I feel like the price of pad thai varies quite a bit these days. While you don't want to pay the most, you certainly don't want to pay the least and that is where this place fits in. So I haven't left a review for a restaurant in probably over a year. But my lunch was so good at Spice of Thai yesterday afternoon, how could I not?! I had the ginger with mixed vegetables (and steamed tofu). And the flavors just melted in my mouth. So delicious! I typically order brown rice with my veggies, but the rice they serve actually looks purple (in a good way), and it was both unique and flavorful. Hands down the best Thai food we've had so far in metro Atlanta area as transplants from California where there's some true thai gems. Great quite casual ambiance and very prompt sweet service. The Roasted Chili Fried Rice was amazing and so was the pad kee mao. We got level 4 spicy which was just the perfect amount of kick. The Tom kha was fresh and tasty as well. Actually everything was very fresh and freshly made. Lastly the mango sticky rice had us fighting over the last bite even though we were pretty full by the end. It was a very good thai restaurant. The food was delicious and had a lot of flavor and the prices were very fair. I went for lunch and got panang curry and green tea. The tea was a large pot and only $2! That was an incredible value. The panang curry was $11. It came with fresh cut vegetables, not frozen, which was a great first impression. The flavor of the curry was great. It was very creamy and silky smooth but wasn't dominated by too much coconut milk because the panang curry flavor was very prominent. Rice was cooked perfectly as well. It was a little odd they did not ask me for a heat level and it was not spicy even in the least little bit. The overall restaurant is nice on the inside. The server I had was very pleasant and nice. When I arrived at Noon I was the only person in the restaurant. I've got both the Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ew. I think this restaurant has the best Chicken Pad See Ew in the area! There's plenty of veggies and chicken in the entree, not only noodles. During the pandemic, we call to order ahead and pickup our meal. They are very fast and efficient here. The menu is very large with many options to choose from at a reasonable price. One recommendation I have is having an option for a side salad. All the salads seem like entree salads. If there was an option for a small side salad, I'd purchase it every time! I started out with the Tom Kha and added tofu. As a vegetarian, I appreciated that a meat based broth wasn't added to the coconut milk. It knocked my socks off and is hands down, the best Tom Kha I have had so far. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but I already had plans to take most home so I could try new dishes. I ordered the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with tofu (so good and rice not over cooked) and the Massaman Curry with Mixed Vegetables. It wasn't too sweet and the wonderful, savory flavor with the potatoes and cashews to match guaranteed that it wouldn't be my last time ordering the dish. So Spice of Thai is my go to Thai place it's good, affordable, low-key if you're going by yourself, and the waitstaff is always pretty attentive. It's in a shopping plaza surrounded by other restaurants, but there's always parking right up front. This particular day I took myself out and as usual I got the spring rolls. They are a good size and tasty especially with the peanut dipping sauce plus I usually have leftovers to take to work the next day. For my entrée I opted for something different and got the Thai curry noodle. Which was basically just curry with water and clear noodles instead of rice. I can't say it was awful but I can't say I would get it again just because it didn't really retain any flavor so the dish was heavily reliant on the broth which was a little watery. But the vegetables were a good addition so that helped. I love getting wine here because they have a house wine for $5 so why not. Since I was already on the calorie overload express I decided to get a dessert.
