The facility is nice and clean. But it seems like my rate has increased every couple of months since. It jumped after an initial period and that was an expected promotional rate. But it has increased twice since and now it double where it started. This is in a year's time. I'm not happy. read more

I already have an existing storage unit at the Inver grove heights location. I called on the phone days later for a second unit. I asked for something close to my existing **34 locker. The guy on the phone said **36 was available. I finished up with him. And I opened up **36 and left my valuable guitars in it. 12 guitars that I've had for decades. I'm going through a divorce so I have to dangerously store things. Yesterday I came to put the rest of my belongings in **36. And my lock had been cut off and a management lock had been put on. Went to talk to the manager. Yes, we cut the lock off and disposed of the guitars. She said she threw them in the dumpster. And the garabge truck crushed them two days ago! I then asked her who cut the lock. She said her auctioneer cut it off. I asked to talk to him. Crickets. I went back and looked at my agreement for **36. The idiot that found and told me to move into had accidentally written down E027. This number doesn't exist in the entire park. The park is 1000 through 5000 number sequence. I am devastated. My lifes work gone. The manager doesn't have any teeth and behaves like a meth addict. I believe she has a side hustle going on there and they are taking people's property and re selling it. And ironically? I had to rent a 3rd space to put my stuff into. Because I had friends and a rental trailer that needed to be returned in a few hours. I filed a police report today. They said anything found in any locker cannot be owned, sold or destroyed for 30 days. They have broken the law. And a good law abiding citizen like me on a fixed income is financially ruined. Public Storage will take your stuff even when they make a mistake. My guitars were in there for only 6 days. And they took them. Public Storage is scamming people. I will sue this company in civil Court. Im quite sure it will be years before I'm compensated. This manager at the Inver grove heights, MN location has a scam going on. And? Everything is watched by remote cameras. I should be able to look at the footage. If you want to lose your life savings? Rent at Public Storage! When i try to find help higher up than this nasty crooked manager I get caught in phone call limbo. Public Storage shame on you. I thought you were repreable. But you scammed me and now I'm out of $5,000 dollars worth of guitars. Public Storage is a dreadful, specious, nefarious company. Don't put one valuable thing in Storage there. Do not trust this business. Since I rented a 5 x 10 space in October 2021 they have increased the rent by $65 a month without any prior notice. This is no way to do business in Minnesota. I'm looking into legal action. There's absolutely no excuse for these increases other than greed. They hook you by giving you cheap rent for a few months then automatically increase it, that's pretty bad. read more

I have rented a storage unit at this location for about a month and every time I go there it seems something else is wrong. Either the elevators are broken or there isn't anyone there to help me with a question. Yesterday I went to drop some things off and I went into the east side entrance because it's closer to my unit, as I loaded everything in through the garage door I had put my own cart in front of the sensors so the door would stay open. Well it started shutting and we tried to stop it and also thought that the cart was there so it certainly will stop and go back up, but nope!! It literally came down and smashed my cart under the door. I could not get it out. What if that was a human being under there!! Totally not a safe place! I could not believe it just smashed my cart. I finally got a hold of the woman in the office and she came out and just basically said 'well, I guess it's broken' WTF??? What about my cart that is stuck under the door?? What about the fact that this is completely unsafe??? What if it was my leg under there??? Just doesn't seem like it's run very efficiently or they pay attention to safety issues or actually really care about the customers. I don't even know if they ever got my cart out because the lady didn't even bother to call me and give me an update. Don't waste your money. read more

On our move in date, she was helpful in giving us tips on how to maximize our storage capacity and also set-up auto pay as well as the importance of the insurance coverage. I stored my mother's items here for a year after she passed. The manager, Helen, was incredibly helpful, and went beyond the call of Customer Service. There was a slight rate increase in the middle of that year, which was annoying, but I'll blame corporate for that. Helen was nice! read more

My mother has had a storage unit on and off for five years with this company. She moved down to Ft Myers last year and was trying to establish her life. The hurrican hit and she lost her income and her rental. She recieved a letter from this horrible company saying they were raising her unit price 53%!!! NO NOTICE! She's in Florida dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. She called and asked for a bit of time and help. They said about not. Don't RENT HERE. read more

I have been using this company for storing my things for over 5 years. They just increased my payment by almost 53%. I explained that I moved to Florida and recently lost my rental in the hurricane. I had planned on moving my things down here right before the hurricane hit but I am now without a home so I am stuck paying them for the foreseeable future. I asked them to please let me pay what I have been paying but they don't care as it isn't in their policy to accommodate that price. They lowered my cost slightly for 3 months. We are a nonprofit business and have received four rental increases at this Public Storage location in just over three years. The first two increases were 10% each which we felt ok with, the third increase was 25% and this last increase was a whopping 35% for a total increase of double the rate at which we started - WOW! While Helen, the property manager, has no control over whether Public Storage will actually lower a rental price, she was very helpful in explaining various options that exist to try to get a lower price. With her assistance our price was reduced by 20%. While we abhor the Public Storage practices concerning these rate increases as it seems like game playing and taking advantage of the consumer, Helen's kind disposition and helpfulness is making it palatable to remain at Public Storage. Do not rent from any of these places. They don't even reason with anyone if you want to move your belongings out the second or the third of the month. You can at least speak with a landlord and get it prorated. I'm pretty sure sure that any landlord that I've had wouldn't charge you for the entire month if you gave them a heads up that's what's going on. This place will charge you for the entire mon regardless so be careful before you sign on that line. read more

Moving out has been a nightmare. You have to check with the property manager and you can never find someone at either Edina site. I tried canceling online and that didn't work. The water pipes burst in the winter. The entry doors are left ajar. Not secure. I used this for storage of business equipment as I travel in from out of state. Move-in was cordial, then downhill from there. They made a lot of money off of me and their unprofessional staff complained to me and made lame excuses. Go to the Bush Lake Road facility- it's an equally safe neighborhood and so much better. read more
