Stopped in here for a cider and to play some video games. All the video games are upstairs. The selection of videos games were decent for a bar. You may need to fight off a kid or two to play them if you are an adult. It would be cool if there was a bar up there and or restroom. It could be a cool birthday party space as well read more

We had a big day on Mount Adams and had been to Ratskeller quite a few times in the past so decided to go there again. We ordered a pizza with jalapeños and sausage. It took one hour for it to arrive, and that was only after we asked where it was given the fact, the place was nearly empty. It came out and had no sausage on it save maybe one or two small shavings on a 20 inch pizza. We asked the bartender about it and he was super gracious. He tried to make it right, and was super cool. The only thing better than the food here is really the vibe. Vibe is cute and cozy inside. Rude manager!!! I ordered sliders and they were bad. They meat was hard and dry and the buns weren't even warm. (I was so frazzled and didn't get the picture but it looked terrible too like middle school lunch menu). So I went up to the manager, returned the food, and asked if I can order something else and she was very defensive. She took a bite and was telling me it tastes totally fine to her and had very rude demeanor. I ordered a small Hawaiian pizza. I went outside to take a call when the food came out so my friend asked for a box to go and she was very rude to my friend as well and tossed tin foil to her. My friend grabbed a paper plate to put the pizza on top of it before she wrapped it in tin foils she tossed her and she came to my friend and told her that she couldn't use the paper plate. She was so mean to everyone that some other guys working at the bar had to hand us the take out box. They had the take out box the entire time but she was being mean to our table. Im sure she was going through a rough time and was taking out on us but as a restaurant manager this behavior is unacceptable. Solid spot to get food and drinks, the dudes who work here are very chill even when it's busy as hell like always, lots of people either eating before going up to the mountain or after they're done on the mountain so you get a big mix of people. Nothing fancy but gets the damn job done. Food is excellent and if they like your attitude they pour a little heavy. All hail the rat! read more

I will say this place has an ok bar vibe. Staff is friendly and on top of service. The interior was a little tired. I ordered a Cesar salad and it was ok. Don't know if this was a speed bump from excellent pizza with good sauce, lots of toppings, and lots of cheese.....but the last two pizzas I have experienced there had no sauce, very few toppings, and not alot of cheese....pretty much flavored cardboard.....come on Raskeller you have an exellent reputation with our social ski crowd.....We no you can do it now just clean it up a little and make the pizzas of yesteryear....Ambiance awesome....service was marginal as I got a to go pizza and even though I notified them of where I was sitting..they forgot about me, put the pizza in a box and it was a long wait until I waived someone down and finally got my pizza....like I said, only to be disappointed by what I got....Come on Ratskeller, I love you guys....do not continue to disappoint....I'm still a customer for now...... read more

All food is ordered at the bar and the bartender working was very helpful and polite. We got our food and ate in the outdoor area. Some of the tables are shaded but it felt great in the sun! The pizza here is top! Outside seating is dog friendly, family friendly, group friendly and super enjoyable during the Spring and Summer. Indoor seating is great! They have an arcade, they have pinball and tvs for sports! This is a great year round oasis of food and beverages. Winter time is amazing here and warm! Post 50k trail race one that we all finish. We ended up at The Ratskeller to celebrate. We drove by couple times checking out the start/finish line. We wanted mix it up instead of going back to Mt Hood Brewery again. Just up the road with bunch of other restaurants and seems main part of town or downtown area. Some reason we all ended up going with "The Rat". It basically meat lovers pizza loaded with meat, black olives, and sure couple more items. Warning if get large think more serves 3 or 4. The pizza came out god dam that large because it massive. One slice alone is two normal size pieces. It was pretty good. Service little different u order at the bar then bring out the food. It might be different inside. It was perfect weather all weekend. Patio the only way to go. I enjoy about there outdoor patio is artificial grass covers the whole area, bunch of picnic wooden benches, canopy for cover, and even corn hole game entertainment. One family their kids were playing it. The service five stars bartender friendly explained the whole deal when walked in. Great experience! Good pizza!! read more

Great place to stop if you have a pizza craving while on the mountain. We ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese (+$3) and a Alfredo carbonara pizza. The pepperoni pizza was great and the carbonara pizza was okay but over cooked/burnt and needed more cheese and sauce. The staff was friendly and it is a cozy space for family friendly food. Here's the thing. If you are knowing what to expect in advance, I think this place is awesome. If you are from the city and expecting just luxury top-notch mountain resort vibes, this place ain't for you. And you know what? They don't need to be. The food seems okay, the place is filled with friendly locals full of cheer and libations, and they know what they are. I appreciate that. You may have to wipe a table down yourself because there are two servers trying to cover the entire place on a weekend, but calm down and be part of the solution instead of the problem, eh? My best friend and I visited on a Saturday night in early December for my birthday. There were a few options to sit at, including a mini table close to the bar. We ordered our seasonal cocktails from the bar, and they were quickly brought over. I got some type of blackberry ginger mule and my best friend got something similar but with blueberry. Hers had a fresher taste to it so I liked it a bit more. Either way, the drinks were reasonable in price, tasted good, and came to us quickly. There were a few potions behind the bar that appeared to be of their own brewing, if you see them I'd inquire about what they are. We didn't eat here. We did go upstairs and play in the arcade area, which does seem to be in overdue need of several repairs. Out of all the games to play, I'd guess roughly half of them were out of order, leaving us to play some snowboarding game, and a snowmobiling game and call it good. For exploring Government Pass downtown area, this is worth a stop for sure, but it's more of the beer-and-slice-of-pizza after locals get off work kinda place than it is the place to go for the Instagram-aspen-worthy vibes some may think of or be after when visiting a mountain lodge restaurant. There are other places nearby worth skipping over to after stopping in here too! read more

We ordered a take-out dinner last weekend while staying nearby. This was our first time trying The Ratskeller, or any restaurant in Govt Camp for that matter. Very pleasant customer service while ordering, and at pick up. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and large Caesar salad. Not much to point out specifically. Both items were good, nothing bad at all...nothing too spectacular either. The pizza was cooked well, the crust was tasty, however the sauce could've used a bit more spice. The salad was good too, nice dressing. Overall we were satisfied with our meal. We will happily try another pizza or menu item next time we stay on the mountain. read more

Ate here two nights in a row and it's been consistently delicious. We didn't love the pretzel appetizer maybe - they were a bit too dry and the cheese sauce could have used a little more flavor. But everything else was fantastic. Really good mozzarella sticks perfectly crunchy. The kids loved the chicken strips. They raved about them so much that I had to try them, and they are good. The burgers are good; my fav was the Western BBQ. The BLT also was surprisingly good thanks to the grilled sourdough it comes on with a fantastic blend of spices. I would have been happy with just that bread. The churros for dessert were tasty but seemed slightly overcooked. The blueberry basil Moscow mule was delicious! Their lemonade is tasty, too. The gentleman at the bar was patient, friendly, smiley, and very helpful since it was our first time and we hadn't known the process. Walk in and scan the QR code to pull up a menu. Grab a table, find your table number, then order up at the bar and they bring the food to your table. I love the outside patio. There's a ton of shade, they allow dogs, and there's corn hole to play while waiting for your food. The upstairs (inside) has a small arcade as well. We'll definitely be back! read more

This was by far our go to place the week we spent on mounthood. I am from Portland and don't like paying the tourist prices while being at the timberline when our family comes and visits... So this is the every other meal place we tend to eat at. They have lots of good varieties pizza sandwiches great beer and a very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place before you go to any others and if you go during the summer time which we often do the outdoor seating is great. We got lots of different things over the time chicken wings fries fries pizza and everything in between and nothing was subpar... I would definitely say that this was by far the best food option of any other places around and we all agreed. The kids didn't go hungry and I definitely got lots of leftovers which as you know's father is half your diet I imagine during Winter months seating is harder because their inside isn't huge but I can definitely say it's worth checking out when you're in the area. read more

Ratskeller is a fun place to take the family where the adults can relax with a drink and the kids can be kids! We ate in the outdoor seating area. You choose where you want to sit, scan the qr code, choose what you want to eat from the menu, then walk up to the bar to place your order. The chicken wings are probably the best I've ever had. They were big and juicy! The skin was perfectly fried to a crisp crunch. We had the honey stinger sauce on the side, which was savory with a little hint of sweetness. The pizza was surprisingly huge! We ordered a large half rat pizza and half veggie supreme. It was loaded with fresh toppings and the crust was nice and crisp on the edge. To add to the great atmosphere and food, the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be making Ratskeller one of our normal stops when we come through Government Camp again. read more

Went here after some hiking around mount hood! Loved it. The inside was super cute. We sat outside because we had a dog with us. Such a nice touch with the turf and corn hole. I got a chicken sandwich. It was good, nothing spectacular. Similar to a chicken patty sandwich you would get in a school cafeteria.
