During what has been a very difficult transition in my life, their professionalism, compassion, and genuine human approach have made a meaningful difference. I originally rented my 10x20 unit shortly after separating from the Marine Corps. Over the years, emptying it has been a significant challenge. As a disabled veteran working full time, balancing this responsibility has not been easy. Wanda has been an absolute dream to work with--understanding, patient, and solution-oriented. I rented my unit at the beginning of March. Exactly 3 months later, I received a notice that my monthly rate would increase 20%. That is an increase of almost $40 per month after just 3 months. The contract given to renters does say they can increase rent AT ANY TIME as long as they give 30 days notice. I acknowledge that. However, I did ask when rent increases usually happen before I decided to use this company. The Extra Space Storage employee said that rent increases once after 6 months and then it does not increase again for another 12 months. It turns out that is completely false. I do not expect any kind of help from this company. They are within their contractual rights. after all. However, this is terrible treatment for a new renter, and I hope for this review to act as a warning to any person considering to rent here. I will be copying this review to other review aggregate sites.
