This place will kill your family memebers. My dad aspirated and wouldn't call the paramedics. Don't trust this place

My wife and I have been living at the Kensington-Redondo for three years now, and its services and…read moreloving care for residents continue to impress me. My wife lives in the second-floor Haven - advanced Alzheimer's - community. We have yet to meet a staff member who is not competent and courteous and caring. My wife has reached the point where she has become wheelchair bound. The staff quickly assembled the chair I bought for her. There were difficulties in doing so, but they persisted instead of letting responsibility fall back on me. I greatly appreciate what they did. I am not the least bit mechanically inclined; I have trouble setting my watch. More importantly, they trained her in wheelchair use and safety, always patient, encouraging, and friendly. In my own case, I was recently informed that a room will become available in early April that will be substantially less expensive than the one I now occupy, and I will move into it then. My point is that the Kensington realizes how expensive memory care and assisted living can be and strives to ease the financial burden on its residents whenever the opportunity presents itself. I am also compelled to mention the first-class medical monitoring and care that followed my return to the Kensington after two weeks in the hospital recovering from colon cancer surgery. The Kensington's quality is self-evident. I regularly meet new residents whose families had originally placed them in a different local facility and then later decided to move them here. If you have a loved one who needs residential care, I cannot strongly enough recommend the Kensington. Gary Hartzell

It is so beautiful and high-quality in what it offers in terms of restaurant options, beautiful gardens, lovely rooms with high ceilings, impeccable furnishings, and cleanliness. And the people are so attentive and kind that I'm assuming the care is excellent. Tiffany was kind enough to give us two full tours, and the second time sent me off with a sweet bottle of wine. In appearance and ambience, it compares to a five star hotel, which provides live music, art classes and a small library, to boot! If it does ever happen that one of us needs extended care, this place would be our top choice.

She was prescribed Norco and Gabapentin to manage post-surgical pain, which left her in a weakened state, and she was discharged to a rehabilitation facility of our choosing. After touring several facilities from Providence's recommended list, we selected Beachside Post Acute. We chose Beachside because we needed a facility that specializes in both physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT). It's a cozy, thoughtfully designed property in a breezy part of Torrance, conveniently located near both Walgreens and CVS. The building appears to have been a converted motor lodge, with a single-level layout that wraps around a central outdoor courtyard. This design allows each room to have either a window or sliding glass door, providing natural light and fresh air--something we found especially valuable. The PT staff have access to a dedicated room with specialized equipment, and both the main corridor and courtyard are used for assisted therapy sessions. There's also a recreation room and dining area where patients can enjoy meals outside their rooms, offering a welcome change of scenery. The kitchen serves nutritious, genuinely tasty meals--I can personally attest to that. What truly sets Beachside apart is the staff. They are compassionate, attentive, and clearly take pride in their work. To those who may read this--Susan, Marisol, Julius, Eva, Kimberly, Bryan, Alyssa, and everyone else--thank you. You made a difficult experience far more manageable, and we are deeply grateful.

The nursing staff is attentive - at least from what I can tell when I'm there. They have a activity room and a calendar of events is posted in the front by lobby. One poor thing about Beachside are returning calls they don't even if you get someone to take a message. Nobody seems knows how to use their voice mail. The best way to reach someone is to get them during business hours or show up on site. Don't expect a return call if you get routed to voice mail.

NLH doesn't just teach the boys to stay sober, it teaches them life skills, it teaches them to be productive, independent, loving, caring, and giving. NLH is not done with the boys when they graduate the program, these boys stay connected to the house. They go back for meeting and house events. The families stay involved and connected with the house after graduation. 8 years later, we still go to the alumni dinners, holiday party, summer picnic. The boys who went through the house with my son's 8 years ago are his best friends . They gather for weekly dinners, go on trips together, and spend quality time together. I can't say enough good things about New Life. Most of the people who work there are graduates of the house so they understand the house and the boys more than anyone else would. They do it because they care and love what they do. They help the families throughout the whole process. It is worth the money and the time spent there. Our family is forever grateful for New Life House.
