This place is horrible and mismanaged. The owners are awful and there is really not much for the kids to do. They watch a movie for a couple of hours and not much in the way of sports. Absolutely irresponsible. I can't speak for the others or the review they give. My son attended the program at Waterchase. At pick up,often he was indoors Sitting in a floor in the clubhouse waiting for me. No chairs and a counselor on a cell phone. No ID required to pick up either. I paid for snacks,my son didn't receive any drink but a snack after his second week. During break, he was ill, I called to notify them- no response. I then cancelled again no response. When my son returned to school he went a week with no pick up from protential nor a phone call from the camp wondering why he wasn't there. After I asked for a refund,they told me they never got the Initial request and they would count two weeks later as the two week notice period.over $400.00 taken. Understand,for me it's not the money, for them clearly it is. I have not in 15 Days had one phone call regarding why my son wasn't at camp. They claim to have not received emails telling them he wasn't coming- so if this is he case, why didn't they question where he was, or why didn't they ask the school? Not even a call to me asking if he was safe. Very disappointing especially when the program is run in a nice community. Protential doesn't care about children safety, only about parents money. My five year old is currently attending PROtential Sports and I cannot say enough how wonderful it has been for her. When she began, she was shy and nervous.....fast forward eight months, she is right in the middle of everyone, participating and having the time of her life. She asks me to pick her up later and later every day because she wants to keep playing. The coaches, especially Coach Garrett, have worked with her and I credit them for how much she has blossomed in the program and in her sports abilities. For instance, when I picked her up today, she was playing tennis....yesterday, it was soccer. She's learning a lot about sports and exercise, along with self respect and respect for others. This is the only sports program or camp I would allow my child to attend. My son has been in their soccer league since he was three. He is nine now and continues with soccer as well as their football and basketball leagues. The coaches are phenomenal and always make sure that they are not only training the children, but allowing them to play and have fun. He environment is kind and educational instead of cutthroat like many other sports programs. This program is wonderful! If you have a child you owe it to them to try it!!! read more

I wish I could give PROtential 5 stars. As much as my child loves being there after school their communication is horrible. I signed my child up online and after no response I had to call and leave a vm to make sure they got the registration and payment. They still didn't respond after the VM and emails, so I had to text the number and finally someone responded via text. They stated they would send an email with all of the info, never happened. No receipt for payment either. But, I did get great reviews from other parents on the programing so we went ahead and let him go and he loved it. But after complaining to other parents about the communication they confirmed they had the same problem and just to expect it. So disappointing. But again, my child loves it and is doing well. read more

My son has been a part of the PROTential Sports family since he was five years old. Which although it's only been three years he has learned so much from the coaches at all of the different camps he's attended. We have utilized almost all of their services, from after school camp, to Summer camp to Flag Football in the Fall and the Spring. The coaches teach sports, how to follow directions from a person other than your everyday teacher/parent and they have words of the week. My son goes to the Heritage Isle location and he is simply ecstatic every time I pick him up. Honestly, he never wants to leave. I never knew how much he would enjoy playing sports, considering the PS3 has been his best friend for awhile now. Fellow parents, I would stay clear of this summer camp. I am rating Protential Sports ZERO stars for the way they have handled my situation. I signed up my 3 children for the Waterchase 2015 summer camp prior to hearing any negative press from other parents about this camp. I was required to pay a total of $465 to register my children. $150 was for application fees and $315 was for their first week of camp in advance. After I made this payment, other parents in my neighborhood began to tell me about their negative experiences with this camp. The biggest issue for me was the fact that all of the children have NO indoor breaks until 1pm in the afternoon each day! After hearing about this, I became very concerned. I called Protential Sports to confirm the information that I had heard. They told me that the Waterchase Homeowner's Association did not want any kids in the clubhouse until the afternoon, but that the kids could take water breaks in the shade outside. I was literally outraged. I don't need to tell anyone reading this post about the extreme heat of Tampa summers, even in the morning. I asked Protential Sports for a full refund of my $465 over 2 months ago. I have not seen one penny of it after sending numerous e-mails and making multiple phone calls. The only e-mail correspondence that I have received is a refusal to refund my application fees, but they have completely avoided responding at all about the refund of the remaining $315. I have filed a complaint with BBB and I plan on taking this to court. I am writing this in order to save other parents from the mistake of signing up your children for any camp with this organization. read more

I have used this program for almost a year and half for summer camp and after school camp. I have given it multiple times to correct itself because my daughter enjoys herself and being outside, and most of the coaches have been very nice. When I first started with this program, I had multiple issues with them over drawing my account and as recent as the last weeks of her last attendance. Even though they were quick to fix the issue, it was still an inconvenience to have extra money taken from you unaware. This last incident has fully made me remove my child from the program. I picked my child up after work to discover that she sustained an injury and the coach did nothing to treat it. It still had dirt in the wound. She straped her leg and it pulled her skin to the 3rd level down. It was so bad it had start to ooze to try and heal itself. My 7 year old daughter was told to go to the bathroom and rinse it off with water only. This was unacceptable. I asked to speak to management and have only so far been contacted by the office manager once by phone and twice by email. I understand she has addressed the issue, and had the coach reprimanded but I have asked to speak to higher management. I know the past cannot be changed, but this mother wants further reassurance that this will not be tolerated if it happens to any other child in their care. I don't feel I am asking too much because I could take it further if this wound becomes infected. Save your money and time and look elsewhere to place your child. read more

PROtential Sports walk the talk.The staff of coaches are not only excellent at teaching the fundamentals of each sport; they are exceptional with the kids. And extremely patient with the parents. They truly teach life through sports. It is the culture they teach, and it starts from the top. Tony Bland is a great leader and teacher. Julie Garretson then does an excellent job of passing that culture and her experience down through the other coaches, and ultimately to the kids. My sons experience with Protential Sports has been a great. The coaches have been teaching him discipline, focus and team work. The coaches have worked patiently with my son and now a child who was afraid to try new things but is now willing to try and not just give up. The management and coaches have been nothing but helpful and have earned my trust. My only regret is that my child will be attending school outside of their pickup area and I can't use their afterschool program. read more

This has to be the worst run company I've ever dealt with. Literally a bunch of monkeys could do a better job. Unorganized would be the key word. Severely unorganized. It's virtually impossible to get a hold of someone and when you do they never know anything. Don't waste your time and money sending your child to Protential. There are other programs that are not only cheaper, but offer more. Their customer relations are awful, their communication is awful and what they promote as a 'program' is awful. They didn't refund our money when they should have and they cut short an 8 week program to 5. What can your child possibly learn in 5 sessions? Nothing. But they sure will take your money and say it's your fault not theirs. I will say the coach we had was nice and professional. My daughter attended Seven Oaks summer camp on 6/27/14. The support staff assured me that my 13 year old daughter would not be the only girls there her age and that there were female coaches. Only 1 other girl was in attendance 3 years younger than my child and there were no female coaches. The camp meets at the Seven Oaks clubhouse. However, this is used as the drop off and pickup location. The campers did watch a movie in-doors but most of the day was spent outside including lunch. The temperature was above 90° which I believe it too hot. Other information regarding daily trips and additional fees was not made available until after I had registered and paid for at least 1 week of camp. I was very disappointed with the lack of information regarding the coaches, camper and the conditions. Needless to say, my daughter who is very athletic competing in gymnastics, swimming and currently basketball did not return. read more

First day of school and my wife and I signed up our kids 12 years girl and 5 years boy for after care with PROtential Sports they suppose to pick them up after school at 3:15pm and take them to the Club house in Rivercrest community (Riverview FL) where we live and have sports and homework done. My daughter called me at 4:00pm to tell me they was not pick up by ANYBODY what irresponsible people and then I tried to call them to be inform what's going on because I was working not response at all I pick up my kids from school (leaving my work early), after that I tried to call again with any response. Finally after 1 one later the Lady with name Nyree who is one of the owners called me back saying she doesn't know what happen "are you kidding me" who runs business like that, my kids was unattended alone in their school and those clowns didn't not what happen. Hopefully this help to the people know more about "PROtential Sport" and does not sign with them your kids will be in a very high risk place with the wrong people. Now I understand one of the paragraph that was bothering me a lot but I was not believing in that moment and says this: " I understand that PROtential Sport is NOT my child care provider and that my child is only participating in the sport clinics offer. I understand PROtential sport has an open door policy for the children and/ or parents and agree that my child can be picked up or can be free to leave at any time during or after the session or chosen clinic." So who the hell is NOT responsible for a 5 years old child?. Any way I'm glad this happen in the first day so I can't imagine what will be happen in that place. I was horribly disappointed in this program. After repeatedly informing the staff and camp owner about my son's allergies, they still exposed him to his allergen. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake or even apologizing, the owner actually blamed my 5-year-old son and yelled at me in front of the entire camp. Prior to that I had concerns about the supervision, but this incident only confirmed my suspicions. Additionally, they have a poor plan for the kids when it is raining -- they are kept inside a small room and may sit for hours playing their personal video games or watching age-inappropriate movies. What a horrible experience we have had with this program. I have 2 young children and I was looking for a good after school program as my husband and I work full time. After speaking with a representative from the company asking if they would pick up from our school, she said no problem. I then stopped by the location where they would be going and verified with the actual driver. I then signed them up with a payment of $50 each in registration and $60 each for the first week up front. We were set so I cancelled or previous after care spot. After only 1 day of picking up our child I received a phone call notifying me that they would no longer be able to pick up my children and would not be refunding ANY of my money! I have now lost my spot at our previous location and I am out $220 for for 4 hours of child care. read more

Please find another option for sports or child care besides Protential Sports. They're billing practices are unethical at best. I have spent numerous hours contacting them with the same issues over and over, they over charge, double charge, charge for service they don't provide etc. The coach turnover that I have seen is awful, the only consistency I have seen is change. With each coach they change the approach, it could be their motto. They showed favoritism to some children which is the opposite of sportsmanship. My child has now decided that they do not enjoy sports they used to love after their recent experience with Protential. This school takes your money and that's all they care about. I paid a private swimming class for my 4 year old. We're still owed lessons at the end of semester. I never got a response of my inquiry of how many classes we had left to do. In addition to this, the coach we signed up with never taught a lesson, never introduced herself to us, we were greeted by her assistant at our first class and she became the coach for my son, we have no problem with her assistant, just the fact we were unaware of the "coach swap" till our first class. We had no idea who the coach that we signed up classes with was till the very last class, I asked her assistant and found out who she is. Turned out to be the coach that was teaching older kids in the same pool we had class at, this person never came up introduce herself even, just awful! We were referred to by a parent but we would NOT recommend this school to anyone! read more

I have come to the conclusion that the pros do not outweigh the cons. After this summer, my son will not be going back. Here is what I have experienced and if he didn't like it so much, I would take him out today: Pros: 1) Location (originally) 2) Coaches 3) Fun sports according to my child. Cons: 1) Expensive weekly tuition, Charges Xtra for later hours 2) ALL field trips must be signed up for and paid for in advance and there are no refunds or applying the $ to the enrollment fee if something comes up where you can't make the field trip. (This is ridiculous especially considering the fact that the field trips are expensive-- $20 for movie and you have to send xtra $ if you want your child to be able to buy popcorn. 3) But the main thing that concerns me greatly is the facility. It is a community clubhouse that only lets them in only when it rains or at other very specific times throughout the day. Otherwise they are outside all the time in the 95 degree heat. They even have to eat lunch outside and aren't able to wash up before eating. Seems like this would be against the health dept. or something if you ask me. So, if you want to leave your child outside or drop them off to hang out in a 'park' like setting all day long in the summer heat, go with protential sports. read more
