Went for a triple birthday dinner with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend from out of state, we are celebrating the birthdays that are coming up this week. Shelby was our waitress, she was awesome from start to finish. It was late in the evening, 8:30 and was very slow and very empty. In the room next to ours was a mom, her friend and her very cute baby. Ordered toasted raviolis which were fantastic. I spotted the manager, Ryan, went over to him and notified him that the boyfriend's birthday was coming up... can we do an ice cream for him? He said get me his drivers license. I said never mind, we wanted to surprise him. Not a big deal. Just was put off at his attitude and that he wanted to card and id someone for a few dollar bowl of ice cream. Not very good people skills. Meals were ordered, food delivered. Shelby was right on top of the drinks, salad, bread... At one point our waitress stepped into the next room was held the baby so mom could get a bite to eat. I recall this happening when my daughter young, was always welcoming so we could get a few quick bites down. We witnessed Ryan very rudely telling Shelby to put the baby down, 'if you drop the kid we will get sued' and 'you have customers to take care of'. Folks, we were perfectly fine eating our main course at that time and did not need anything. I did not know my daughter talked to the female manager/hostess about the birthdays. At the end of the Shelby brought out ice cream, one with a candle. Was very sweet. When the bill came Shelby asked for the drivers license to apply the 'discount'.....we saw a ruckus by the ordering computer with you know who....Ryan....she came over and very apologetically stated that she was so sorry but she could not comp the ice cream and that she was told we would, have to come back later in the week on the actual birthday. I can promise one thing for sure, I will NOT be going back to this Provinos as long as Ryan is a manager. We have been a customer since 2005. Ryan is rude, condescending, undermined the manager/hostess, and absolutely cheap. It's not about a couple bucks of ice cream....we spent over $150 on the meals, it's bout how NOT to handle a customer, and certainly not to deal,with your employees in front of customers. read more

The waiter let me try the Cavit Riesling, which was crisp and fruity, so I ordered a glass. It went well with my shrimp and scallop Alfredo pasta. The shrimp was fine. Scallops were tasty, and the pasta itself was al dente, which was good. My fiancé had the zita al mondo. It had good flavor and decent portion size. Enjoyed the ground beef. It could go either way if we go back. We were sat in the cut with the Godfather photos, so it tried to give a vibe. But mostly it just was missing something. read more

Came in on my birthday last year too & both times spent a little more. And got a TON of food (leftovers - yay)! Got such good service this year, even though I was dining alone this year. Our first visit with our kids who had been before and raved about it. Unfortunately it was just okay at least for my taste buds. The restaurant is tucked in a strip mall with ample parking. There are no windows to look outside once inside the restaurant, but it gave it a lovely ambiance inside. I did love the feeling inside, quaint and cozy with a step-back-in-time. Lots of old pics of famous actors hanging all over the walls, very nostalgic. The inside is quite large with various rooms that hold lots of tables and people. We were seated in the library room (what I call it). Nice and roomy with great lighting. Our waiter was good, tend to talk too much for my liking. However he was very informative, but felt like he needed to tell us stories. lol Wasn't sure what kind of white wine I wanted and asked for a small taste of a couple, but he brought me over small tastes of all the whites which was very nice and unexpected. My husband and I wanted something basic and selected spaghetti with Mariana meat sauce. I have to be honest, it was just mehhh! The Mariana sauce was good but the meat was pulverized into very, very, very small pieces which to me wasn't very appetizing. The flavor was also just okay. My SIL ordered his favorite, lasagna and seemed to enjoy it. The salad that accompanies your meal was drenched in dressing which was way to me for me, but I ate it because I enjoyed all things that came in the salad (see pic). Beets are usually never in a salad and we love them so great job on that one. We also didn't really enjoy the rolls since they were swimming in melted butter (see pic). Definitely love bread with our Italian food and ate them for that very reason but I most likely will not be back. I know there are other Italian restaurants local so I'd like to give those a try. Last but not least, our spumoni with the shortbread cookie was delish. I'm glad we gave Provino's a shot since we see them advertised on the big billboards, but not sure if I'll return any time soon. read more

A friend and I had dinner on 05/20/26 at this Provino's at the Cumming location. when we were almost finished with our dinner. a bug just ran across our table. my friend killed the bug with her napkin and alerted our server. His attitude was somewhat casual with no bringing the Manager into the discussion. This is serious, having a bug in a dining location, and we were quite upset. We will not be eating at this location anytime soon and feel that management should take this quite seriously. I have eaten here several times in the past without incident, and hate to see this happen. it's hard to forget this and think Provino's needs to take action to correct this. If see one bug, there are many you don't see. read more

I visited Provino's in Cumming for my husband's birthday dinner a Saturday afternoon and got quickly seated. This place has a vintage vibe, very pretty and clean inside. After we got our table, the first thing she brought was unlimited free salad and garlic rolls. The salad is amazing, and the garlic rolls... OMG! We also ordered a bottle of wine and they got really good deals. We got our drinks pretty quickly and we proceeded to order. I got the Seafood Trio Pasta with Marinara sauce which comes with Shrimp, Scallops and Clams and it was okay. My husband ordered the Chicken Romano which comes with Ham, Cheese, Mushrooms and Wine Sauce. It tasted good, but honestly looked not so great. Also, you still get a free meal on the actual day of your birthday! I love the vibe of this place and the ambiance is great, my biggest issue is their food. It;s just not great. Went there with family for my birthday. They're famous for giving you a free dinner on your birthday. At one time you could get anything on the menu for free, but now they only give you $14.50 off any item. I had the fettuccini with shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were like rubber and the scallops were tiny nothings. At one time the food here was incredible. Now, it tastes very pre prepared and microwaved. The salad was the only thing I enjoyed. I had not been to a provinos is many many years. A long time ago, this was my favorite spot and I would go at least once a week. I was very exited about going here. It was a Sunday night and it was very busy. There was a 30 minute wait. The younger hostess didn't seem to like her job, but it provided entertainment while we waited. The service was good and the food came quickly. We ordered an appetizer sampler which was nice. The garlic rolls were just as good as I remembered. The salad was nice, but on the small size. We never could order another one because our waiter was too busy. I ordered the Angel Hair Dalvina. It has always been me of my favs of all restaurants. It was so disappointing. They now cover the noodles with what looks Like an Alfredo sauce. It is supposed to be a garlic butter sauce. It doesn't have the peas anymore either. So sad. read more

The ambiance is fine and would make an excellent choice for a date or romantic dinner. We came here tonight to try this restaurant for my dad's 82nd birthday. He loves Italian food and we had yet to find a spot that he really enjoyed....until tonight! First of all, our server Susan is a rock star, she's the mayor here because everyone knows her. We ordered some wine, and then received the lightest garlic rolls in garlic butter sauce. The salad we shared was delicious with the vinaigrette that came with it. Not your average salad. Tomatoes, cucumbers, chick peas, beets, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese- we were concerned about filling up but nobody could stop. For entrees: my dad got the cioppino that came with linguini on the bottom of the pan, my mother went for the red snapper Francese with a side of pasta with red sauce, and I had the scampi shrimp with pasta and garlic sauce over Angel hair pasta. I destroyed my dish. So tasty. The restaurant has been open for a while. It has an old school vibe so if you want bright, vibrant ambiance this isn't it. But it's cozy, the food and service is great. We went with two desserts. The limoncello cake and the panna cotta. Both were incredible, not super heavy and each had fantastic flavor. For a first time, we were so happy. On a Friday night, they were not that busy. Parking for EV charging stations right up front that no one was using. Our hostess was very nice, happy and even humoring my remarks about the ev charging stations being empty. Our waiter showed up pretty son, we ordered drinks and when he got back we placed our order. At this place when ypu order an entree per person it comes with a sharable salad and garlic rolls. She ordered the Pasta Delvina and I ordered the Spaghetti with meatsauce and I added a combo topping but only wanted sausage and meatball and no mushrooms . So our salad and rolls came quick but our meal did not come. While he was honest and told us he failed to put our order in, as indicated by "SOS" on our entree entrees. But sadly, it came out with mushroons all over it. I was hungry, so I picked them off and he then noticed after a pile of mushrooms on the side of my plate. My was was completely empty 3 times during dinner. I watched two other tables have food brought to them, but it was not theirs. Training is needed here. Chef and owner, please taste your dishes for proper seasoning and reconsider the amount of liquid in everything. The rolls, salad, pasta, literally everything is swimming in liquid. The salad contained pickled beets and they were a delicious addition. The salad was the star of the show, and should not have been. The linguini and clam sauce was presented more like a soup, filled to the brim with liquid and lacked flavor. We dine out a lot, and often find the food to be too salty. I cannot recall the last time I picked up a salt shaker while dining out, but I salted this dish, not once, but twice. Then dumped into the clam sauce, the abundance of garlic and butter from the bowl of drenched rolls to make it edible. Chef was generous with the clams, but I needed the fork to strain them from the abundance of liquid. My husband enjoyed the Shrimp Fra Diavlo, but the sauce to pasta ratio was crazy. I like how the dining room is broken up into different eclectic areas. It is a great layout to accommodate several large parties. read more

We brought our 92-year-old grandmother in for her birthday dinner, the night before her actual birthday because it was the only time we could get the family together. She was asked to present her ID for her free birthday meal, which was no problem. The waitress took the ID to her manager and evidently, the manager said they were unable to offer the meal because it wasn't her actual birthday. We were dumbfounded. Paying for a $19 meal wasn't the issue at all, it's the fact that her birthday was the next day. The manager also sent the sweet waitress out to tell us the news and offered an ice cream. IMO the manager himself should have come to our table personally to speak with us. I never leave negative reviews, I only ever come here to read reviews and make positive reviews. If it's a corporate rule, fine, but the manager should have come to speak with us. read more

We decided to try Provino's in Cumming Ga. We sadly won't return. We got take out. Upon entering the place it was really nice looking and the atmosphere was lovely. The front pick up staff were so friendly and gracious. That was a bonus. The food was very bland and had no flavor what so ever. The portions were very tiny compared to other Italian places. The house salad and house dressing were so very bland. We had to add salt to everything we touched. We ordered fettuccine Alfredo , spicy shrimp and pasta and a chicken piccata like dish. My husband's meal was so watery and no spice at all. The fettuccine was so bland and not creamy at all or Parmesan tasting at all. . I had to add my own seasoning to it at home. The buns were lovely though but very tiny. My son loved them. I will say for take out the amount of salad you get and buns were great. We had plenty of left over of those things. I wanted to really like this place because it was affordable and close by. But sadly it wasn't great or ever really good. We won't be back. read more

We have always been pleased with the service and until a couple of months ago, we loved the food. Don't know if you are trying new recipes or have a different chef, but things just are not the same. In 2010, I was lucky enough to have my husband introduced me to Provino's located in Roswell Georgia which was an unforgettable experience and the food was amazing! I have to say, that's the Provino's up here in Cumming is a beautiful place to visit but the food is very bland. If the Veal did not have the wine sauce it would've been tasteless. First, our server was rocking!!!! She was so amazing. She had at least 2 parties of around 12 people Friday night. Man, she killed it. Kept our drinks filled, made sure everyone was good. She didn't mind our toddlers and daughter having a dance party when everyone else left and it was just us in the room. She was so cool. The food was good. I liked the bread with butter and garlic. I got the Alfredo Provino. The Alfredo was decent. I am super picky about Alfredo sauce, and I actually didn't mind it. It didn't taste like it came out of a can. Provino's brings back many fond memories for me. Ever since being introduced by my aunt and uncle to the Chattanooga location, I eagerly awaited its arrival in my hometown. Being able to return years later and experience the same great taste as always is comforting. My latest visit was for my birthday, which gets you a free entree (up to a certain value) and an Italian ice cream treat. I always munch on those addictive garlic yeast rolls (though I cannot eat as many as I once could) and salad before getting my favorite, the cannelloni and bianca. I've tried several of their dishes in the past, but I always enjoyed the creaminess this dish delivered and have made this my go-to. This is hard to review without the lens of bias, but Provino's continues to be a treat whenever I dine! Their first day serving dine-in patrons following the shutdown was my birthday, so I felt even more special! Come here for a reasonably priced and delicious Italian meal, just don't go overboard with the rolls (if you can help it)! read more
