Worst service ever…read more Was quoted $69.99 for a daily rental, which included a $40.00 premium due to it being a late rental. When the truck was dropped off was charged 10 times that price. And that is not an exaggeration, almost $1,000 for a 10 hour truck rental. When the contract was being reviewed price was never discussed, just sign here, trusted they charged what they quoted, HUGE mistake. Was in no hurry to move, still had 30 days, never, ever would have knowingly approved such an outrageous price. DO NOT TRUST them, they will lie. When the charge was disputed the local manager said there are witnesses to this price being given, that is an outright lie. Talked to corporate office and the local store, the response is too bad it is a legally binding contract. That is understood but how ethical is it to increase the price 10 times, not double, the price was increased 10 times the quoted price. Don't let them fool you, Penske has done nothing to resolve this issue. The price for this truck is $29.99 plus mileage, we agreed to a premium price of $69.99 due to late rental. We were charged $699.99, and told too bad you signed the agreement. Don't trust them to charge what they agreed to.

My first experience here was really easy, the truck was $39.99 + Tax and suited all my needs. There was some confusion over my method of payment, they authorize a card for $250 for deposit then you get charged after the rental is returned for whatever the cost is plus mileage, gas, etc. The $250 then gets put back on your card, well in my case they accidentally charged my card, luckily they were able to refund it and there was really no harm done. My second experience was just as easy, I asked for the same thing I had a month ago and there was no questions asked. Once I payed I notice the rate is suddenly $49.99 + Tax. There is no price listing I can find on the web site and when I asked about the change I was told they just moved their rates on the 1st of the month. Seemed a little fishy to me especially since it was May 1st and I was specific in asking for the same thing I just had less than 30 days ago. I would think at the time i was filling out paper work before actually renting the truck someone would have mentioned, "Hey, by the way our rates changed starting this month and it is different from your last rental". I didn't really feel valued as a customer who came back twice in a month to rent equipment and was a little upset I wasn't informed about the change in price. I set up a new order with Uhaul on Como Ave and highway 280 right in the Minneapolis St Paul border. Como Ave, which did not open Super Bowl Sunday until 9 am, let me pay for the Truck Saturday before closing but not pick up the truck until 8 am Sunday before they opened ( ZERO parking because of Super Bowl). VERY nice concession. I arrived Saturday at 6 pm totally exhausted from intense packing and learned THAT MY EXTIRE RESERVATION had been DELETED.... by the EAGAN MANAGER who quite viciously PUT AN E-ALERT on MY ACCT. E-Alerts are created when customers fail to pay. These alerts BLOCK YOU completely and erase all future reservations with ANY Uhaul ‼‼ When Como Ave staff saw this they delved further on the E-Alert and found there was ZERO owed.... thus this alert was a complete SHAM, and totally dishonest. Wow. I started shaking in shock. Never in my 60 plus years of doing ANY business in NY MA CT FL CA WI VA has ANY company or individual done ANYTHING CLOSE...to this extremely vindictive action. He was furious with my first review which stated ," filthy truck, windows impossible to see through, cab reeking of smoke, zero shocks, the worst truck i have ever rented in 40 years of marriage, AND extremely demeaning condescending treatment. It felt sexist and racist since i am a white haired Asian American. I have worked with Longshoremen in intl shipping 1975-1980, and many many individuals in all walks of life as a VP of Mktg Adv and Pr later in my career which started at the bottom from scratch in 1972 in NYC, always first female first non- white. We were back no longer then an hour and a half and dropped it off. The next day I was billed 150 dollars vs the expected 20 something dollars. They said there was a new scratch on it that wasn't there before and that we are responsible for it till they check on it. Even after we dropped it off and its in THEIR parking lot that we are reliable for it. That is total bullshit!!!!!! how are WE responsible for it?!? its on THEIR property. After dropping it off we shouldn't be held liable. My brother is a truck driver!!! he is more then capable of handling borrowing some smaller vehicle for less then 2 hours without scratching it.... it was in some weird spot too ( the passenger side behind the window frame ) I find it so odd. I feel like we were framed so they can try to get a higher charge on us. Probably going to tell everyone I know about this so I hope they lose business. I for one am not going to be a customer.
