We had a great dinner at Fountain Cafe. We called a week in advance and got a 6p reservation for a Saturday night. I watched at least four groups try to walk in and get turned away, and for good reason. The restaurant only seats 28, including the three barstools. I will definitely return to Fountain Cafe if I get to come back to Port Townsend. We ordered the Grilled Halloumi as an appetizer and loved it. I ordered a special, Ahi Tuna Salad, and it was great. And we also had the Moroccan Seafood Stew which was excellent - so flavorful. Cameron was our waiter and did an excellent job. The vibe inside was great. There are cool paintings on the wall and good music playing. Hope to come back.

One of our favorite spots when we're in town and if we can get a reservation. Reservations is the operative term for this tiny cafe. It may seat 20? Including three bar seats. But, it is worth the effort. Food and service is top of the list for PT! And, locals know it, I have never seen it less than full of patrons. It's not a quiet spot as 20 guests enjoying good wine and better food in a small spot can be noisy. The lively conversations are part of the experience, ambiance and the fun!

Amazing food! The flavor blends are fantastic. Service is exceptional and could not ask for a better experience in this quaint little town.

Tiny place with mega tastes! If you're a food lover you absolutely must try this place. My husband and I plan weekend getaways around dinner here. We live almost two hours away, but when we visit, we always go here for dinner. You must have reservations! This place is tiny but the food...OMG! Despite being a "cafe" the ambiance is very nice. Don't miss this hidden gem that even the locals love!

I had high expectations for this restaurant given the reviews and they were mostly met. What they did well: entrees. Our entrees were both excellent, and mine (a halibut over lemon chèvre risotto and arugula, with a strawberry lime salsa) was one of the top entrees I've ever had. The risotto was rich and creamy, but brightened by the lemon and the salsa on the fish--perfection. My husband had the chicken amoré, which he said was also very good. Also excellent--the tiramisu. It was boozy and rich and just a great end to the meal. What they could do better: we ordered a small insalate mista and some olives and bread, both to share. The salad was entirely forgettable, and while the presentation was nice (carrots and beets on top), the beets were very long spiral ribbons that made eating the salad very challenging. I was honestly so annoyed at the idea of giving customers something that is stains as badly as beets in a form that means it extremely hard to eat. The olives and bread were okay. The olives were warmed, which was great, but were just pitted olives (non-pitted olives have so much more flavor and depth). Service was just fine--good suggestions, quick and efficient. They were quite busy and I knew they had a lot to do--I appreciated how well our server was doing with the tables. A small thing that shouldn't matter but does--a loose nail on the edge of the table snagged my outfit and put a hole in it. It's a beloved piece and I was saddened by this, and annoyed that the general upkeep in a place where we spent as much as we did has loose nails sticking out such that they can cause this kind of problem.

Cameron was our server and did not steer us astray with his recommendation of the classic warm salad-it was the best salad that we had ever eaten...I certainly could have had that as an entree, but I do not know any restaurant that has a mushroom risotto better than this. Every bite is layered with complex flavors, and it has never varied in its consistency. This is one of our favorite restaurants. Plan accordingly and make your reservations, you will not be disappointed!

Went here last night on a whim because there weren't many places open after 9. Very small but feels comforting with the ambiance and great service. I was caught off guard by how good the food was as well. You could see this restaurant thriving in bigger cities like Tacoma and Seattle with how good the quality is. I am definitely making it a goal to go back here at least once a year. If you haven't tried it yet you definitely should.

My wife and I were touring some wineries in Port Townsend. We asked the owner of Sailor Vineyards, where the best restaurant in town was. He suggested the café. It did not disappoint. This reminded us of a wonderful restaurant in Seattle called Café Sabika decades ago. It was intimate the food was outstanding and the service charming. We will come here every time we visit the town. my wife had the salmon grilled with a mango salsa, and I had the Moroccan chicken along with some appetizers. The portions were generous. I even took some leftovers for lunch the next day, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

    Key Lime Cream Pie

Key lime pie was delicious! Came in for a to go dessert and went with the key lime pie. Unlike most restaurants that serve you a slice, the pie was a whole mini pie. Very thick and rich and creamy.

This place is incredible and the service was excellent. We showed up as a party of three on a busy night, but they were nice enough to make room. I'm so glad they did because it was my favorite place in Port Townsend.

    Bouillabaisse- just yum!!!!!

Nice to return after 8 years. Fountain Cafe still impresses, but Port Townsend has a bunch of new restaurants, so how is the Fountain faring? The vibe of the place is still there - cool, cozy, and busy. The warm salad was fantastic- hearty and almost an entree in itself and large enough to share with the table. Missus had the Bouillabaisse- it was sumptuous. Not a creamy stock, but definitely a hearty buttery and savory stock, it worked brilliantly paired with dry whites and Pinot Gris. I revisited the Moroccan chicken - nostalgia wasn't quite the same. The chicken side was as remembered, both sweet and briny, but it was paired with a too-creamy risotto that frankly wasn't the best pairing. This dish deserves a savory drier rice, much like that which comes in the Paella, and not the creamy Parmesan topped portion I had. Better to go with the Orleans "shrimp grits" next time, or the old standby of Lamb shanks. Service was quite terrific and we left happy the Fountain continues to serve up fun.

    Amazing duck dinner!

Had a really nice meal at the Fountain Cafe. We recommend reservations since this is a very small and intimate restaurant. The pork chops were very good and the duck was terrific. The service is friendly and on point. We'll be back.

Dillon found Granny's cafe nearby and that it was opening in about 15 minutes. We headed there and thankfully we got there right as they opened. Several parties entered shortly after us so luckily we grabbed a 3 top and checked out the menu. We each ordered a chocolate malt and a basket. My boyfriend and I chose the burrito basket and Aunt C. got the breakfast sandwich basket. When you walk into Granny's cafe you are immediately greeted by the vintage decor and the friendly employee at the counter. Once we sat down I had time to take it all in. Just above us was a ceiling shelf displaying a bunch of different salt and pepper shakers. A piano sat behind us with an old meat grinder nearby. They had some shirts for sale and a restroom just outside. An eclectic mix of vintage decor and several tables to serve guests inside and outside. Once the food came the three of us were famished. The chocolate malts were thick and delicious with a hefty dollop of whipped cream on top. Portion sizes were on point for our hunger needs, we were unable to finish everything. The burrito was stuffed with fresh spinach, tomatoes, cheese, and choice of meat. I got the sausage and all of it together was flavorful and hearty. This little cafe is certainly worth stopping at, be sure to check their hours before getting excited. It worked out that they opened at 11 on this day after we had filled our morning with an adventurous hike. We drove by a few hours later and noticed they got a lot busier after they opened, we were thankful we got there early and filled our tummies to get us through the rest our day. I highly recommend this little cafe if you happen to be heading in or around Olympic national park, in this area. I know we'd definitely go back when we visit again!

Lots of seating available indoors and outside. You can enjoy having your lunch while watching free roaming chickens. There are Emus, donkey and a cat who we didn't get to meet. What a vibe! The burger was tasty, although meat patty was a bit bland, underseasoned but overall great burger. The garlic parm fries were GARLICKY! A bit too oily for me but perfect for garlic lovers. For dessert we shared their warm 6 inch blackberry pie with soft serve on top. I've read amazing reviews about this pie but Too many seeds for me. The crust was delicious and thin how I like it. And overall not too sweet so the ice cream was definitely needed for that balance ;) 100% coming back next time I visit Prt Angeles!
