Providence Park is one of those venues that justifies its reputation the moment you walk in. We've sat all over the stadium over the years, and it's hard to beat the fieldside seats, although there are a few other options that will still get you solid sightlines. For the lower bowl, try sections 117-119 (midfield) or the first 15 rows of the upper East or West stands, to avoid the overhang affecting your view. The North End supporters sections (101-108, for both the Thorns and the Timbers) are an experience unto themselves if you want to be inside the atmosphere rather than watching it: just know it's standing-only and loud by design. Practical notes before you go: the venue is fully cashless, your match ticket doubles as TriMet fare for up to three hours before and after the game, and the bag policy is strict: clear bags can't be larger than 14"w x 14"h x 6"d, and non-clear bags are limited to 4.5" x 6.5". The easiest move is to skip the bag entirely if you can. Lockers are available outside Gates B, D, and F (via the Droplocker app) for $15 if you need them. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip at least once. It's the kind of venue that makes you a soccer fan even if you weren't one walking in. read more

Providence Park is a clean venue, adequately staffed with friendly staff in Downtown Portland. It's easy to get there any way you decide to go. We went to see the Thorns vs. Wave. The game was good. We sat in the Toyota Terrace. Food was not very expensive. The pretzels were pretty salty though. It wasn't my first time there and won't be my last. read more

I went here to see my first Hornets game. The venue itself was ok but the seats were too close together so my long legs with a drink and burrito was a bit much. The seats were made for people with very short legs. That was a drag but overall the stadium and bathrooms were really nice. Service was friendly. Drinks are expensive but what else is new. read more

Luckily we went to see the Timbers vs RSL game on our trip to Portland. We had good seats next to GA and were near the music, drums and die hard fans. The stadium is nice, not too large, the seats are bleacher style, so not much comfort. Sadly the Timbers lost but the game was exciting. There's a nice offering of brews and grub. I am up in the BB nosebleeds, but considering how loud it is up here, any closer my ears would be bleeding lol So this show was back on September 25. I was practically at the top of the stadium in the corner. Not to mention there was a steel pole in my line of vision, but for $47 this had to be one of the best deals for a concert. Let me go down the lineup that I experienced. 1) The Linda Lindas: Now I had only heard of this group when the concert was announced. They are a group of 4 girls. They play hard core punk and I have to admit they were pretty damn good. They played a small set, but they killed it, and from the looks of it they are Headlining a tour in 2025. 2) Rancid: Now this band was formed in 1991...this the year that I graduated High School...needless to say they are one of the "OG" punk groups. They went harder because they have way more experience. They did make us novices sing along with the MTV hits "Ruby SoHo" and "Time Bomb". 3) Smashing Pumpkins: Now this was getting to the real "meat" of the show. They played lots of music from their discography. They played tons of popular hits and some deep tracks. The icing on the cake was hearing "Zero" live. Billy Corgan is an amazing performer. Their newest guitarist is a fox as well lol 4) GREEN DAY: Finally the band that I have been wanting to see for years. These guys have been rocking for decades. This was the Saviors Tour, but they played "Dookie" and "American Idiot" both in their entirety. They mixed some other songs in there too, but Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool gave everything they had. Not to mention Billie Joe politely asked people to put their phones away. "I swear, your friends will believe that you were here." Freaking brilliant. I would have loved to see Foo Fighters , but this show was definitely one of my favorites read more

The bathrooms for the club level have speakers for when the timber's score a goal. The service was amazing with people opening the door for you, and others telling you where everything is. The environment was friendly. They had a merch stand in club level but you can also take elevators to lower levels if you want to visit the bigger store. Overall a great night. read more

For the third year in a row, I applied to work here as a cashier at their retail store, but when I went to the job fair, I was told the position had already been filled, and that they do that to cast a wider net to then bait and switch you at the interview itself after the bait switch. I was offered a food and beer concessions cashier job but then I was told the next day it cost $100 in feesfor the necessary permits and when I told them I was too poor and didn't even have food and could not afford it they never even responded. I know I'm a nobody, but I'll never watch a Timbers game again and a boycott this park and anything to do with Portland sports for the rest of my life. America is truly evil. read more

We saw a Thorns game here and sat in the FAN section. I've never had so much fun cheering a sport and I LOVE "football" (to be clear, NOT soccer,) hockey, basketball and I've just gotten into baseball. But I don't "get" the appeal of soccer lol. I could have watched two games there. The atmosphere is electric. Kids LOVED it. People were super friendly and everyone was just having a blast. HIGHLY recommend to even a non-fan!!! Wow. This place was absolutely amazing. Our first time at the venue did not disappoint. The signs are easy to find directing you to your seats. There does not appear to be a bad seat in the house. The entire staff was friendly. The restrooms were clean. I'm not quite sure what else you would want from a sports venue. While there was a lot of construction outside the venue, it did not feel congested. The only real complaint was that the Lyft pick up stations were not at all marked. Being brand new to the area I had no idea where to go to get picked up for a ride. Normally I won't combine two separate companies into one review but it appears that Lyft has a partnership with the venue. So if you're planning on coming down to the venue, be sure you know where to get picked up and dropped off before hand read more

The Tanner ridge section of providence park is amazing!!! We had four tickets to the thorns vs reign and entered through the A GATE, we were in the building in less then 2 minutes and the line on the other side was down the block. Never being to a soccer game before or to Providence park we got lost right away, but a helpful staff member escorted us to the correct area that was only accessible by elevator, when the elevator door opened we were greeted immediately by staff who explained what all our tickets have included with them and OMGOODNESS what a surprise to learn all snacks were free we had chicken nachos, candy and unlimited water and drinks! And at the 90 minute mark they brought out a dessert of donuts! Best sports event I have ever been too and i cannot wait to go again. The ambiance was astounding cheers from the crowd were loud. I came here tonight for a thorns game and was blow away. The view from the box seats were amazing. You can see everything very well, and there's several tvs in the rooms to watch replays as will as a live tv to the game. Food was amazing. We ordered hotdogs, a ceaser, chips, and popcorn and it easily fed all of us and more. The staff were friendly, great help, and I enjoyed talking with them and the help they gave us. Checking into the park, don't bring a bag!! Ladies your Lulu belt bags are toooooo big!! Get a clear bag!! I'm excited for summer and watching all the women's soccer games! read more

We've been here for so many soccer games over the years and we always love coming back. The fan experience here is unmatched at any of the other MLS stadiums I've been to. That being said, the food options are somewhat limited (not to mention typical stadium pricing). The concourses in parts of the stadium are narrow and hard to navigate during times of high foot traffic. There are also a number of seats where you need to either sit by a pole or look around one to get a good view of the pitch. read more

This was my first visit to Providence Park. Purchased tickets for a group of us to attend a Portland Timbers Playoff game. Parking: Prepaid for valet parking a few blocks away and walked on over. Seating: Fantastic. It appears that every seat has a great view. If you are looking for a rowdy time, purchase the tickets in the Timbers Army section (drums, smoke, chants, chainsaw, dancing, etc). Food: Although they have quite a selection of snacks, they weren't prepared for the crowds at halftime. I was able to place an order ahead of time, but they didn't have enough staff to handle the crowds that were just picking up their pre-ordered food. Right in the middle of the city by the Alphabet district, Providence Park is a great place to watch sporting events. It's so much fun! Sure hope we can do it again soon! They did a fantastic job with the remodel; the stadium is modern and absolutely gorgeous. The seats are comfortable and have lots of leg room allowing people to get in and out without everyone having to stand up. No matter where you sit, there is a great view of the field and the huge screens. There is a variety of new food options that go beyond just hot dogs and popcorn. And of course there are lots of beer options and some hard ciders, which I prefer. Most important, at least for me, the bathrooms are clean. On a warm sunny day or evening, it's the perfect place to be! Timber games are always sold out and the crowd is rowdy, especially the Army that sits on the north side of the stadium. I get a kick out of watching them; they stand and chant one song after the other the entire game. That's dedication! Whether you go early or on time, there will be long line to get in but the process is efficient and the line moves quickly. Once inside the stadium, it's easy to find your section and seats. Right on the Max line, many people take public transportation as parking is a challenge, there is no way around it. Usually have to park several blocks away. Pay attention to the rules on the parking meters. You have to pay past 7pm and the price is higher per dollar on game days/nights. On a warm summer evening or a crisp fall day, it's the perfect place to be! The green field stands out against a bright blue sky and is so beautiful. We were here for the Post Malone/Jelly Roll concert and I have never in my life experienced such an insane situation getting into a concert. There was absolutely no crowd/line control getting in. Once we got up to the security check, I guess they were just trying to mitigate how long it was taking to get everyone inside, so they did not check bags at all, and completely ignored the metal detectors going off right and left. As my daughter said, "security is nonexistent here." Once we got past the metal detectors, we could not move. AT ALL. There were so many people crowded onto the walkway that it was like being in a mosh pit, and that is no exaggeration. We had to just shove our way past people to move a few inches. It took 30 minutes to get from the "security checkpoint" to our seats. I did give two stars because once we got to our seats, the venue is beautiful and comfortable. The sound quality wasn't great but with 32,000 people I guess that's to be expected. read more

Back in the day I used to watch a lot of baseball here at this stadium, some soccer as well over the years. They did a phenomenal job redesigning/remodeling the park into what it is today and overall it is a pretty good spot to watch a sporting event - be it like all soccer now. I support and appreciate the Portland Timbers - always have in all iterations of the franchise - this one is no different. If you are not a Timbers fan and support the visiting team, my word of caution to you would be to NOT sit near the Timber Army as they are less than nice for the most part. Portland fans can be unpleasant no matter what the sport, the Timber fans are no exception. read more

My brother in law took me to my fist soccer game here and what an experience it was! We were in the upper decks which was a bit of a hike, but once in our seats the view of the game was awesome! The Timber Army was relentless in their zeal and awe inspiring to watch. On the other side of the stadium (the older section) my brother in law said there were seats behind posts which could obstruct the views of the field, but from where we were that wasn't an issue and the sun set moments before the game which reduced the glare. The stadium was the cleanest I have ever been in without a doubt, and while people were drinking beer there weren't a bunch of drunk loudmouths spoiling it for others as you typically find at sporting events, especially in Arizona. Overall it was a great game (we won) and I really liked the layout and feel of the stadium. It's a smaller stadium and doesn't hold a huge crowd, but that only helped the general feel of camaraderie in the place in my opinion. read more

This is really cool gigantic stadium! I interacted with many staff members and they were all incredibly pleasant and helpful. I've been to a few stadiums before and my only issue is that when you walk around the whole stadium you can't see the game inside (except for small door peeks). That allows for their ample seating though so not necessarily a bad thing. I just like walking around during games. The concessions area can get frighteningly packed and you're just standing still like a sardine waiting for a small opening in the crowd so you can get through. I'm usually great at getting through large crowds and was struggling here. Feels like a safety hazard but not much you can do about it. My jaw literally dropped when I paid about $50 for 3 beers + tip but I'm not used to stadium pricing. They require covid Vax info so make sure you have that handy! read more

The foo fighters were great as always. But the venue was horrible. First we bought what were labeled as "Floor" tickets, however when we made our way to the floor we found that they had put out folding chairs and we had assigned seats. Floor means floor...we expected to be standing in a crowd. The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable, and so close together. Why have chairs on the floor? Could have sold more tickets by removing the chairs and making room for more people. Not to mention that it's a better experience to be in the crowd. We paid extra money for (what we thought) were "Floor" tickets, and ended up with a more uncomfortable and worse view than regular stadium seats. Also, the venue seemed really unorganized. There were lines to get into lines, and no clear signage for people to follow. Also, we were relegated to 2 entrances since we had "Floor" seats. We wait in that line and go through security, and are told we need to get in another line to get wristbands. This line was just in the middle of the concourse with no signage or organization. This was made worse because there were two other lines right there: one for merch and one for beer. If we had specific security lines for "Floor", why not have the wristbands handed out there? The second line seemed unnecessary and confusing. All-in-all the music was great, the sound was good. But it was confusing, chaotic, uncomfortable, and a little deceptive. The worst show I've ever been to, which is such a bummer because the band is one of my favorites. read more

So the whole harbour jumped out of a plane. We found the ships, and the shipyards, but where did the Port land? And a pig jumped out too, so where did the pork land? The Portland stadium is an absolute credit to the region, and it's the oldest soccer stadium in the country, and houses both the Thorns and the legendary Timbers. It's a region that doesn't have many real big name professional sports teams and the Timbers are one of the pride and joys of Oregon. They are also former Champions and when they play in the stadium it's honestly very hard for anyone to beat them. It is close to downtown and utterly amazing. We're going down, I'm yelling Timbers. Well I am not personally a fan of Portland and while I'm not personally a fan of this team I do have to say that it makes me proud see that an American football team can get such a passionate following in a definitively nontraditional and smaller market, for that matter. But Portland is a real boomtown and it shows in the obsessive raucous support for this club. I've been very impressed by everything I've seen from the Pacific Northwest MLS and long may it continue. It's been nothing short of amazing what Seattle and then Portland have done for the league. They're now integral to the league and great rivals and so they should be. It's been such an organic rise to prominence (sorry if I sound like a hipster but hey, it's Portland) and I have nothing but admiration for them and their amazing support as well. read more

I have season tickets for Thorns games and the games are always fun to watch and the crowd is amazing. A great game day experience. Never had an issues with any employees. However, concessions are overpriced (not a unique thing but typical for sports venues) and there should be grass instead of turf, so I can't give the physical venue 5 stars read more

Came here for a Thorns game with my young daughter and we had a great experience. Entry was a cinch - we were through within seconds, which included the COVID check. Once inside, we easily found our seats with the help of staff. The stadium is very nice, modern, and clean. Only complaint was trying to get food in between halves - the lines were insane. After the renovations this park is gorgeous! I have always enjoyed coming to this stadium. Sitting in the Timbers Army is usually awesome and my first choice but this time there was some political problems between the fans and MLS from what I could understand. It made it very difficult to just enjoy the game regardless if I supported the position or not. Many of the spectators were very angry about the signs in the field of view. Ultimately, we left at half and watched the rest of the game from the bar across the street. Well probably be back. I'm sure this will blow over in time. read more

I love coming to Providence Park to watch the Portland Timbers, the Portland Thorns and T2 soccer. We ARE Soccer City, USA! And we have a great place to watch games. The staff at Providence Park are some really lovely people and have been very helpful to me personally many times when I got into the stadium and realized I was in a bind because I forgot...X. I was surprised to read someone complain about the food selections - it's a stadium and you're a captive audience so of course the prices are higher than off the street, but the food is actually pretty good! We have a rotating food cart option during Timbers matches and many vegan/vegetarian options such as field roast burgers and field roast sausages. There is also happy hour if you arrive early and need to save some ducats. If you find yourself in Portland, try to make it to a Timbers or Thorns match at Providence Park - it will be an experience you won't forget! read more

It's always amazing to me how much I don't know about my hometown's history until I go to research it on Google, but Providence Park has a fairly lengthy history even with the participation of a couple of U.S. Presidents. It was originally built in 1893 as an extension of the Multnomah Athletic Club. Theodore Roosevelt set a plaque under the foundation, and William Howard Taft gave a speech there. My involvement with the then PGE Park was in high school when I and a bunch of friends came down to spy on Kurt Russell. His dad. Bing Russell, owned The Portland Mavericks, a farm team for a major league team. I did see Kurt Russell, but he was too busy practicing baseball to pay attention to a bunch of high school girls. I also came back during summers home from college to see Beach Boy concerts which was great fun. Twirling the dial forward to the summer of 2011, I was living in the apartment building across the street and had the chance to watch the transformation of PGE Park to Providence Park now under the ownership of Merritt Paulsen. He is the owner of the MLS Soccer team, The Portland Timbers (male) and The Portland Roses (female). Portland went soccer-crazy and this has become one of the hottest tickets in town, especially since the Timbers have won the MLS championship three years! In fact they've expanded the bleacher seating by quite a lot and added covered seating. So there you go. Timber and Thorns fans are a jolly bunch and always seem to have a lot of fun. So let's get busy and go see them some time because I've never been to see them. I know; my bad! read more

great arena to see a match. Clean, Lots of facilities, easy access from public transpo. and I feel they are quick to get people in and out for the events. My only complaint is the beer price. $13/beer. But the servings are larger than a usual pint and it's an EVENT, so that's that. Great Beer selection, too. If you don't see something you fancy in one beer stand, try the next one. I feel all the seating is pretty generous for a good view. The seats could use a cupholder though. read more

Attended 10 home games for the Portland Timbers this year. The newly renovated stadium has improved the fan experience. The three new deck above Key Bank section are cleaner, less crowded, and with shorter wait times for concessions and restrooms than the rest of the stadium. If you can splurge on Tanner Ridge tickets, get there early and enjoy the elevated experience. I've sat all over the stadium. Tanner Ridge is my favorite, but my 11 year old son prefers seats on the pitch directly behind the goal. read more
