These guys are the absolute worst. Had been recommended never using this particular location before getting a storage unit. Apparently they auctioned off my buddies storage unit on accident when he wasn't even late. His brother's ashes were in the unit. Have been there a few years, rent has trippled. I didn't take that advice to my dismay during covid. My rent tripled way before covid. The ceiling leaks, place looks like shit inside. They can't even staff it. I tried to pay my bill last month but nobody was there and I drove an hour to go pay it. Then they charged me an extra ten to pay on their automated phone system. Maybe if you pay a living wage you can staff your location, or maybe the owners should run the place. That's what you do if you are understaffed and own a business. I've been there myself Biggest pieces of shit I've ever given my money to. I'm talking worse than cell phone companies. I don't have a unit here, but the company I work for does and I go over there frequently to get supplies. Two issues I have; 1) The access keyboards (where you enter in your code to get in and exit), are not able to be done from your vehicle as you pull up. You have to get out, walk around the vehicle, enter your code, then go back to your vehicle, and then drive in. Every storage facility I have been too, including my own that I use to store cars, has a drive up access for both entrance and exit. The exit you still need to get out, put the code in and then go back to your vehicle. 2) It's kinda "dumpy". It's not necessarily dirty, just "old" and "well used" might be the best way to describe it. Weatherstripping is coming out of the grooves on the doors, door strings broken, door lock mechanisms are kinda hard to work, and inside the unit, just, again, looks dumpy. The driveways between buildings are not in the best of shape, etc... read more

I agree with the other reviews about Aggie (Augustina). She is cheerful, helpful, gives good advice about how to pack the storage unit, and goes above and beyond to correct any administrative errors. Also, everything is neat and clean. The reason this is a 2 is because someone by the name of Chris changed the online reservation I made. I reserved a 10'X10' outside unit with drive-up access, and did the express check-in online. When a reservation is done online there is a cost savings. When I arrived to continue the move-in process, my reservation was changed to the same size unit on the first floor. This is not OK....my husband and I do not want to trek down a hallway! Aggie was very confused about the whole thing because the change had the same confirmation number. Fortunately, I printed the reservation from my email after I completed it so it was time stamped. After Aggie made several phone calls, this error was resolved, and I have the drive-up access unit I reserved. Thank you Aggie! So, to be able to reserve online and do express check-in, I had to create an account with a log-in and password. Given that the changed reservation had the same confirmation code, does this Chris person have an admin code, and/or are log-ins secure? This is a concern. For sure I will not be setting up automatic payments, and I am a bit leery about paying online. Fortunately, we only need to store things for a little while. I believe I will go to the office on the first of the month and pay cash for now. read more

I checked out of this location not only becaused they raised the rate to start with at $99 to $178 plus every thing was water damaged and full of mice droppings. Many of the items were also chewed on. Even though I had insurance to start with it was denied because they said i couldn't properly value it. The corporate office wouldn't even call me back. read more

I made a reservation for a 10x15' garage for $69/month this week. I was contacted no less than 5 times via email/text/phone confirming and reminding me of my reservation for Sunday 10/27. Well I showed up exactly on time and they pulled a bait and switch saying they rented out my unit and now the price was $87. After I pushed back very firmly they honored the original $69. Then I go to park my sports car in the garage and it won't even come close to fitting. My car is 174" long and 15' is 180" so I naturally assumed I would have 5" to spare. Well, the length was falsely advertised and it's actually about 14'2". So then they tried to charge me $179 for a 10'x20'. I left in disgust and will never rent from them again. They are extremely unethical. read more

I would not use this storage company again! I had been a loyal customer using more than one unit over several years, and had the pleasure of dealing with Property Manager, Augustina, for most of the time. "Aggie" was awesome in every way! Informed, diligent, responsive, understanding, and very kind, which is an important attribute when a tenant is going through the stresses of moving, and placing items into storage. Customer Service was just the opposite in every way. After partially vacating my last unit on 3/17/17, I spoke with "Art' (ID No.: 31011) at 4:40 pm CST who assured me that I was due a partial refund upon my full vacancy, which would be mailed to me in 6-8 weeks, and an $8.35 discrepancy on another unit would be cleared up with the District Manager. I fully vacated on 3/23/17, called Customer Service at 6:05 pm CST to let them know, and a rude representative named "Marie" said "Art" was wrong, and that if it were her, she would not say anything of the sort, and told me nothing could be done. After explaining that Public Storage speaks with one voice to its tenants, she transferred me to a manager, and I was next recording all details into his/her voicemail. I never received a call, text, or email response. Summary: Augustina was AWESOME, and an asset to Public Storage. Unfortunately, she is only at the Geneva, Illinois facility. But their Customer Service dictates policy everywhere, and is awful; go anywhere else if you can. read more

Upon arrival, he showed me the storage unit and made sure that it would meet our needs. He was very professional and helpful. We have rented space from this unit several years ago and received the same wonderful service and great rates that I did today. read more
