By chance saw a small article in local paper about Little Compton Adventures, not only does Dan give bike tours and bike rentals , we noticed that he was a dealer of New E bikes . After calling and making a appointment with him to go over every aspect of a E bike , take a test ride and answering many questions we had We felt overwhelmed with the personal service Dan provided . I wandered upon this greenway while in the area and did a little research to find out more…read more According to the RIDOT, the Fred Lippett Woonasquatucket River Greenway is a 'vital link for biking to work or school for residents in Providence and Johnston.' This is what we need more of! Ways for the local community to get where they need to go that doesn't require getting into a car! It has been proven when safe biking options are available, more people will ride their bikes and I definitely support efforts for biking and walking safely in cities. Have you been to cities where some of the streets are free of cars, for pedestrian use only? Don't you just love those areas? I know I do. These pathways serve local residents, help reduce dependence on fossil fuel vehicles and offer green spaces much needed in a city environment. The pathway uses brown and green signs to keep you on track, sidewalk space, surface roads in mostly residential areas and designated pathways. There are greenscaped areas along the way for sitting/resting and on the day we walked part of the pathway, most of these areas were being utilized. If you are not local to the bike path, and would like to drive part of your commute, and bike the rest, there are parking areas on Aleppo Street in Providence and Hillside Ave in Johnston. I only walked the area in East Providence near the troll, so I can't speak for the whole path, but this area offers a nice view of the waterfront. I've seen other posts complain about ticks, but the areas off path seemed trimmed and maintained, so it didn't seem to be an issue. Even as crowded as it was, bicyclists were flying along the path, so be careful.

There are beautiful water views along a lot of the way. It's also mostly flat with just a few small hills so it's very beginner friendly and kids can do it. There's a Del's lemonade stand right off the path in Warren where we usually stop for a refreshing frozen lemonade or ice tea along the way. There's also a taco trailer behind the Del's which is open seasonally but I haven't tried them yet. It gets pretty crowded on sunny weekends but it's so fun and everyone is in good spirits.

This place is located around the side and underneath a building that houses a hair salon. Not very visible from the road. I opted for the So Mix class - 1/2 spin and 1/2 weights. It was everything I like in a spin class - dark room, loud music, bike dancing. There were clearly a lot of regulars in the room...if you're nervous about "keeping up," maybe don't opt for the front row. The weights session was a nice mix of exercises with 5-10 lb weights. Also, they have SPD shoes to borrow. Apparently no one else uses the little lockers in the lobby. Overall a great class - would definitely come back!
