How this company is still open is beyond me. I've had nothing but problems since i started with them. communication is non existent and twice now when I've actually managed to set up an appointment to speak with someone in person they have just decided to not show up. they promised me one price and ive literally never paid that price they just charge me random amount each month which are more than double the price i agreed on. their lock was malfunctioning and I finally got someone to replace it and now I've been trying to gain access and they refuse to let me into my own unit because no one seems to know anything about anything. I mean it's insane to me how this company can possibly stay in business!!! if u don't want to waste hours upon hours of your life and have money stolen from you that you never agreed to pay definitely don't choose public storage! they are horrible!!!!!! read more

The property managers are very nice but the place itself is garbage, believe me if I didn't need my unit or could move somewhere else I would but it's currently not possible. Besides the fact that they reel you in with these great move in specials, not to far in the distant future, they will raise the prices continuously, there are broken elevators, carts that are filthy and some are barely usable, sometimes the supposed secure entrance doors have somehow been left open. And the building itself is nasty which at first it was very nice and clean but has deteriorated over the years. I can go on and on but my point is, as a person who relies heavily on reviews I have to be honest......if you have a choice DO NOT come here! And if you find another place that's slightly more expensive take it because Public Storage will eventually raise the prices to where it's more than the place you've chosen. read more

Public Storage is an indoor climate controlled facility who has had their air conditioning out since May 5th and it still isn't fixed today. The old company who owned this location never had the problems they have had since Public Storage took over. I had a conversation with the on duty manager this past weekend, about the A/C and the trash all over the lot and building, and his answer was he didn't have a clue when it would be fixed. He then raised my rates within 2 days after complaining about the building being a mess and non working air conditioning. I am going to pursue this to corporate. Great location if you live on Treeline but the price is very high compared to the other locations. It's unfortunate it's not a 24 hour option and it's only one way in. So, if your unit is on the other side good luck if you need to park on the outside and need to walk. read more

Clean and good place to store stuff, but they will double your rent with a post card that looks like it's just checking your address. When I looked on website it says rent went up $10, but when I "chatted" with a person online they said that was new customer pricing. I don't have a problem with rent increase. What I have a problem with is the way they notify you that it went up (sneaky) and that it doubled. Also, you can not talk to anyone on the phone. When you get to the local manager, he knows nothing about rent and won't be able to help you. This is not an attack on the employees. They were always very friendly and the space was clean and cool. Convenient to where I live. Value's not bad comparatively. Access to gates and doors can be electronic (via their app) or by key pad. Although, the interior door seems to only work via key pad. Leaving the rear access of the facility could be easier though. A sign says the gate is automatic, just pull up close to the gate. I pulled up really close and the gate didn't open. Opened the app and opened the gate that way. read more

Before you rent from this place, ask yourself if you can afford to pay double or triple the rate they quoted you, because it won't be long before you'll be paying that higher rate, trust me. I rented a 5x10 at this facility and within 2 months, my rate went up by $6. I was surprised & disappointed by the sudden increase, but it still wasn't a deal-breaker, so I let it slide. (I was annoyed, however, because I had shopped around for the best price!) Please note that when I signed my contract, it WAS NOT an INTRODUCTORY price - so I expected to retain that same pricing for the duration of my rental period. Today, I've reached the one year mark on our rental period, and just received an email letting me know that my rent payment is going up 250%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What business [aside from Comcast] does this?!?!?! Who treats their customers like that?! I'm so disappointed and disgusted. This company lack massive integrity. the process to get the storage unit was great online very satisfied but when I went to the office to ask questions because I've never rented a unit here or anywhere before your front desk lady was extremely rude first off your office hours say 9:30 but when I get there at 10:30 it's locked I knock no one answer I go to the other side to see if she's in the office because I see a purse . Knock again no answers. Took 15min for her to come open the door and when she does already attitude On her face I ask her if I had to get the key from her because I notice no lock at the unit . Like I said I've never rented one . She makes a face and say you have to break it it's inside. Like I'm stupid for not knowing. I say thank you I wanted to make sure because I've never rented a unit. I thought online it said I had to come in with ID to front desk so I did. I didn't appreciate how I was treated in that interaction plus she made me late for work for how long it took just to get an answer for a simple question I also called by the way and she didn't answer the phone. This place is a wreck. So, my card date expired and my auto withdraw doesn't go through. No big deal- unless you're at public storage. They start calling me everyday like stage 5 clinger girlfriend who just won't let it go. But to be honest, I'm not in a huge hurry. It's just a storage unit. I'm very busy and I'll get to it. (I fully realize I have some culpability for not making it more urgent). Oh not public storage. They're too proud for reason. They're also stupid. I get an email with a freakin auction threat! I'm like 10 days "late". Being more studious, I paid attention then! Lesson learned. I hustled on the phone and paid it. (They had already cut the lock. Really low rent stuff.) All clear, right? Nope. Too stupid for that. My wife goes over to get Christmas decorations and the Green Beret on duty, (you know, commando cube cop?) tells her it's up for auction and she's not permitted to remove anything. "My paperwork says..." She calls me confused, like any reasonable person would. I hustle over to find out that it's all been worked out. The Commando has some paper in his hand that is apparently a list like Santa's naughty list. Problem is, it's at least 2 days old. I show him the email showing it is paid. "Yeah, I got it figured out." now, this place has a camera in pretty much every corner. You have to have a code to get in the complex, a code to get in the inside units, a code to use the elevator to get to your unit, and a code to leave. But this place can't figure out, "if you don't pay, you're locked out. How could that lady get all the way to her unit?" Sharp like a tennis ball. But it's also a teachable moment. And whomever is supervising should know. I don't expect Commando kid to know. He's clearly still on shapes and colors and the proposition a little thought is out of his league. Evidenced by not wondering how a person could pass all security points with no code and get into a locker with a changed lock. Way too deep. But the manager should know. So, I ask commando, "who's the manager here?" He goes it alone and says, "I'm not allowed to give that information out." (Yes, seriously). Now, what kind manager places themselves in a position not to be reached. I'd fire him/her on principle. I said, "yes you can. They are a supervisor. They should have some sort of contact info." Commando calls back up. "I'm calling the cops." I left. Called the responding officer. Had a good chat. Cop says it's civil. Which I told commando... But again, it's sometimes hard to deal with people like that. So, before you go getting all "Katenated" on me, today... hold still... today... they send me a bill for December's unpaid. This would be after the email sent the other day confirming my cancellation. im guessing someone printed the wrong paper list. In an automated world, Public Storage circumvents a system to get to the lowest possible efficiency. You've been warned. read more

I rented a small space from this location (Rte 82 in Fort Myers, FL) in November 2020 at a good rate. At the end of April 2021, I was sent short notice that my rate would increase 130% with my next monthly payment for June 1. It had been $38.16. It would have gone to $87.98. I was 1300 miles from Fort Myers when the notice was received. Fortunately, I was returning to Fort Myers for a few days in May and yesterday I moved to another storage facility that not only was less expensive than my original rate with Public Storage but allowed me to lock in the lower rate by prepaying for a full year. Adding insult to my existing relationship, Public Storage offered a lower rate on the web for new customers than my renewal the day my renewal letter arrived. Both locations, Public Storage and the alternative facility I am at now are very new and clean. So my rating? The Public Storage Facility itself is nice... corporate management sucks. 4 or 5 stars on the Facility but corporate management gets zero stars. That averages out to 2 stars, my above rating. The alternate location was a 10 minute drive from Public Storage and about the same drive from my Florida home. More... I made 3 phone calls that ended up at the Public Storage Call Center asking to speak to a manager about any rate relief ended up being not returned after a promise that they would be doing so. When I talked with a very nice person at the public storage site where I had my belongings they explained they were powerless to do anything. If you get a large increase with your current Storage company it pays to shop! I saved just short of $600 for the next 12 months by doing so. read more
