Over the years I have been to a few other public storages. I won't name them or their locations because I have already left reviews a long long time ago. I'm telling you that this public storage is so far one of the best I've been to. My stuff is much more secure I can just tell by the layout compared to the other couple storage places. Plus it was getting late about 7:00 I think and I needed to get my stuff put in my storage unit and so I was able to go online and literally get my unit fast signed a couple documents online and boom I was able to go straight to my unit I had a map so it was easy to find. Unloaded everything and was out in time for closing. The day after I got a voicemail from a woman just confirming that everything went smoothly and if there's any problems then to come in or call her back but I haven't found any as of now so a few days later I got a call from a gentleman who I actually spoke to he also just wanted to make sure everything was okay and if there's anything that I needed and I think that they are doing very good job very through we're checking up on the customers that are doing online check-ins which is important and I have not seen or smelt anything like are described in other reviews maybe they got the wrong location because this location is very nice thank you guys for all your help and making this process easy. I recently rented a 10' x 10' storage unit at the nearest Public Storage. The exterior of the facility received a new paint job within the past year or so, which I was very happy to see as a resident of the neighborhood. The interior grounds of the compound, within the fenced area, seem to be well maintained. The buildings and blacktop looked decent. There are cameras and lighting placed throughout the facility for security and safety. Facility entry is accessible via drive-up keypad or by using the downloadable app. Overall, the process of renting a unit was quite easy. A couple of brief phone calls got me a reservation for a unit with a Labor Day discount. Discount deals are always nice, especially when you don't think to look for them. The reservation lasts for a week, which locks in any discount, allows time to shop around, or opt out altogether. It's a good reminder to look for a discount deal and it seems that many storage facilities offer various discounts. The information and readiness updates for the unit I rented arrived via text and email. They were easy to read and the instructions were easy to follow. The unit I was issued was in a fairly clean, dry, and decent condition, although, clean-up directly in front of the unit could have been a little more thorough. The roll-up door was sealed for new tenant readiness, functioned properly, and a new cylinder lock with keys were inside the unit. The only negative to the unit was the medium strength odor of dog. I'm quite sensitive to such odors, as I do not have pets, but this may not be an issue for someone who already has pets. The last thing most anyone wants when putting nice, fairly new furniture and personal belongings into a storage unit, is the prospect of it all having a foul odor when it's time to retrieve it, whether it be due to pets, smoke, mold, mildew, or the like. To help remediate against the odor, I took a leaf blower and blew out the unit. Then, I evenly sprinkled about two bottles of Odor Eaters powder over the concrete floor and covered the floor with Husky brand 3.5 mil plastic sheeting that I cut to size to provide a clean, powder-free space to place my belongings on. In addition, I wrapped the couch and love seat in new moving blankets (which U-haul calls pads) and then stretch wrapped them. I slid the mattress into a plastic mattress cover (also from U-haul), taped it shut, and shrink-wrapped it, as well. All-in-all, I'm fairly happy with the storage unit and facility and don't hold the odor against the facility operator as it has more to do with the previous tenants, or adjacent tenants, and is likely a usual occurrence of the storage business model itself. Have been very frustrated with this storage unit. My son let them know he was moving out on a specific date. Still ended up charging him for another month. When called to get it straightened out, the lady was helpful, told us it was taken care of and then a week later, my son gets a notice of foreclosure and auction! All because when my son moved out he left THEIR lock on . The unit is empty. There will be nothing to auction off! When I try to call the onsite manager, I leave a message and get no call back. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with!! read more

This facility had a Rat infestation at some point in the past few years due to food in a tenants unit. Multiple tenants have complained about rat urine and feces being all over their items and even submitted insurance claims. Only to find out the insurance only covers $250 for rodent infestations. This means no matter the cost of the items in your unit the insurance only covers $250. So if you have anything at this location I would recommend any other company other than this one. They will drop your payment down $48 which doesn't help either. I personally had to get rid of over $1,000 worth of house hold goods that had been soaked and stained with rat urine. I swept up a literal mound of rat feces and can probably do that again. Yes, I had to clean the unit myself and was unable to recover those items. The inconvenience alone was terrible but the loss of my goods is personal. Shame on this company and their insurance providers for allowing people to lose what they are supposed to protect. read more

A friend is storing her things in an inside unit at this location. I have been in it on three or four occasions and each time there has been evidence of rats. First, when you walk you are greeted by the smell of your kids not cleaning the animal cage for months. While walking ing in today we saw a rat running away above us as a piece of insulation floated to the floor. You can hear them overhead as we work and there are holes in the insulation over her unit. When she spoke to management about her concerns,they wrote it down for the owners but nothing changed. She's concerned that her stuff is vulnerable to damage. Everyone's stuff is at risk of pest damage there. At the very least the management should be concerned about their liability for the air quality they subject their clients to. Not good for those who have health concerns and even if they don't it's not good for anyone to breathe layers of urine and fecal matter. (Not to mention the inevitable decaying rat bodies) (Look up Hantavirus) For the money that is put out per unit by clients in the place, I think they should be able to at least keep things clean and safe. That means investing in prompt, effective remediation of pests. A few traps is a good start but an aggressive and transparent to clients plan of action is what is needed. read more

I have not had to use storage in many years, but found when moving our other place in California home to Oregon, it was not going be crammed into our house. I surfed the web for deals. The prices fluctuate so hard, there can be up to a $40 difference a month. That is where they lose stars. I checked one day, went back the next and it was up $25 and I got stuck with that price because I didn't lock it in. The girl checking us in, super friendly. But if you see a good price, lock it in, there is no cost. Other places in Gresham, after we moved in, seemed to have better deals, as it much be the name of the storage game to change prices based on need, but the its a big swing. Easy in and out, you get stuck buying their lock and there are fees, so that first month free is not free, we ended with $40 charges when we left by time they got lock and everything. read more

I had an awful experience with public storage and will never utililize their services ever again.

Initially management was nice but after getting behind payments bc of unexpected unemployment they stopped communicating in a normal manner and began harassing me by contacting inappropriate parties/persons, took the lock off (wasn't even under auction), and then expected me to come purchase a new lock when I'm now living in another state. They also increased the rent. I am so disappointed in the efforts made by the management to communicate. Just leave a voicemail at the number on the file. No need to use bogus numbers and hang up, call old employers, and jeopardize my safety....especially if it's just to replace a lock. Y'all aren't debt collectors, you're property managers. read more

I purchased my storage and got a text to come to the office on 2636 NE Hogan DrGresham, OR 97030. I showed up and the office was closed. I then had to call and wait almost an hour for someone to tell me they email the property manager and they'd give me the gate access and show me tbe unit once they received the email. I explained I was on a ti.e crunch and needed to unit and gate access now. They were extremely rude, unprofessional and just not compassionate. I had to call again and speak to someone else and threatened to cancel my service and demanded a refund. I was finally given gate access and my unit #, which I had to go fund on my own. I don't unit why text messages are being sent to show up with your ID when no one is at this office. Moving is already stressful process. And to top it off they told me I'd have to drive to another location to get credit returned for my lock. Disgusting how they conduct service. They are quick to take your money, but could care less about you accessing a storage you all paid for! Take your business somewhere else, please! read more

Please note you were notified that I would be canceling my storage needs for this location the first week of February and I asked that you prorate my billing for the remainder of February as I am having serious medical complications and under strict doctor's care and my co-pays are so high at this time and cannot afford storage any longer. I was told that my medical reason did not give allowance for my request of a lower charge for my early removal of items on February 1st and the unit was cleanly swept and ready for the rental for another tenant as needed. I was most disappointed with your refusal to help me in my hour of need with my serious medical problems and loss of my husband with ALS also. Today I receive an email that my storage for March which is done by auto pay from my checking account is now due and payable and this makes me concerned that you have not had an opportunity to correctly mark me as no longer using unit #419 and also that you have not checked it as promised to that you would see that is was acceptable and left as required. I do not have funds due to two medical prescriptions EACH of which have a co-pay of over $250 per month which are needed at this time. That is why I had to give up my storage area right away and had to donate all the things so dear to me and my husband who just died. Please email me a response to this as I have recommended you to so many friends and family and would not want to have to notify them that there seems to be a serious communication delay and lack at this time and that they need to be wary. Would again appreciate your serious consideration of giving me back even a two week or better refund on a storage unit that I have seriously had to have friends vacate for me and leave clean and ready for your use this month. I understand that Public Storage does consider this in situations such as mine and that would be what I would like to share on Google and Facebook--folks need to know how wonderfully helpful and professional your business tactics are indeed. Today my husband and I rented a 10x20 unit at the Public Storage on Hogan in Gresham, OR. Karla, the property manager, was extremely friendly, helpful and kind in making the transaction go smoothly. She showed us the exact unit we would be renting, and it's location on the grounds. She explained how and when the gate worked and showed us the surveillance system that monitors the property making me feel assured that our belongings were in a good place! we have been with them for year's with no problem's untell we had our in not out unit brook in to they didn't pay us for 1/2 of what was taken and the amount they did you can't replace it and you have to prove it and then after that they well raise your rent by a lot so the little bit they give you they get back by the higher rent were going to leave next month people are paying less then we are for the same size unit read more

After nearly three years of doing business with them I am now not allowed gate access because I am less then one month behind in my payment. When i spoke to the store 2 days ago i told them when i would be able to get caught up before the threat of auction ( which they threaten with as soon as you go past the 6th) there was no mention of access to my unit being blocked. I have been late before, payed late fees of close to 25 percent of rent but never been denied until this month. Admittedly is is my fault for being late but I do not understand how and why this is now changed without any communication. read more

We intended to rent a 5X10 and wound up with a 10X10 with easy drive-up access - the price is more than reasonable compared to other storage facilities and everyone was helpful, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Specifically, Kristi, Erin and the property manager, Brian, all went out of their way to accommodate our needs and answer our questions. We did a walk-through of the property along with an overview and explanation of the gate and hours - we're glad it's not 24/7 access and prefer the stricter policy. It's a secure location with high fencing and best of all it's clean and well-maintained. There's also a restroom near the office. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience and highly recommend this Public Storage location. read more
