Pryes is always popping! Located right next to the Mississippi, this is a solid Minneapolis brewery. They have tons of beer- ipas, sours, ales, lagers, ect. However there not many seltzer/cider choices. For someone who is not a big beer fan, there are not many options. However they do have good food too! If outside, you order with a QR code. Creativity and quality of beers is great but there's been an unfortunate progression of the way the brewery charges for their beers. I've gone to this brewery atleast 25 times over the years but the last time I went for my birthday, I was shocked to see that an $8 beer became a mandatory $11.07. Tax, 5% credit card fee, then 20% service fee on top of the tax + fee. 39% above sticker price before you've even left a voluntary tip. Again this isn't a slight against any individual at the brewery nor their product quality but its a disappointing trend away from transparency. read more

The beer is great, the service is great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is also great 2. Can you PLEASE keep the Hefeweizen "In the Clouds" on your permanent menu??! Really great beer. I don't drink a lot but I tried a bunch of samples. Fun atmosphere and best for our group they are super bike friendly. We stopped here as part of a charity bike beer bust we put together. Very nice staff and lots of beer options. Restrooms are easy to get to and they will help you load your water bladder with water at the bar if you ask nice. I will be back again! read more

Another great hangout brewery in Minneapolis. The beer is so so. Their flagship is an IPA that is called Mirraculum. I don't find it to stand out in any way but it isn't a bad beer. I just wouldn't buy it if I was anywhere else. What makes this place really stand out is the kitchen. It's one of the few top breweries with a kitchen (no food trucks outside) This one however has a great food concept. The kitchen is replaced every six months or so (though it hasn't been open long enough for many changes yet). The first time I went Red Wagon Pizza was running the kitchen. This time it was Seventh Street Truck Park. They were serving up a few apps and a bunch of grilled cheese sandwiches. The cheese curds were not bad. Not stand out. The pretzel was massive! However the cheese it came with was strangely soup like. The two grilled cheese sandwiches I split with my fiancé was what gave this place their fourth star. Truffle Cheese and Chicago Wet Beef were and great combo and delicious in their own way. The Chicago had some spice to it if you aren't into that kind of thing I would watch out. Ps. I'm surprised I've never reviewed Pryes before, they have been one of our fave breweries practically since they opened. We were recently there twice in one week, Halloween for Vampire Family Reunion, and then with a large crowd for the hubby's birthday, such a great space! The staff bent over backwards for us and a great time was had by all. A lot of people in our party were not wanting to be inside, so we made ourselves at home on the expansive outdoor patio. They have lots of patio heaters too, which are basically mandatory in Minnesota this time of year. I recently found out there is also a large upstairs space that you can rent out for events, so we will keep that in mind as well. They have feather bowling inside for those who are coordinated, I am terrible at that sort of thing so I didn't indulge. My favorite beer this time around was the imperial pumpkin ale, but it packs a punch so I only had two of them! This was the first time we tried the food and I was blown away at how good the food is for such a small kitchen! We got the charcuterie plate and of course french fries, as well as two different styles of barbecue cauliflower "wings". The hubby was in heaven since he recently went vegetarian! The place is just the right size. The sound level, just a little too loud for my liking. The beers, very good flavor. The place? The place? just the right amount of Stainless, right amount of dark colors, and beautiful wood. Wood, inlay wood, walnut wood, even plywood looks great around the feather bowling space. I really like the restroom area, at least 7 individual restrooms, gender neutral with a very clean sink area that is shared, makes perfect sense. A couple of thoughts... 1. How about a couple of big screens so that you can see the bowling action as it takes place? Just two screens on your wall above the bowling lane? 2. How about some board games? I would have thought there would have been some backgammon boards inlaid into some of the tables? Great start Jeremy, this is the best vibe I have found in any of the tap rooms around town. My wife and I took our weekly lunch date to downtown Minneapolis. Pryes is a little out of the zone, but you can take a wonderful 4 mile walk like we did, sown to the Stone Arch Bridge and back to walk off the food. I ordered the IPA and they have Red Wagon pizzas you can buy, I am guessing they are take and bake, because they could not substitute my pepperoni for the sausage. #Edinaproblems. Beer was awesome and the atmosphere was cool too. Pizza was solid, not an A, but probably a B. (I got the Red Wagon style.) I got two beers, I got the Nitro IPA, which was just as good as the regular house IPA. A fun time. read more

Last night here in MN and we chose to go to a trivia night here at Pryes. Turns out that it was the first one in a newly brought back trivia series. Food looked good here as my mom order something to snack on during trivia but I had already ate prior. I was mostly impressed with the beer. I had to try the 12% stout and for as strong as that was...it was a very smooth stout for sure. Coming from San Diego it's hard to match what we have for craft beer but this place is great! It felt like being in San Diego even with the 20-30° temps outside. Just a very chill vibe here and great people. Would definitely come back next time I visit. I love coming here, usually once or twice a week after going to the Bouldering gym. The food is great and the beer is fantastic! The interior is nice and sleek, definitely a great design with plenty of seating. The QR ordering is easy to use. We came here today because this was the only close by that had Kambuchas . But we were pleasantly surprised to find the Water Ski show by Twin Cities River rats happening across the street from this brewery. Good food great ambience and fast service. Patio season during the pandemic means a lot of change In MN this year! Thanks to Pryes for making it safe and fun for us to still enjoy good beer, good food, and the sun during our very short summer! The royal raspberry sour is the perfect drink for summer patio weather! Very refreshing, not overly sweet, and a great sour to pair with your food. This one seems to be available year round, woo!! Caso Italian eatery is behind the food. Their speciality is pizza. We went with the Calabrian and really enjoyed it. We paired it with the meat and cheese board. It was an enjoyable dinner and we were so grateful that we could still practice social distancing. There is a parking lot available but part of it has been converted to make more room for the patio. Otherwise there is street parking available that is free and easy to find! read more

Been here several times and the outdoor scene is always great. The beers are very good and most of the food is great. However, the real standout for me were the pizzas! Only negative I can think of is that sometimes its very busy and the hostess area and ordering line get crazy. But hard to have a good scene without people! read more

This is a fun brewery! We visited for the first time in February, and it was packed and difficult to find seating, so if you are planning an in-person visit, keep that in mind if you are with a big group. In more recent times, we have been trekking over to Pryes to keep our beer supply healthy during the stay-at-home orders. I love their lemon lime blonde, citra pale ale, and italian pilsner. All are super accessible and refreshing, without being too light. We also tried one of their take home pizza kits. I love the concept--you get 2 crowlers, enough dough/sauce/cheese for 2 pizzas, and a salad. The salad was okay--could have been a little heartier for the price, but I get that local businesses are just trying to stay afloat right now so I was happy to support. I was disappointed that the only veg option is cheese/no cheese. The rest of the pizza options come with 4-5 toppings (including meat) and are the same price! For that reason, as vegetarians we felt it wasn't worth it and wished there was a veggie option with toppings. That being said, the ingredients were super high quality, and the pizza making was pretty fool-proof, and we enjoyed the slow process of noshing/drinking while prepping our pizza. The outdoor seating is so great! They disinfect the tables and chairs between customers, the menu is online, and ordering beer at the counter is distanced and clean. I had the Cobbler Blueberry Ale and the West Coast IPA and both were great. The blonde was pretty good too, but I prefer an IPA. I also got the margherita pizza and my friend got the fried ravioli. The pizza was top notch! Not burnt, ingredients tasted fresh, and it wasn't greasy like many pizzas can be. The ravioli was gone in like 5 bites LOL! The food is absolutely scrumptious and the beer is perfect for a late summer evening. Will definitely be back! read more

Nice location, good beer. We got a flight, which had an interesting range of beers. The blonde ale was really good, def my fave. They have botchi ball, which is cool. This sounds weird, but the bathrooms were really nice! I feel like I've lived in smaller apartments... The crowd was pretty young and had a sorority/frat feel. Inside the space is quite large, like they want us to socialize or something? I appreciated all the little seating nooks so we could squirrel our group away from everyone else and lament having to drink beer AND eat food (grilled cheese, really?). My god, they even have purse hooks under the tables - like they are going to win us over with convenience?? Puh-lease! Oh, and the bathrooms! Just another trendy bar with a bunch of gender neutral single bathroom stalls. Where am I supposed to go with my gals? They expect me to pee in PRIVATE? Absolutely terrible. Beers. They have awesome pies, loved my build your own sausage & onion. White Margherita is phenomenal too! My one complaint is the parking. They are located in a business district & parking is all over the place with people just parking in non existent spots. Trying to park on the street isn't always easy either with all the traffic & bikes. They really need to get their lot painted at the minimum...or offer valet. read more

Very good beer, delicious food, nice outdoor atmosphere, cool bathrooms, and clean everywhere. I love that this brewery really pushes flavor in their drinks. It's not a subtle taste, it's pretty strong for most flavors! I loved the smoothie beer but I could only drink one since it's pretty heavy. I wasn't a big fan of the blueberry cobbler, it tasted a bit syrupy to me, but I know it's a favorite as well. The ravioli was SO GOOD. I would go back just for that. Margarita pizza was also tasty, but be warned of the balsamic on it (I loved it, but I like balsamic!) The heaters didn't seem to stay on well outside so I would bring a jacket if you tend to get chilly. read more

And I've been to about 50 breweries in Minnesota alone.. a couple dozen more around the country. I love craft beer and this is delicious! We tried a flight of the Miraculum (soft, citrusy and easy drinking without being boring), the Session IPA (light colored, tropical, fruity), the Imperial Red Ale (dark with a great rich, bold flavor), the Foreign Extra Stout (chocolatey, cream, smooth), and the Blonde (bright, lemony, peppery, great flavor). I would gladly drink a pint of every single beer. That's rare! I'm so impressed. They have a rotating food kitchen. Right now it's red wagon pizza and in a couple months they'll rotate in another local eatery. The environment is great! They have a patio facing the river with great lighting and seating. They have beautiful, open, well lit indoor seating area with a huge open from door so you get a great breeze off the river. They have games and some kind of lawn bowling. Honestly, this place is about to take over! They've been open three weekends, and they're killing it! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went for a casual Valentine's Day date at Pryes - great decision on our part Everything this brewery did - GREAT on their part The beer was heavenly (I will be craving the Blueberry Winning Cobbler for forever now). We ordered a pizza (WOW, so so good) and staff made extra sure our modifications for different cheese and meat were met Staff was really friendly and on it. Even if they were wearing masks you could tell they were happy and pleasant. Especially considering it was a lazy, super freezing cold Minnesota Sunday on Valentine's Day I also very much appreciated how well Pryes kept up with keeping their space feeling normal and safe and comfortable in such unnormal circumstances with COVID. Almost never go wrong ordering the Nitro Miraculum IPA. Between 5-6, the lines can be rather long and patio space is limited. Onsite and on street parking available. I love the location. I would think would pull in a good amount of cyclists being just north of downtown on the River Road. There is a lot to like here. Very clean and modern decor. The big door that can open up to lead to a small, but nice patio. Its just a great atmosphere. Ten beers on tap currently, primarily small batches which are a mix of pale ales, a couple of sour beers, with a stout, a couple of blondes and an IPA for flesh it all out. Their signature beer is the Miraculum and that is what I went with on my visit. Plenty of ABV and not too much of that harsh IPA bite (which is my favorite part of the IPA experience). This was a smooth, mellow draft that encourages me to have more than a couple. They have a kitchen also that puts out cheesesteaks and a couple of salads. Didn't get sample the food (was there after a big brunch) but it smelled really good. With the location, the beer selection, and the food I'd imagine its a great place to stop in after work downtown. The atmosphere is super cool, I love warehouse style breweries. It's especially great in Minneapolis when a place has its own parking lot so that was a big plus! One of the biggest draws for us was the fact that they have food options from the Herbivorous Butcher! So it's a great spot for vegans and vegetarians. I've been waiting impatiently for this taproom to be open for a long time. Finally, it's open and I had the opportunity to stop by. Saturday afternoon. Nice vibe. Beautiful weather (70 & sunny). Not too busy (it is July 4th weekend). Really like the space. Feather Bowling? Never heard of it before. See the photos. This looks like a lot of fun. It's basically Curling on grass/ artificial turf. I see a lot of beer wager in your future if you play. Beer - the Miraculum IPA is, of course, awesome. Nice available parking on the street, not so much in the parking lot. This might be an issue with other adjacent businesses during weekday business hours. Hopefully, there won't be concerns.
