SK came out and did a seasonal checkup on our AC. We're new to the home and area and found SK…read morethrough Yelp. They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

Last cooling season he…read moresaid the outside unit was near the end of its life, the unit was in the house when purchased. It''s a rental when it dies, we'll replace it. On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.

I was introduced to Vincent during my Walk-through July 2026. His Stickers were on my HVAC Units…read moretoo in my home. AC was not working during my walkthrough. He opened up electric panel to "Leaf Blow Moss" out of the system. We knew they were older units and original, so I did not expect them to last much longer. After 3 Days, my 1st Floor Air was not Cooling. I asked Vincent to come check out our report of "No Cooling". I have spoken to Liberty HVAC in Garfield, NJ, Gold Medal, Fras Air, Plumbing Experts, and Service Experts, and ALL Professionals said a Report of No Cooling would have resulted in a Multitude of Checkpoints and Analysis. I honestly expected the guy to tell me my system was shot and needed replacement. But he did not, he proceeded to tell me "All it needed was Refrigerant.". I was so happy and grateful that was it. Happily paid the guy and thanked him. Mentioned to him, we have Home Warranties and Fras Air Service Plans, we 100% believe in them. Well Vincent said, "they're useless - just call whenever you need something, and he can check but those companies are not really needed, and he does not recommend.". 10 Days Later, Guess What! No Cooling again. I contacted Vincent at the 12 Day mark, due to being away/busy, and he was "Not available, away, Family Emergency, Family Emergency that turned Catastrophic" all per his text messages. We were patient and understanding but frustrated. I had Plumbing Experts come because we could not wait longer. Plumbing Experts said the Wires and Mechanicals had a Severe Rats Nest, Skeleton Bones, Chewed Through Wires, and that Refrigerant should never have been added or charged for. I paid Vincent Check, so I cannot contest the charge. But I want my funds back. I emailed several times with him regarding my experience and so forth, and yet still nothing. He said he was "not hired to do more than he did". I called him for "NO COOLING AND FROZEN LINE". I don't even know what he checked, but Plumbing Experts said he clearly did not check correctly or thoroughly before adding Refrigerant. 5lbs Added, and 5lbs gone in 12 Days. HMMM!!! He has only offered $150 back, and is refusing to reimburse fully. It was a wasted visit, assessment, diagnosis, and suggestion. I would not trust the work of this company, and maybe others have had positive experience, but this is mine. While it is a few hundred dollars, $625 to be exact, I WANT IT BACK! I was deceived, and that bothers me more than anything. I am a realtor, and former teacher. Consumers and families TRUST me when they hire me, and I did the same with Vincent and Double Edge. I am left wondering, why did he fail to fully check my No Cooling issue and Frozen Line? To make a quick few hundred dollars? Did he really even add the refrigerant? He did not show me pictures or invite us out there to see anything he was doing. He simply saw a quick adjustment of cool air, and said "all done, that was it.". The HVAC people I spoke to said even a little refrigerant would spike the cool air and improve. Maybe it was not working well sooner than my 12 Day communication, but I have 2 other zones in the house. I will be pursuing a formal complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, and Local Claims to pursue a Full Reimbursement for being deceived and not implementing Best Practice.

My husband and I have been using Tony for over a year now since his worker Kevin is GREAT. It's…read morereviewed 1 star because of the way things are conducted through Tony. As most of us know, plumbers are high priced. It's just that type of trade. Well Tony was no different. In fact, when ASKED to be quoted, other than 2 times he couldn't do that for some reason. There have been a few occasions that my husband and I have questioned how Tony is pricing his work. And he has even CALLED Tony to see if he can shed some light on it. Recently Tony had his worker do some things for us. It's been about 1 1/2-2 weeks and didn't receive an invoice until YESTERDAY 9/17/2019. In the emailed invoice he stated he would want his money by tomorrow. My husband called Tony to reduce the price, and he did to 1,850 (I'm sure it's void now since it was over the phone and no written proof). During the phone call my husband, as a business owner to another business owner, informed Tony that his business should NOT be conducted in that manor. No quotes, sending invoices very late, expecting payment as invoice is sent. You give an invoice within a couple of days after completing a job. A week and a half/ 2 weeks is unacceptable and unprofessional. And you usually give max 30 days to make payment, not request it be paid the following day. He did not take the constructive criticism well, in fact he called back and stated he refuses to do work for us after we pay him. Now, today, 9/18/2019 Tony sent my husband another text saying if he doesn't get half the payment of $2,149.68 he will take matters further. Not understanding what that means since we received an invoice yesterday. This is a review to make people aware that this was something we dealt with every job with Tony. Good Luck to everyone!
