Public Storage has a documented reputation for providing inaccurate unit information, both online and via phone representatives. It has now been over two weeks since I filed a formal complaint regarding the gross misrepresentation of my rental that I paid for over the phone. Despite explicitly informing your staff of my impending knee replacement, I was assured my unit would have elevator access and be located near the lift. Upon arrival, I discovered that the public storage in that location is not facilitated with an elevator, and the information about the size of my storage was entirely false. This forced me to traverse the facility yard in significant physical pain on the day of my move to find a viable alternative. Ultimately, I was pressured into renting a unit at triple the original quoted price because I was already mid-move. This lack of integrity and accountability is more than just mismanagement; it is a predatory bait-and-switch. I am still awaiting a call from a supervisor to resolve this. read more

The company was sued with a class action lawsuit in California for the very same business ethics. The company is nothing more than a huge corporate money maker with absolutely no care for their customers ESPECIALLY if you are a victim of their employee theft! No level of management in the surrounding Houston area is willing to take responsibility for the theft of over $4000 in our equipment loss that took place under THEIR lock and key. Their insurance we are forced to take will not take responsibility because their is not sign of "forcible entry". Why force your way in when your entire current and past staff has a master key? If you value your items you want to store, take the warning... go elsewhere! I have rented storage units across the country. This Public Storage location property number 29153 at 1165 N. Loop West, Houston, TX is not only the best in the area, but also the best in the country! Mostly because of the tireless efforts of George, Charlie and Chris to service their customers with kindness, care and a smile. I have rented 2 different units at this location. The staff are courteous. Mr. George and Ms. Charlie were great to work with. The facility is clean, it appears pest free. It is also well lit, and the spaces, procedures, and functionality were all adequate. With the Southeast Texas heat and humidity, climate control is paramount to ensuring your belongings aren't ravaged by Mother Nature. Anyway, Public storage is a bunch of disgusting, roach infested, flooded rooms that destroy your property and refuse to pay for it citing the fine print of your 100 page contract. I have been using this facility since April 2004, over 9 years now. That should say a lot! They have many different size units with different costs. They allowed me to move around through the years as my needs changed. Miss Charlie in the office is especially helpful!
