When I entered, no one greeted or acknowledged me. I eventually asked if anyone had availability and was told that all of the stylists had left for the day. I was asked to leave my number and told that "maybe someone will call you." I left my number but never heard back. I later came across Michelle's Instagram and contacted her directly. She was able to book me for a haircut a few days later. When I arrived for my appointment, there was a woman at the front desk on the phone who looked at me but didn't greet or acknowledge me. Since it was my first appointment there, I wasn't sure whether I needed to check in or wait. Even after she got off the phone, I still wasn't acknowledged. I sat down and noticed Michelle nearby on her phone. After sitting there for a couple of minutes without anyone saying anything, I finally got up and asked her if she was Michelle. Michelle was nice during the actual service, and I left her a generous tip. However, once I got home and looked more closely at my haircut, I noticed some long, thick sections in the front that I wanted adjusted. I messaged her and politely asked if she could fix them, even offering to pay extra if necessary. I never received a response. I ultimately went to Pomp Salon to have my hair corrected, and the difference in the customer experience was noticeable. My girlfriend is NOT A FAN of my cosmetological skills, or lack of same. I should rewind a bit. I have curly, sometimes frizzy, nasty hair. It has NEVER LOOKED RIGHT. I'd look at Patrick Dempsey, or Robb Stark, or Chalamet, and I'd say, "y'know what? I could look like that with the right combo of product." Nope. Thousands of dollars of products later, I have never achieved the look I was looking for, until today. Today I crossed paths with Amber Smith. Reportedly, she's the only one that does "guy hair" at Enlighten Salon. I told her my sad tale, she was very reassuring, and said "you'll see, you'll look great". And proceeded to give me (and I love my mom more than life itself) the best damn haircut I have ever received in damn near 50 years. She even taught me how to style it!!
