Watered down drinks and no safety protocols. I haven't been to a bar since before the pandemic and after seeing a packed parking lot, I almost didn't come into Pub West. The first things that I noticed were no masks (not even staff), no social distancing and dozens of rowdy people in very close proximity. In fact, there were probably over 100 people in this modestly sized bar. I ordered two gin and tonics that were both heavily watered down. At $4 each, I can't complain too much. I have to come back to safety measures. I didn't know if I should be appalled or not, but the fact that not one person in this bar was wearing a mask really disturbed me. Is this a North Dakota thing, just a fluke or do most bars operate like this? Social distancing was neither encouraged nor followed here. As soon as our drinks were finished, we bolted out. Due to no apparent safety protocols and watered down drinks, I cannot say that I had a particularly enjoyable time at Pub West. read more

This place had no identity that I could tell and the atmosphere was hard to grasp. I ordered the mango habanero wings as an appetizer, they weren't that good. I think the oil must have been a little hot because they were definitely burned. For my meal I had a pulled pork sandwich with fries. Without a doubt it was the worst pulled pork sandwich I remember ever having and it was cold by the time it reached our table. The fries were soggy and cold and I couldn't eat them. Everything is expensive in the place for what you get. The drinks are definitely watered down and you can taste it. The food prices are flat out dumb. I had fish and chips app and it was 6 tiny pieces of fish and a couple of handfuls of potato chips for about $13. The wife and I had never been here before, so we decided to give it a try. As the weather was gorgeous, we decided to go out onto the patio. BIG mistake! EVERYONE out here was smoking, which definitely flies in the face of the ND smoking laws about no smoking with 20' of a door into a business, but it was a constant distraction that made the whole experience even worse. Our server barely acknowledged us, despite the fact that she only had about three other tables (seemed to be a theme with all of the servers here). We started off with their Cheese Curds; some of the most-rubbery pieces of (what I hope was) cheese that we've ever had! My wife got the Caesar Wrap (they had it misspelled on their menu; I thought that was pretty funny), and I went with the Pub Burger. Both items were just ok; nothing very memorable. Been to Pub West a handful of times now. I'd tell my friends it's like Woodys, Bulldog, or Hooligans. Except it's bigger, nicer, and cleaner. Obviously just newer. The food is your basic bar food. Pretty decent. Your not coming here for the food. You come for the beers and booze. I watched the Bison championship game here, and the bar tenders pulled out about 20 bottles of champagne to toast the victory. I thought that was pretty unique. They also have a deal on red solo cups every Saturday worth checking out. It filled a void of a small section of "bar-less" West Fargo. The place is full most weekends, and will do real well for a long time to come. 4 stars. read more

Nice for a large group of people, as it's very spacious with a lot of tables. I came here on a Saturday night because I met someone who worked here, who said that Pub West gets crazy crowded/busy on the weekends. Shockingly (or maybe not so shockingly since it's fairly new), I came here with a group of friends to check it out and it was pretty empty. I'm looking forward to it becoming busier and more lively, and bet that it will in time, as more people in South/West Fargo hear about it. read more

I visited last night after Beer and Bacon. The place was packed and energetic. So energetic, there was a fight between the bouncers some drunk idiots from a party bus.. The bouncers and the owner ended up throwing an entire group of people out. Not the bars fault, but it shows the direction this place is going. I stopped by again today to have a beer after an afternoon of riding motorcycle. I was impressed that the Kolbalt 400 was on almost every TV and the sound to the race was on. After the race was over I requested the Wild vs. Avalanche game be on the TV's with sound. The game was turned on to TV by a very nice bartender, but the sound was turned onto some really LOUD TECHNO/HIPHOP station (which the bar tender apologized for). I left immediately after that. If I wanted to shout across the table to speak with my friends, I would have gone to the OB. I live nearby this establishment. There is a need for a good pub/bar in this part of town. Unfortunately, Pub West seems to be trying to fulfill the niche of the wild party pub of West Fargo. I will be staying away from this establishment and keeping to the places where I can have a conversation without screaming or random fights breaking out. read more

Tried this place out for the first time the other day. Got a burger, beer and fries. Beer was good and cold! Fries were good! Burger tasted like it had been cooked in breakfast sausage grease. I'm not sure if it was but totally tasted like a big sausage patty, not a beefy burger taste. read more

Pub west is interesting. Beautiful patio and ample seating inside. The staff is attentive. They have a happy hour. Pub West features a red solo cup special for draft beer that end to run all the time. There seems to be no real identity to Pub West. They have darts and pool tables and I've seen live music here but there really isn't a vibe. There's all kinds of age groups here. It's feels a little off. read more

Y'know those bars that have the music playing just loud enough that the patrons have to raise their voices to have a conversation, then the other patrons have to speak louder than those patrons to have a conversation, then sooner or later everyone is yelling and you turn to your buddy and yell "it's loud in here" and they reply "what?!" Well, that's Pub West. There's ample seating and tons of (decent sized) TVs. The drink menu is pretty standard and the food menu is your regular bar food. All-in-all your average neighborhood bar. read more

Stopped in - had a couple of beers, couple of burgers - service was great (fast), food was hot (burned my mouth 3 times) and atmosphere was like a sports bar. Outside there was gas touches going - probably will be great for cold evenings in the spring and fall. We will go back for sure! By the way, the food was out of this world - yummmmmmy! Hope I see more specials. Went back last week - food still yummy but the music was so loud the waitress couldn't hear our order and got it wrong. She apologized, and still was a really good waitress. House lights were all up and people were literally screaming at each other to talk. We probably won't go back until we can sit outside and enjoy the food and evening without the crazy noise. If you're looking for a place to sit and wait 20 minutes for a drink and then get horrible service on top of that then this is your bar! We stayed for 2 drinks and left immediately after we found out our waitress was done working as we saw her across the bar drinking. She decided to not inform us she was finished and left us waiting. After I had to go to the bar to get my tab, I signed my credit slip leaving no tip. I found out three days later she called it a "walk out" and gave herself $3, which is by the way ILLEGAL!!! read more

Great food! great beers and drinks! (I loved their Pear Cider!) Great atmosphere! Lots of TV screens all around! The patio is cool-- lots of cozy tables by the fire pits and heaters so it is very conducive to nice parties and get together even in the cooler nights! My uncle and I used their Save Coin coupon(free soda and fries) with entree. Food was ok. Fries were greasy. When it came time to pay, waiter who wasn't overly attentive said that it would have to be on separate slips. When I paid with credit card he said it would have to be on two separate entries. I put a 15% tip for the total on one credit card receipt and none on the other. When I got my statement, a 20% tip was added on the other credit card slip. Contacting them has gotten no results. I assume that this is business as usual and most people don't check their credit card statements. VERY DISHONEST !!!!!! read more

Went there for dinner. Was pretty quite. We had a couple of burgers and chili. Burgers were kind of blah and the hand cut fries were really soggy. The hand cut chips and the chili were both great! Unfortunately our dinners were served with a side of crappy service. Normally if it had been busy I wouldn't even mention this because I bartend, I understand. But our server stood up at the bar talking to the bartender most of our visit. When our meals came out, they were dropped off with nothing but silence. No "can I get you anything else" no "enjoy your meals." So that was awkward. We started chowing to discover both our ketchup and mustard bottles were brought out to the table empty. No one ever checked on us until after we were done eating and drinks had been gone for a long period of time. At that point our server asked if my date wanted another beer, he said no and she quickly ran off before I could even say anything. Had hail her down. This was sad because it was our first time coming here and left with a bad impression and will not be returning. We paid our tab and were not thanked for stopping or nothing. We then went next door to Flatland Brewery and spent the rest of our fun money. Should have just went there originally and got some Spicy Pie! read more
