I have now been discharged from the Jackson clinics after more than a year of physical therapy for my back, my left shoulder, and my rib cage. I have seen almost all of the physical therapists, exercise specialists, and front desk staff members in the one-plus years that I have been in physical therapy here. This is the best physical therapy practice I have ever been with for my needs, and for recovering from surgery or injuries. My primary physical therapists were Claire and Jessica, and they're both outstanding. Additionally, I saw Mike, Bianca, Garrett, and Macie, and they all assisted me in my recovery. Justin, Rachel, Chartise, and a few others assisted with my exercise treatments after I saw my physical therapist each day. The front desk staff couldn't have been any better, from Madeline leading the way to Melina and Rylie and others following with any of my needs, from scheduling to rescheduling to handling insurance concerns and figuring out whether appealing would allow me to, yeah, more physical therapy while recovering from my dual back surgeries. When I first came here for physical therapy, I told them that they had big shoes to fill because I hadn't had success with any other physical therapy practice in Virginia. They certainly went above and beyond to resolve my pain during surgical recoveries, as well as working to avoid surgery in different areas of my body. I am hypermobile so I have seen PTs in this area frequently for over 30 years. Dr. Mike Kecman, PT and his assistants - as well as all the other PTs, assistants and front desk staff I've observed over the last 3-4 months - are professional, friendly, encouraging, and the most knowledgable and reasonable I've ever worked with. It astounds me the differences in care and attention you can get in various PT offices/companies for the same amount of $$ - this PT office tops them all by far, in every category. It has made such a difference in me understanding my injuries and getting better (I had some significant injuries, and I'm obviously not young, so it is taking a while). I had PT before and after a knee replacement. The Jackson Clinic staff was outstanding. They prepped me well and kept me moving afterward. After only a couple months, I have fully recovered my mobility and have returned to all my favorite activities. After being in the hospital for 2 weeks, my surgeon recommend physical therapy. I was incredibly lucky that my path connected with Dr Garrett Murray. He is one of the most amazing therapists I have ever worked with. The program he created for me resulted in significant improvement in my physical movement and my ability to resume my daily activities. Not sure why I haven't reviewed before. I think it's cause I'm so used to yelping where I dine I forget how useful yelp us for other types of business. So let's fix this now as I have been utilizing these folks for years (as has my hubby but he doesn't yelp) I have osteoarthritis so between various joints go out of whack all the time and joint surgeries over the years I have used a variety of therapy locations. So feel I'm a expert at saying these folks are beyond 5 stars but yelp limits me from awarding more stars.... I'm amazed at the breadth of knowledge the therapists have here. From my back to my hip these folks have been amazing. Currently I'm seeing Phil as my primary therapist. What I like is that I can talk to him about what's bothering me and he is able to take that vague it hurts here as I point... into which parts need to be worked on. Surprisingly even when I'm not sure the issue he has been able to target the spot to concentrate on. One of the things I like is that during my sessions these folks are easy to chat with. I need to talk about stuff (not relating to medical) to help distract me as we work on things. I also have used Mike as my therapists when Phil has been on vacation and he is also top notch. And yep I have observed the others and I believe all at this location would work. So don't worry about who you schedule with. I have in the past also utilized water therapy here. They use the pool at Sport and Health and it was a great option to use at times. But therapy isn't just your initial therapist but the exercise specialists and athletic trainers you utilize after your therapy session are essential to your recovery. Currently Christine, Jamil, and Melissa are all amazing. They keep me on track with what I should do next plus are continually correcting my form to ensure I do things to get optimal benefits. The key to any therapy in end is communication between you and who you work with. Knowing they will listen to your concerns, understand your medical issues, help you through the rough spots, and see you through and beyond. This location does that and more. read more

I had been a regular client/patient here for my back issues and I can't be more pleased with their treatment. Dr. Claire Dulin is a kind and patient woman. She will throughly discuss your issues, what you would like to fix, and how to stay repaired. I have a herniated disc in my lower back and sometimes, the flare ups are substantial. I had gone to a different provider to fix my back and nothing was getting better. I get referred to Jackson and after a few months rehab, I was back to the relative normal. I'm not sure why the care and the results were so different, but I wholeheartedly recommend Jackson, especially Dr. Dulin. The clinic is a little small, and it can get cramped sometimes, but don't discount their level care. read more

I've been going for about 4 weeks and am very happy I made the decision to start physical therapy here. You get 30 min with the physical therapist and 30 minutes with the exercise people. Front office ladies are great. Mike and Jared have been awesome treating my elbow. I appreciate how they teach you about what's going on while they treat you. Exercise specialists have showed me some new thing to treat my elbow. Downfalls(very minor): -You have to schedule way in advance. They may benefit from having a few other PTs on deck. -Staring at those awful bright lights when doing exercises on your back. read more

Please do not take a chance with them. I got sick last night. probably with a bad cold, highly congested, sore throat, earache.etc. I am definitely in a contagious stage. I called two hours ahead of time to reschedule my appointment and they said they were changing me a $50.00 cancellation, because they had waived it once before when I had a verified Covid infection. I was upset- and told them Ok, I would come in sick and expose everyone else to my illness. That response;"OK, we'll keep you on the schedule " I was angry and actually planned on going in just to make a point. but talked to my husband who reminded me that I'm better than that. Two wrongs don't make a right and knew how guilty I would feel at knowingly exposing innocent people to a crummy illness. What is chilling is that they knew I was sick and didn't care about getting their other clients sick. Company policy they said. I canceled future appointments and will take my business elsewhere. read more

I requested a therapist based on a recommendation. The therapist had to cancel because of an emergency the first session. I didn't find out until I called Jackson to confirm my appt time. The next session the therapist just randomly switched me with another patient. I found this out after arriving and PAYING for my session. I did not want to see another therapist so I was forced to cancel that appointment. I requested a refund of my copay the next day and 1.5 months later I haven't heard anything from Jackson or seen a refund, despite following up twice. Poor service and disorganized is all I can say. read more

The physical therapists are outstanding, however, the experience is overshadowed by the exercise specialist who spends her time chatting with people of her choice. In the meantime, she leaves you to figure out the exercises on your own which results in a complete waste of time and expense if you are doing them wrong. Advice: get rid of the lazy exercise specialist and find someone who does the job that they are paid to do for all patients - not just some. Also, don't appreciate the eye rolling, sarcastic comments from this exercise specialist. She is your only option and has been for years. Find another location. read more

I've only been to about 4 different physical therapy places for various injuries in the past, but the PTs here are the best I've experienced. Went here for two and a half months for lower back pain. They're professional, friendly, and know their stuff. They really listened and answered all my questions, and I have a lot of questions! The assistant PTs were cool too. I had one primary PT (this is a good thing, so they can remember your progress), but when my schedule conflicted with my primary PT, I had two other PTs who read my history and they were good as well. Other miscellaneous notes: Near the end, I also mentioned that I wanted to get back into lifting (hey, you can't skip leg day) and they gave me tips on form and things to do to prevent reinjury. They definitely know about sports physical therapy since I went on some lifting forums and verified the stuff they said (yes, I like to research everything like a nerd). Also through chatting, several of them play or have played various sports as well. The office may look small, but there is a gym connected directly to it, so if you need more room or want to use any gym equipment, you can. I had no problems with billing either. I wasn't sure about my insurance deductible, so I paid an estimate in advance. At the end, my balance was positive and they wrote me a check for the rest. read more

The Jackson clinics on worldgate drive is the best physical therapy place I have ever been to. Admittedly, it is the only PT place I have ever been to...however, based on stories from friends/family as well as hardened PT veterans at the Jackson clinics, I quickly realized I had stumbled across an amazing place. Organized in a common room fashion, Jackson clinics provides a warm, friendly atmosphere in which patients can receive the personal, expert attention they require while also gaining motivation and strength both through joking around with staff and witnessing other patients' successes. You can't go wrong with any of the PT doctors, including Amanda, Grace, and Mike, or the assistants, Kellie and Cristina. Graduating was truly bittersweet; for while I was 'fixed', I no longer had the visits to look forward to. And, while I would hardly say I would retear my meniscus to come back (a hard thing to do at this point), an excuse to go back would certainly not be the worst thing in the world. I've had lower back problems for years. About a year and a half ago was unable to sleep because of a pain in my piriformis area. After multiple visits with an orthopedist and several epidural injections I came to Worldgate's Jackson Clinic for physical therapy last fall. I had been there before for other types of PT and had been very satisfied. My therapist, Ian, was amazing. I was really depressed about my situation and felt very hopeless. Ian was very encouraging, supportive, positive and professional. He approached my condition from several fronts working to improve my overall flexibility and strength. Not only did he help me improve my mobility and relieve pain but he also changed my attitude. I've been seeing Clair for more than six weeks due to issues in my knee . Clair is so detailed and she pays attention to every thing I say . What I like about the therapy at the Jackson Clinics is the personalized treatment plan and the re-evaluation every few weeks for the treatment goals . Even though my main pain was in my knee , Clair took the time to evaluate my ankle , hip , back , flexibility and walk . The clinic is very organized and the employees are down to earth . Dr. Ian Slattery is an awesome physical therapist, and I can't recommend him enough. He is not only knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, but also relates to his patients personally and gives a good deal of thought to game-planning their rehab. He is very thorough, attentive, methodical and responsive to your care needs. I have had to see a PT for (unfortunately) several issues in the past 8 yrs due to various basketball and accident injuries in my neck/lower back/mid-back/ankle/shoulder, but Ian has been there to help me through all of them and he has more than earned my trust. It can be tough to find a healthcare professional you can rely on, but I am thankful for the ones like him. From short conversations with him, I've also found that he is continuously going to different information sessions and conferences in his off-hours to become even more of an expert in his field. Bottom line: He is thorough, knowledgeable, attentive, personable, humble, and constantly looking to become even better at what he does because he has a passion for it. The Jackson clinic at Worldgate helped me recover from a severe flare up of IT Band syndrome and spinal stenosis. The clinic is small but well organized and attached to a gym. The staff do a great job. Most important to me, they did not do any harm, which can be a real risk in some clinics. I've recently started PT for a problem with my ankle. I was nervous because I had never been! Here's what I found out....the entire staff are wonderful. The people at the Jackson clinic in Herndon/Worldgate did a great job. I went there with a pretty serious amount of pain in my right shoulder, hoping I could improve it enough with PT to avoid needing surgery. Scheduling was flexible and they accommodated changes necessitated by my work schedule cheerfully. There is plenty of parking and access is very easy from the Dulles Toll road. The staff there were very helpful and knowledgeable. I worked with Jared and Jakayla and felt like I got as much attention as I needed. They both answered my questions clearly and made sure I was doing the exercises correctly. Their friendly demeanor helped to put me at ease. As I followed their recommended routines I noticed a steady improvement and after a few weeks my shoulder pain was 90% gone, and functioning at 100%. Over the last seven years I have been to see therapists at Jackson Clinics in Worldgate, each time for a different issue. Not only are the doctors knowledgeable, they are friendly, which is important when you make a time commitment like physical therapy requires. The exercise specialists have been helpful (and provide great resources for at-home care) to make sure that I use proper form and am strengthening the necessary areas. I still have notes and pictures of exercises to do from each of the four injuries (hip, knee, back and rotator cuff/elbow). I appreciate, too, that they are willing to answer any question I may have that may come up once I've "graduated" from a session. read more

The Jackson Clinic at Worldgate is outstanding. I'm a marathon runner / triathlete who had to stop running due to a posterior tibial tendon injury. MRI showed nothing surgery could fix. Chiropractor and dry needling didn't help at all, and months of rest was having no effect. So I went to Physical Therapy at the Jackson Clinic at Worldgate. Just a few months later, and Claire and Ally have me running again. It's a solid process: diagnose the problem, hands on treatment, then a closely supervised exercise program. Claire also helped with some outstanding custom fit orthotics that are the long term solution for me. The entire staff is made up of total professionals: clean facility, easy parking, helpful and optimistic guidance, respectful of my time, and they even worked with my insurance company to make the payment process easy. This clinic has given me so much hope for my chronic back pain. I have been to doctors & chiropractors for over 2 years, and this clinic has the only professionals that were able to truly help me find some relief. They are also the only ones to fully explain what was going on and how my muscles were functioning. With their help and shared knowledge, I have been able to better understand my body and control which habits make my symptoms worse. I have been to this clinic for over 4 months and truly believe they are the best physical therapists in Northern Virginia. They are all professional, very knowledgeable, caring, and fun staff. I have been going to Mike for the past few months, and he has been so thorough at explaining everything about dry needling. He listens to every symptom and gives constructive advice (you can even complain about how crummy your day is and he makes you feel better and have hope). He is easy to talk to and I cannot thank him enough for the progress I have seen over the last few sessions. Ryan and Ally are excellent exercise specialists/pt assistants. They share the 2-4 PT's patients so it does get busy for the second half of the session depending on the time of day (lunch time and before work hours usually). They are both helpful in explaining exactly what each exercise is doing and which muscles should be working. It's very easy to ask if it's proper form just to make sure you are completing the exercise correctly. They are so willing to spend the time to help. Once you go after a few sessions, you begin to understand exactly what is needed to complete the exercise properly for home use. Not everyone's body works the same way and it's hard to find out which exercises work for you and which do not. Just let them know and a modification can be made. (And don't forget that doing these exercises at home are the key to success!) Last but not least, Mark and Ruby are the best front desk managers ever. They are super sweet and easy to talk to for scheduling and conflicts. They make the frustration of scheduling appts for your pain easy! Simply the best! I cannot express enough that this is the place you want to go to. Claire runs an amazing clinic at The Jackson's Clinic at Worldgate and each and every employee deserves a round of applause!! A few years ago I had the "pleasure" of being sent to the Jackson Clinics by my health plan. Now that I have a new doctor and a new health plan, an accurate diagnosis of my problem has been made, physical therapy works and I am not putting up with, as far as I am concerned, incompetence. My "therapists" at the clinic were 100% wrong in their diagnosis On top of that, often one "therapist" would do stretching exercises with me totally differently from that done by a previous therapist. In addition, the exercises they gave me could only be done by a contusionist. When I complained and threatened not to pay the full bill, the clinic immediately sicked an attorney on me, so fast that I assume they have one waiting in the wings to handle all their complaints. Fortunately I am now of a peaceful mind. In my humble opinion, stay away from Jackson Clinics, regardless of how large and "respected" they are. Some, like me, have had very negative experiences with them. If you do not, good for you. read more

After 2 rounds of therapy at another physical therapy practice did not solve my knee issue, my Dr. suggested that I try Jackson. At the end of one round of therapy, I was able to squat again. I really like how there is a full half hour with the (same) physical therapist before doing any exercises with the trainer. This ensured that any concerns I had would be addressed. In addition, they are very willing to look at related issues; for instance, and don't focus blindly on the single body part being treated. My physical therapist also suggested that my problem might be a Baker's cyst, and suggested I go to an orthopedist. I did, and got a definitive diagnosis (the therapist was right). I won't hesitate to go to Jackson if I'm in need of PT in the future. read more
