This was the second time we visited the place. Food is decent, but, service was a miss. Our server was alright. She took our order initially, and then the person checking on us, was a different server. Our waitress came back to us in the end with the check, however, my we had had to stop her and ask my boys if we needed to get any deserts. The waitress immediately asked oh, do you need to order any deserts? Shouldn't she have checked in with us prior getting the check? She never checked on us anytime during the meal too. We ordered from uber eats and typically the quality of the food suffers quite a bit when doing so. If this food suffered at all it was lost on us. We were blown away by the pad Thai. It was piping hot, a generous portion, and absolutely delicious. It was so flavorful and had enough sauce. The crispy tofu was perfect and not everywhere adds it. We got the pad Thai with shrimp and they were huge, plump, and perfectly cooked. The grilled chicken and soy was great. It wasn't my favorite preparation of Thai grilled chicken but it was perfectly delicious and the sauce was fantastic. The portion was quite small for the price point, but otherwise it is something you should totally try. We also got the cashew chicken. It was a good size and pretty tasty. We really enjoyed dinner and look forward to ordering again so we can try a few more dishes! The restaurant looks absolutely beautiful and the cocktails look fantastic so it is certainly somewhere we'd love to visit in person, too, when our littles allow us! read more

Restaurants in Alpharetta keep getting better and better. Now I found my favorite Thai cuisine restaurant. I happened upon Pru Thai Kitchen on my coffee run today, having just opened last week. Pru Thai is in the strip across Old Milton from Avalon. Having been to Thailand many times and knowing great Thai food from average American Thai food, tasting the food from Pru took me back to the best restaurants in Thailand. Eating abroad and always wishing that they would open a restaurant just like it in the Georgia, came true. Pru doesn't mix in Chinese or Sushi or any other cuisine, they focus on Thai food and great authentic flavors with a menu that will have me coming back to try every dish. Tonight, I started with the Tom Yum soup. Now many places serve Tom Yum soup, but they only have a light lemon type broth. When I ask for the real Tom Yum, which is a creamy reddish soup loaded with flavor, I get the excuse that it takes too long to make. But somehow, Pru Thai serves the authentic Tom Yum, and holy cow, this is a fantastic soup which I could have every day! The texture, the zest, the spice, ahhh, thank you Pru! Next I had the Pad Kra Pao with beef. This dish burst with the right amount of spice and flavor. The beef was high quality as opposed to chewy beef you get in some places. They let me try the spring rolls. Not your typical spring rolls as these had glass noodles inside and terrific taste. I ordered take-out but noticed the beautiful décor and will bring the family to dine in next time. Bam, the hostess greeted me with a smile and great rapport that sets the mood for an awesome dining experience. All in all, an astounding Thai meal you have to visit and enjoy. read more

We arrived on time for a 7:00 dinner reservation for a party of 4 and were told it would be a 10 minute wait. A family of 4 walked in at 7:15 and were seated right away as we sat waiting. We were finally seated at 7:40 with no explanation about our wait, and had our orders taken at 8:00. The food was good (not great) and pricier than most Thai restaurants. The atmosphere was modern and hectic. My main complaint was that they couldn't keep a reservation and did a poor job with communicating expectations, so I'm docking 2 stars. read more

Today is my birthday, and I wanted to take my parents to try some Thai food. After checking out the menu at PRU Tai Kitchen, I was excited to give it a go. Upon arriving, the restaurant had a warm and elegant ambiance. The waitress was very friendly and seated us promptly. We started with three delicious appetizers: Grilled Chicken with Soy, which was tasty with its special sauce; Pineapple Mussels, and the curry-flavored creamy sauce was amazing! Tom Yum soup, a classic Thai starter, had the perfect balance of sour and spicy flavors. For the main courses, we ordered three dishes: Red Curry Duck Leg, which was a bit tough, but still tasty when paired with the red curry sauce; Grilled Pompano, which was tender thanks to being grilled in banana leaves, and had a nice flavor similar to dishes from Xishuangbanna; and a special Crab Meat Rice Wrapped in an Egg, which was sweet and fresh when dipped in the sauce. For dessert, the Toast with Vanilla Ice Cream was surprisingly delicious. Finally, the restaurant kindly gifted us some free Mango Sticky Rice for my birthday which was fragrant and sweet. This is a restaurant that a large group of us attended for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is bright, airy, and attractive. The food was good, but rather high priced for what you get. Everything that I tasted was tasty, but calamari was unspectacular, other than the sauces were good. The lamb and cumin satay was served particularly dry and only slightly warm. The red curry duck was very attractive, but for $38 it was still quite expensive. Short ribs were also tasty, and perhaps the best thing I tasted, but they were a rather small portion for the price. The pineapple fried rice was probably the most special thing I tried, with chunks of sausage in it, in addition to the other expected ingredients. But again, it's $26 for fried rice. The service was very good, prompt, and friendly, and I wouldn't mind eating here again, but for the price point, I'd probably save it for special occasions. The decor suggests a contemporary feel, but not particularly romantic. It would be fine as a business meeting location. read more

Pru Thai Kitchen is amazing and rivals all the other Thai restaurants in Atlanta. The pompano is so full of flavor and perfectly cooked (it has bones, but not too difficult to eat). The calamari appetizer was perfectly fried, light and crisp and the soy chicken was flavored with a slight soy sauce, juicy dark meat, and light, crispy skin. The other entree we got was the baked glass noodles that came in a claypot. The texture of the noodles were bouncy and full of flavor. Finally....guys, the dessert. Honey Toast. Not to be missed. The name doesn't do it justice. Light, golden roasted, drizzled honey and ice cream to compliment. This is a MUST. Everything is was excellent, the staff was friendly and the ambiance is beautiful. Never got the water we ordered. Put in our order and waited. And waited. Left 1 hour later with no food being delivered and no chance to reorder drinks.
