her. He tried using his heating tools to flare it out and actually had us leave with this brace. She was in so much pain and it left marks that took days to go away. When we scheduled the next PT appointment, the PT was shocked and said it was clearly meant for a much younger child. This is the WORST company for orthotics!

I got a call in October that it wouldn't be ready until December. I'm here today and the brace was not made to the agreed upon thickness at my fitting to ensure it would hold Up like a previous brace. We now start over to have another brace made. I was sent to get an orthotic for my right shoe. The technician insisted on also making an…read moreimpression of my left foot. I kept telling him that I did not need one for my left foot. He said, "That's OK. This is just usual procedure. They won't charge you for the left one. I was told that someone would call me to discuss 'financials.' No one ever call3ed. I went to the clinic this morning to pick up the orthotic for my right foot. I was told that it costs $327. I asked if my insurances would cover any of the cost. I have BC/BS Anthem and Medicare. Technician told me that only Care Source will pay. BC/BS & Medicare will not. I told him that I was not going to pay $327 for an orthotic. He disappeared and then returned to say, "I was wrong. It will only be $125. I said that I would pay $125 for it. I went to clerk to pay. I paid by VISA. She stated that I also needed to sign a pen pad which was next to it. I thought it was in connection with the VISA payment. As I was about to leave, clerk asked me, "Would you like to have a copy of the paper you signed?" I said "yes, thank you." My husband and I left. While waiting for my next doctor's appointment, I read the paper she had me sign remotely with the pen pad. The paper stated that The Hanger Clinic was billing Medicare $209.32 x two ($418.64) and also billing BC/BS $146.53 for each one ($293.06 for 2). So, the form I signed by pen pad, (I thought it was needed for the credit card payment) stated that any part of the bill not paid by BC/BS or Medicare would be paid by me. The total bill for the 2 orthotics (1 of which I did not ask for or need) came to $654.00 I went back to the clinic and returned the orthotics. I demanded a refund. They were rude and hostile. I discourage anyone from using their over-rated and ridiculously costly services. They are unprofessional and can't even keep their stories straight. They do not deserve the 1 star rating.
