--Untrustworthy Company Who Refuses to Take Responsibility and Has ZERO Customer Service-- I hired Valairco to repair my HVAC's ductwork as my air return makes a loud noise. The company believed that the noise was caused by having the intake too close to the motor and offered to replace my air return duct for $2,700 (see picture). Their plan was to extend the duct and do a 180degree turn so that the air travels longer and thus can reduce the noise. I trusted them and agreed the plan due to good reviews online, a decision which I deeply regret now Although the motor noise was slightly reduced right after the installation, I started to hear slamming/banging noise whenever the HVAC was turned on/off and a high pitched noise when the system was running. Even as a non-HVAC professional, I know that this commonly indicates that the ductwork was badly designed and not properly sized to allow enough air to flow into the system. I can even visually see that the new sheet metal duct severely contracts due to lack of return air (see picture) when the system is on. I can also see small holes around connecting areas where new ducts connecting to the HVAC machine or intake vents as the crew didn't seal/insulate any of those after the installation I called the company trying to explained the issue and asked them to come fix it, but the owner (Kevin) refused and instead insisted that I pay for any additional work because he claimed that the issue was not their problem and arguing that they were just "trying to hele me" as my old system was not properly designed, despite the fact that they actually removed all the old ductwork and nothings prevents them from properly sizing the new system (e.g. open new air return vent etc.). In fact, I didn't even ask them to come redesign my whole system - I simply asked them to come seal the connecting points and open a new intake vent without major changes to give it another try. Eventually, I had to pay another $~350 to have the team come over again to do exactly that (using silicone sealing the connecting points and open another air intake on the duct (see picture)) so that the system has no leak and has proper air return volume so the HVAC is not starving for air. Even the crew was sympathetic when they left the first time and thought the repair should be included (but I guessed it was not their decision) Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. I called the company dozens of times and got ghosted multiple times during the whole process starting from scheduling the first visit to the last repair and as a result the whole process lasted 6+ months (November 2020 to May 2021). The callbacks promised by the lady answering the phone were rarely followed up if any. The owner was also extremely rude and threatened to not send the crew come again if I insisted that it was their design and quality of work that caused the new problem - he just religiously believed that my old system was 100% of the issue and he, instead, just did me a favor giving it a try while charging me ~$2,700 (or ~$4, 000 in total if you add the second visit and a $~750 attic fan/ventilator that sells for $75 on Amazon) I certainly understand that there was no guarantee that the repair would solve 100% of my issue, however I would expect any decent company to take pride in their work and follow through on issues that clearly fall on their court (in this case, leaked duct and undersized system) when facing a dissatisfied customer. I was wrong making that assumption when hiring Valairco I'm still having the high pitch noise issue coming from the new ductwork as of today but I won't get back to Valairco. Whoever is reading this, please don't make the same $4,000 mistake that I made. read more

We used and recommended Valairco for many years. It wasn't until we had to sell our home that we learned that Valairco had not obtained the required permits for the equipment installed (furnace, ac,water heater). We obtained the permits retroactively. We failed the resultant inspection because the water heater was installed improperly. Valairco expressed ignorance of the township requirements. Our sale was stalled and we had substantial additional expenses to bring it up to passing inspection. read more

He explained the selection in detail and did not try to upsell me on a unit not necessary for my needs as many other providers did. The installation went very smoothly. The team was very professional, arrived exactly when promised, and left no traces of their work upon completion. Many other contractors I have used have left some type of damage to my home. All of my research has suggested that as there is little difference between most brands, so most important to find a service provider that will offer the best installation and continued service. Angie has Valairco listed as #1 in my area for home HVAC and my 30 year old York R-22 central ac has been leaking for a while. I had Valairco give me a quote to replace the air handler, and the outside compressor, condenser unit with a new unit that uses the new R410a Freon. The estimate seemed a bit high but I was surprised that I wasn't offered any refund for whatever R-22 they reclaimed from my old system. I started entertaining other quotes when I received an e-mail from Valairco. I responded and explained my disappointment for not being offered something for the reclaimed R-22. I got a phone call shortly after that and was told that if I could have it installed the following Friday they would reduce the price by $250.00. I agreed to have them install it. The day prior to installation a plumbing supply truck arrives in front of my home. The driver unloads all the parts for the job in the pouring down rain. I thought it was odd not to alert me since some items would not be helped by a good soaking. I put those inside. The installers arrived on 7:00 am on Friday. They started disassembling the old system. Two more men from Valairco arrived. It was decided that it was easiest to remove the attic ladder to make room to lift the new air handler into place. As soon as it was up the two additional guys left and for the next 9 1/2 hours the two installers worked in the attic and outdoors to finish the installation. Overall I am pleased with the competence of the installers. I am also pleased with how well the cleaned everything up after they were finished. The new raceway looks better and the thermostat has Automatic Changeover and Adaptive Intelligent Recovery which are nice features. They also do the first year preventative maintenance at no additional cost. There were no hidden costs and sales tax was included in the quoted price. I am not pleased with a few things. Valairco sucks at communication. I was told that it would be a two day install at time of quote but they completed it in one marathon day. The installers were surprised that the material had arrived a day prior to when it was scheduled. They changed the orientation of the air handler to make it easier to service. It isn't an issue but it would have been nice to be asked if I wanted it that way. My attic ladder was reinstalled with 5 bolts when it is drilled for 6. Maybe one was missing before they started or maybe they lost one. Either way they left it with 5 and did not tell me. The installers relocated the hole where the lines exit the attic through the soffit and patched the unused area with a piece of galvanized steel because they didn't have any white aluminum on their truck. Not only does it look like hell but when you screw unlike metals together you start a corrosive process. I'm not looking forward to seeing rust stains running down the side of my house. The attic routing of the copper and electric lines are hanging in midair and looks sloppy and amateur. Only one clamp holds it to a joist and it only has one screw. The rest of it hangs 6" below the joists for no reason and creates an unnecessary obstacle. Valairco does not know that I am displeased with because they never asked me. They have not been in touch with me except to get the balance of their money. There must be some awful companies out there if these guys are number 1. read more

I recently bought a home that was in need of substantial repairs. I priced out a new high-efficiency furnace with several companies in central New Jersey with great reputations. This work included moving a return vent for me to take out a structural wall. Valairco provided a quote for the work as well as providing different options for my air conditioner that needed servicing in the heat of August. The ladies in the office are always responsive and the new furnace was installed in late September, the ductwork completed, and I am comfortably cozy and can't wait to get my first heating bill!
