For the first few months we had the storage everything was ok. Recently my family ran into a situation where we were unable to pay storage. When we did pay they kept sending the money back. They received a payment in July and a payment in August which was refunded. Don't know why but it was. There was never an email or text sent. When I checked the account it was only one month behind. When I went to make a payment they had sold my things. Now my family's identity and everything is in someone else's hands and we have to start all over. read more

DO NOT rent a space here. My husband and I had a 3rd floor space, and we FLEW to DC for the weekend to move our stuff out. Upon arrival, we learned that the elevators have apparently been out for two MONTHS. When we scheduled our move out, we talked to one of the staff, and they said NOTHING about this issue. We could barely fit some of our items down the stairs, and were completely unprepared for moving our incredibly heavy furniture down three flights. For the duration of our time there, we couldn't find anybody working to address the issue. On a Saturday. Several other people there were also quite displeased. One gentleman got stuck on the second floor because the door to the stairs would not open. Another moving in told us that if he had known about the elevators, he would have rented somewhere else. Clearly they are being deceitful, and not communicating with their customers. In addition, there seems to be a tarp serving as a wall on one side of the building. There was also evidence of rodent activity (feces and nest). We can not stress enough that you should avoid storing your belongings here. read more

When the office is open is when you can access your storage. 6pm or 5pm is not convenient times due to people working hours. You do NOT have 24hrs access. Only 9 hrs Monday - Friday and less on the weekend. read more

Good day. I gave this location 5 stars because of the excellent customer service Sal provided for me on 3/18/2023 when I came in to pay a bill for my unit at the Laurel, Conte Road location. The unfortunate part of the business transaction was when Sal had to reach out to the Laurel location to verify certain specifics of that transaction were reflective on their end. The onsite service representative, Martha answered the phone, and in her normal dismissive tone and unprofessional demeanor showed less of a concern with why Sal called from another location than she would have if I had been standing in front of her. She was rude to Sal, and because the phone call was due solely to complete a transaction on my behalf, a current customer for over 3 years, she was equally as rude to me! I pride myself on being a decent person and treating people with decency, respect, and kindness whenever possible, with no exception where Martha is concerned. I always have, however, the opportunity provided a situation where I had a witness. I question the possibility of the Laurel location being hard up for employees by tolerating Martha's unprofessionalism. Or does her manager ever know, or to that extent, care? Mr. Sal, "thank you", for being the type of individual that companies should hold in the greatest esteem, especially when conducting operations that continue to provide company solvency by servicing its customers in the manner you did for me - as well as the customer before me! read more

Smooth online and on-site process. Jessie(?) was helpful and positive. Temperature-controlled building, so items less likely to be damaged from heat or moisture. Therefore, units are not the least expensive, but a good value. Carts available to move things. Was not very busy. Easy to access elevator and unit. Restroom is clean, in case pitstop is needed. Look, it's a storage unit so there's not much to review. The unit itself was fine, the security is good and the move-in/move-out is easy with so much room on the lot. The biggest problem I have is that I was charged an absurd "cleaning fee" despite my unit being totally free of ANYTHING! My moving crew and myself inspected the unit, removed all the packing products and the stupid moisture removal bucket they pressed me to buy. Everything was gone. Still, they charged about $100 to what? Sweep? Again, it's absurd. It feels like they are just taking advantage. It's certainly a scam fee. In hindsight I wish I didn't tell them I was leaving the East coast because they knew I wouldn't return to yell at them. Anyway, there are better options out there. I suggest doing your research better than I did. I was desperate to move. read more

Set up process was easy and seamless both online as well as once I got to the office. I needed a unit fast/cheap due to personal reasons where I had nowhere to put extra of my things, and the property manager took time to talk to me and ensure I was okay as well as walk me through the process and take me up to the unit. I only had the unit for a couple of months since I moved and had to relocate to another location, but the service was amazing! read more

Went to put items in storage today. The front gate wouldn't open with the app so I had to exit the vehicle to manually punch in my code. Once inside there were no carts and both of the elevators were out of service. Given my unit is on the 4th floor I had no intention of trying to carry a car full of boxes up four flights. I went to the office to ask when the elevators would be back in service and the entrance door handle fell off in my hands. The place is pretty run down. When I entered the young man at the desk was on the phone with a customer who had been complaining about the elevators since January. The young man in the office was very sympathetic and I understand the issue with the elevators is way above his pay grade. He said he would have to speak to the district manager who was supposed to be in today. It is pretty clear from the state of the elevators that they are not well maintained. Meanwhile I have a car full of boxes that I cannot put in my storage unit. I will revisit this review once the elevators are put back in service. Hopefully it won't be long. read more

Ebony was friendly and extremely knowledgable and helpful - she answered all of my questions and helped me pick the appropriate -sized storage room (I was originally going to get a 10x10 and ended up securing a 5x10). The location is perfect (less than 15 minutes away from my home). The security looks great - I love that folks have individual codes to enter and exit the premises. We have rented from the Hyattsville Public Storage previously always been satisfied. One time we rented we ready for 4 months another time we ready we ready for 6 months and we've always been satisfied and happy. This time we rented just yesterday for a week and Ron the manager has been exemplary. Ron has been always polite diplomatic and professional.
