Terrible. Rented for several months. Rent increased every few months without any notification. They make it virtually impossible to speak with anyone in person. The self-serve kiosk at the property is not any better. Speaking with a video representative is difficult due to poor audio. I finally moved my stuff out after the 3rd increase in rent. They went ahead and charged me an additional month. Again, without the ability to speak with someone in person, they can do whatever they want and you are basically powerless. I don't recommend renting from any business that doesn't have a rep. on site. read more

I am very upset. I moved into my storage unit 5/1/2025 at a rate of $125 per month. The rate increased to $175 8/1/2025 and on 2/1/2026 it increased to $228. This is ridiculous. They do this once you are moved in and they know it would be a major evolution to move out. Although, I am going to as soon as I can. I'm on a fixed income and I cannot afford the increases (which are not warranted since their operating costs could not have increased very much since there is no Public Storage employee at the location.) It seems to me that every self storage company I have used take advantage of their customers. read more

This place is a huge scam. They claim your first month is free. Once you sign your paperwork, they tell you that you have to purchase a lock from them because of the type of lock it is.....that is $20. The district manager is unbelievably unprofessional. Raven that works in the office is very nice and professional. That is the only thing I can say about this place. I have paid them over $400 and have not even been there for 3 months with a supposed first free month. I will be moving my stuff out of here asap. Please DO NOT rent a unit here. I moved into this storage unit in 2011. It started out at a pretty decent price of about $100 a month, this included the insurance on a 10×15 unit. Over the past few years, the unit has increased in price to $171 a month. That seemed a little steep to me, especially since whenever I tried to call or needed to ask a question when I was at my unit, there was never anyone in the office and no one would ever answer the phone nor call me back. About 70% of the time I'd visit my storage unit, the exit gate was stuck open, which meant that anyone could go in bc no one was in the office! I started looking around for the same sized unit, somewhere else. I found one for $89 a month..same size. $89 a month!! Cleaner, nicer & guarded! Not only is someone in the office during regualr office hours, they ALWAYS answer their phone!I immediately moved out this past week. I went onto the Public Storage website, where I always went to pay my bill and scheduled a move out date. All was fine and good until today when I received a phone call from Public Storage regarding an "urgent" matter..I think that's the second or third time I've had someone call me from there in the years I've rented a space and they only called if I was about to be late making a payment. Not sure what could be so "urgent" other than they lost my $171 a month. Not impressed. Find some where else to rent! read more

So far so good. As soon as I reserved my unit on line I got a call from the folks there asking if I had any questions. Tesha was super nice and friendly and got me started in my unit. The location is a little old and I would like to see the exit gate remain down all day (even Saturdays). Update 6/9/17 - Looks like the Gate issue still exists. After talking with Michael (he said he was the manager) at the Las Gaviatas Public Storage he wasn't concerned that the exit gate was 'broken'. He asked if I had a lock on my unit? Not exactly the response I was looking for. I am disappointed as one of the selling points was the limited access to the property. read more

This is a great location to work with. Tesha, the property manager, made it so easy for us when we signed up - even letting us know if we needed additional storage units for our stuff on the 53 ft long semi truck coming from California, she could get us set up - all we had to do was let her know. Then when we were downsizing to smaller unit and there was a billing issue, Tesha did not quit until she got it resolved by her District Manager and got the funds refunded to us. So happy to have found this location for our storage needs! read more

I inadvertently reserved another site, but when I was told that this one was closer I decided to rent it instead. When I actually did the paperwork I found out that the monthly cost had doubled. My first reaction was to just reserve for one month and then find another company to use, however I changed my mind because of Tesha. She is very professional, sharp, and makes me feel that I'm dealing with family. I really appreciate her and the company. read more

rented there since 2011, at times 2 30' units. never had a problem. tesha, in the office most helpful, as was the gentleman (cant remember his name). finally moved because i purchased a shed. got tired of paying for the unit. owning a shed a better deal for me. but, in the future, if need arises, i would have no problem returning to this public storage. thanks, read more
