She is methodically scientific - bordering forensic -- in her attention to detail. She's passionate and fluent in her life's work in orthopedic medicine. She also has a bubbly bedside manner that helped me feel comfortable and calm immediately. Her thorough approach means she will err on the side of caution when prescribing exercises and routines. This can seem slow at times, but she balances that deep long-term care approach with practices like dry needle therapy and deep tissue massage which will immediately alleviate pain and muscle tightness in a short/medium term capacity. Frankly, I was heartbroken when recently my long-term physical therapist (Dr. Virginia Dula of Move Better LLC), also a military wife and mom, packed up and left for a deployment last month. Those of us on the long-term injury management track know just how difficult it can be to find a physical therapist who's got it all... But after meeting Dr. A I can't help but feel like I've got a guardian angel out there after all. Even with Dr. Dula's incredible help, I had begun to accept that the more stubborn parts of my injury would cause my body to be permanently limited because they never healed or fully functioned again no matter how long we treated them. After all, I've been regularly doing PT for 5 years now. In just 4 sessions, Dr. A was able to get into those muscles in my spine and make them move and feel when I've had no feeling and movement there for years. For this reason I highly respect her methodical and slow approach because it's clear to me that we are going to make even more permanent progress than I have ever had before.

I know the Office Manager and therapist spend time getting this all approved. I'd like to especially thanks my current therapist Brita who has been patiently working on my knee and back issues for several months off and on . She took over my case when my insurance Cigna became difficult on who was allowed to provide therapy. So she is qualified. Regardless of how busy she is, never fails to greet you cheerfully, checks to see how you are feeling and listens to any specific issues and works on them. She provided tips for homework and very easy finish instructions for exercises. Also no matter how busy she watches each of her patients and makes sure exercises are being done properly and heat and ice are provided. And never fails to say goodbye . The manager, Larry Grine, runs an efficient operation and is an excellent therapist himself. I have worked with Larry, as well as with Kevin, Greg, and Stephen, all of whom are also top class. About the location itself, I immediately was aware of how friendly and attentive all the people there seemed to be. The facility itself is attractive, full of light, and has a very positive vibe to it. About the therapy, my therapist knew more about the anatomy and movement of the knee and surrounding areas than I could imagine. He performed a series of massages, movements, exercises, and other treatments explaining at each step what it was meant to accomplish. He was very clear about how to approach the rehab process and answered every question I had. He also laid out a carefully thought out home exercise program that I followed fully. Completely unprofessional.....I now need to schedule PT with another place during the busy holiday season (not an easy feat). Not the best way to run a business. They claim they called me yesterday...but there is no record or voice mail. As if I wouldn't have immediately called back to figure this out? Insist that your insurance company is called and verify coverage before scheduling. I've wasted a ton of my time for no reason.

Apparently there was a patient with dog allergies, and he would not accommodate me and the patient both. I will not be going here, nor will my partner. And to the owner, you are very lucky to not be sued, especially since I have cardiac issues and am 13 weeks pregnant. You caused me a great amount of unnecessary stress and I truly hope you learn better about service animals and the ADA law soon.

This is the best physical therapy practice I have ever been with for my needs, and for recovering from surgery or injuries. My primary physical therapists were Claire and Jessica, and they're both outstanding. Additionally, I saw Mike, Bianca, Garrett, and Macie, and they all assisted me in my recovery. Justin, Rachel, Chartise, and a few others assisted with my exercise treatments after I saw my physical therapist each day. The front desk staff couldn't have been any better, from Madeline leading the way to Melina and Rylie and others following with any of my needs, from scheduling to rescheduling to handling insurance concerns and figuring out whether appealing would allow me to, yeah, more physical therapy while recovering from my dual back surgeries. When I first came here for physical therapy, I told them that they had big shoes to fill because I hadn't had success with any other physical therapy practice in Virginia. They certainly went above and beyond to resolve my pain during surgical recoveries, as well as working to avoid surgery in different areas of my body.
