    Spicy burger with fries

Stopped in after a hike. The bartender was really friendly! The spicy Burger was good and had lots of toppings. The sauces were house made and really good! (Ranch, aioli, bbq). Also for a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato soup and that was really tasty as well. Really enjoyed the meal, especially after a hard hike!

I'm a fan. Good food, family friendly, love seeing my neighbors each day. Pool tables, pinball, plus a few other video games. Stage that hosts local events sometimes.

Elk Burger had a great taste, this is only half portion. Menu limited. has I don't recommend for dinner This is a bar setting restaurant.

The Elk burger was great!! Just a few options of food on menu. Bar style, not dinner.

Went here to play some pool and grab a beer and wings. Only one billiard table available as the other is converted into a ping pong table, but it wasn't super busy and we got to play some foosball and ping pong while waiting. There's a good selection of beer and it's not all IPAs thankfully. Ordered some buffalo wings and enjoyed them, good sauce with some black pepper cooked in with it. Very tasty. Also ordered a "Smash Burger " which was your basic cheeseburger with 1000 island dressing, pickles and onions. Hot and juicy, pretty good, but nothing special. Plenty of space although kinda dark, makes it hard to read the beer list buried behind the bar and the menu on the wall ( the picture makes it look brighter than it is) There are some pinball games and darts are available too. All in all it is a good place to chill after playing outdoors and the pricing is reasonable considering you're just outside of some big ski areas. P. S. No minors after 8pm

Great spot to watch a game, have a smash burger, and a drink. Our family lands here quite often.

    Are kids allowed?

Yes, it is kid friendly but maybe check if kids are allowed in the later evening hours. Otherwise it's great for kids all day and into dinner.

Ordered 2 beers and a pizza, and took a growler home filled with the 10.3% ABV Stout I was served. Our ticket wasn't too bad and the pizza was good. They have a captive audience on the mountain there- as we were seated there must have been 35 or so people plowing in after us. I enjoyed the respite from drive and would return.

Hood…read more As we had already had brunch a few hours earlier, we weren't exactly hungry, but wanted some beers. Mt. Hood Brewing looked promising, so we decided to stop by. It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

I drove past this place the first time because the numbers were hard to read, so I posted a photo…read moreto make it easier to find. It's about 10 minutes or so from downtown Hood River, an easy drive on 35 and then onto 282 W, into a little main drag with a gas station and a few shops and hole-in-the-wall eateries. Michoacan is only open til 8, so get here in time. A single TV showed Mexican soccer, and the tables are basic. AC worked just fine, and the "sports bar" theme is mainly in some wall posters along with a hanging set of boxing gloves and some soccer and basketballs. The food is why you come though. For $2.50, you'll get a brightly flavored perfect guacamole, but a few bright red tomato bits and the herby bite of cilantro. The waitress told me that my entree came with guacamole, but I wanted more. I'd expected the carnitas entree to just have a spoonful, but it was a generous portion too. The chips were thick, not too salty, with enough heft to hold the thick warm bean dip that is complimentary. Inside the kitchen, visible from the dining room, you can see the women cooking. There's no celebrity chef here, no big presence in the kitchen. Just dark haired women chopping and stirring and making authentic food, and perhaps going home later to do laundry and care for family, all in the shadow of Mt Hood. Carnitas platter was visually satisfying - dark meat with a hint of charred crust, bright green guacamole and limes, a few orange pickled carrots, finely diced cilantro and onion. I often bypass the sticky rice at Tex-Mex joints, but here the grains were flaky and you could get the sweetness of tomato. As a solo diner I didn't have a chance to try the array of $2 tacos this time, but the tortillas that came with the carnitas were fresh and tasty, so that's my next visit! No mixed drinks - a selection of bottled beers (Negra Modelo, Corona, Victoria, Pacifico) which will come with no glass. The "glassware" is plastic, so you might prefer drinking out of the bottle anyway! Glad I came here - friendly staff too. Service was a bit slow - I had to ask for the bill - but fine.

Not a sports bar. Lovely drive though. Name should be…read morechanged to reflect the actual business that it is.
