He could and it's on full display in his shop. We have been around for a day or so and we're not sure when it was open. So glad we saw that it was open and visited and learned that he is retiring. Sad to learn this but completely understand at the same time. He has some beautiful art that is affordable for all price ranges. The selection is huge and if you like glass work don't pass this up. He was very helpful, takes credit cards and helped pack our purchase in enough protection for travel. A true artist in Sutter Creek and in my opinion someone worth supporting. Glass artists are not growing in their field they are shrinking. I would rather buy from a living artist than a dead one. Outdoor seating areas in the back and side under the canopy of a huge tree. Views of the vineyards abound from every angle. The barn is open at both ends to allow airflow. Apparently, this is the related winery to Villa Toscano located nearby, which we had previously visited. Once again, I found myself a fan of this place also! It too, is surrounded by eye pleasing countryside views, with lovely ponds, fountains, flowers and comfortable seating areas along the outdoor patios. The entrance opens into a large room where the tasting counter is at the far end. But before getting there, you are tempted on the way over to browse the retail area which features home decor, artwork, designer accessories, and clever wine connoisseur gifts. The walls are decorated with assorted flags and a family style crest over the focal point of the wine tasting bar. The wines offered on the wine tasting list were similar to what we had tried before at Villa Toscano. But we ordered another $5.00 flight that included our favorites along with a few we hadn't tried yet. We enjoyed the flavor variations, but had a hard time deciding on what to purchase, so we went outside for a while to take in the scenery and discuss which ones we liked the best. Bella Piazza also offers a wine club membership that includes discounts on wine, other products and a free lunch buffet every weekend. This is another nice little winery to spend time with family and friends!

My husband didn't mind the tang so we ended up purchasing the 2021 Mali Ruz. I chose the 2021 Late Harvest Zinfindel as it didn't have a tangy taste. It was sweet but not too sweet like their dessert wine. Our server was friendly. The winery's grounds is beautiful with a pond across from the parking lot.

This was one of the places that I decided to bring him. I like that this tasting room is a little "unorthodox" in the world of slick, modern wine tasting chambers. (Heck, it's a ~cave~!) Dobra Zemlja is certainly not afraid of being different. The wines are fermented with the native vineyard yeasts, for one thing. This is a very old technique. For the winemaker to be able to do this and have such delicious wines with flavor and unique quality is pretty cool and interesting. They also don't filter the wines, so you're not going to be getting clarity like people expect in modern wines. What do you get? Incredible-tasting old world Euro wine with great depths of taste. These are big and bold. Definitely not for the faint of heart. The alcohol percentage of the wines are higher than you'd normally expect...but are so well-balanced that you don't immediately notice that aspect. They also take some creative liberty with the label design. So, you won't be able to find these at a local alcohol distributor store. Nope, you'll have to buy them here at the winery.

I can't begin to tell you the number of flavors I tasted. So amazing. My only sadness was when I reached the bottom of my bowl. And it paired nicely with their Merlot. I hope I am lucky enough to catch this specialty again on a future visit. And, for the person that wants to know more about vineyards and how to grow grapes, be sure to ask Alex and Josy for a tour. It was intimate and way different than the tasting room experiences where you never see the owner or the winemaker. I learned a lot!
