What a neat little bar in Port Townsend! We were just exploring the town from Whidbey and decided to stop by Anchor. We were immediately greeted and the guy explained the menu - anything with an anchor you can add your own stuff and pretty much make your own burger etc. I decided to keep it simple with my burger. It was friggin delicious! You can taste the smokiness. It hit the spot. I also got a cocktail, the "fruffy bullshit" - also delicious!! They had an upstairs where you can sit, had a list of days where they have events. I'll definitely come back!

Loved this spot. Probably our favorite bar in Washington so far. The dark and stormies and lemon drops were made perfectly. The cheesesteak and smashburger were fantastic. The Jell-O shots were delicious and potent. The bartenders have actual good conversation and were the chillest people. I wish small town PNW had more bars with immaculate vibes like this one does. We can't wait to come back.

The staff was super friendly, food was really good for bar food, the fries were delicious and they have house made sauces. The anchor sauce and BBQ definitely stood out

Food was EXCELLENT! We were recommended here by a friend and the Smash burgers MELT in your mouth. Buns have a nice toast to them so every bite has a nice texture with juicy patty and delicious bun combined. Yum! Definitely get the garlic Truffle Fries- we needed more garlic but found some at the bottom of basket. Wide selection of beers and cocktails if you are looking for a great date night experience. Ambiance is awesome. We went on the 4th - they had Independence Day playing on the projector which was a nice touch. Bookmarking to try and make it to open mic and Karaoke Night. ThankS PT ANCHOR!

Smash burger was better than I expected, came out fast and hot The bartender Davey is a perfectionist at cocktails and convos. missed out on the live music but from what I've heard from locals, it's a hot spot.

First time at Anchor and loved it! Food, drinks, service, atmosphere - all great. The smash burger in particular was really good and would highly recommend. Classic historic Water Street setting with exposed brick, original wood floors, and high ceilings with loft seating. Combined with the music, artwork, good food/drinks and friendly service it made for a great experience. Looking forward to heading back next time we're in PT.

    Really upbeat and inviting place.

My wife ordered 2 anchor burgers with fries to go, and we ate down the street at the Maritime center.

When you go in, you go and order and pay at the counter first, then sit down with a number and wait for your food to be brought out to you. Service at the counter is friendly and food comes out fast -- water and utensils are self serve, but you do not need to bus your own table. The vibe of the place is casual, with a couple of TV screens set to various sports channels and old music on the playlist. The two of us shared a full portion of the Washington apple salad, I had the meatloaf burger, and my dinner buddy had the mushroom stroganoff, which he enjoyed. Portions are generous here, I am happy to say, and we were absolutely stuffed afterward. We honestly probably didn't *need* to order the salad, but we were both wanting the vegetables to balance out the meal. The salad was huge and full of beautiful fresh leaves, dressed lightly but evenly with a great vinaigrette, topped with crunchy apple chunks and slices, walnuts, and blue cheese. It's delicious but actually feels healthy. The meatloaf burger is awesome. The meatloaf itself is moist, not overly bread crumby, well seasoned, and there's a right thick slab of it in the sandwich. This is honestly a perfect burger, despite not being a typical burger. Eating this is not a graceful endeavor, stuff falls out left and right, but who cares. The small cup of slaw on the side is solid and adds some textural variety. Definitely a great place for a tasty, filling, casual meal. Next time I hope I can actually try some Cornish pasty.

My husband and I really enjoyed our Saturday night visit to The In Between in Port Townsend. While…read moreit's billed as a speakeasy, there is no gimmicky password or secret door, which is honestly a relief. To get to The In Between, you simply go through the main entrance to the Sirens Pub building, but instead of heading into the pub go up one flight of stairs. We checked in at the bar and seated ourselves, and then were quickly greeted with menus and water. We very much got the sense that while the folks here take cocktails very seriously, they don't take themselves overly seriously. There's no unnecessary pretense, and no need to be an expert to enjoy your time here. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made us feel so at ease. That plus the comfortable space, dim lighting, and perfect noise level (not eerily quiet, but no so loud that you couldn't have a conversation with the person in front of you) made for a lovely experience. We each nursed a delicious drink -- a mezcal cocktail for me and a straight up spirit for him (we enjoyed that they feature local producers!) -- while enjoying each other's company and the excellent atmosphere here. What more could you ask for?

And the copper straw for that drink suited it perfectly, really brought out the ice cream coldness in each sip. Alas this wasn't my drink, but my wife's. I had the sotol cocktail and that was smoky and interesting too. Vibes were immaculate here for the weekend night I went. The gold and art deco furnishing with the varied lighting and green-gold wallpaper, along with the unexpectedly detailed wood carvings under the bar were great. Plus the relaxed but bassy music selection added to the lounge experience. Very happy, hope I can return and order the pistachio drink for myself. Fast service, no complaints.
