WHY WOULD YOU POSSIBLY NOT GET A POLICE REPORT WHEN THERE WERE MULTIPLE BREAK-INS AND YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHO DID IT??? The initial people I rented with in the early 2000s were great. But then it was purchased by another large storage company. Sure, there were rats, and sure, they soiled and destroyed some of my stuff. But that happens; I understand. THE BIG PROBLEM WAS THEFT, AND THE WAY THEY HANDLED IT. After I left the state with all my favorite things in storage, my unit was broken into...at some point. I don't think they knew how long ago it was broken into, though it was clear that someone(s) spent hours or even days in there. The thieves left food wrappers from multiple fast food places, stole approximately half of my stuff, and destroyed what they didn't want (antique ceramic animal collection was smashed all over the the place, so they weren't even quiet). It was not because the super expensive lock they made me purchase from them was cut, but because their cheap hasp was broken! They didn't even place my nice lock inside the unit; no one knows what happened to it. They had no police report whatsoever, and were loathe to work with me to get one of my own, even though that made interacting with my insurance company much more challenging. This is particularly baffling given that once I was onsite, I learned that multiple units had been broken into, and that it was by some people who had also a unit there!! So, they had all their info, but did nothing!!! The whole process was heartbreaking and awful, to see so much evidence that the thieves didn't even efficiently move everything out, which might be difficult to detect. It appeared they spent days there, just hanging out, sorting through all my stuff, and breaking things. And I was not the only victim!! Appalling. read more

This was the worst possible storage experience, and I would like warn everyone considering storing their stuff here to read this review first!!! We were asked if we would like insurance for our stuff. We declined, and discovered later that someone had broken into our unit and STOLEN our stuff. The staff said they weren't responsible because we didn't buy insurance. Inside job?? Furthermore, we had stuff in 2 different units, and discovered rats had infested in both. See photos... our stuff was covered in rat droppings and urine. The stench alone had permeated and destroyed all wood/paper items, and we will have to bleach/dry clean all the remaining items. We discovered many bags of items had been chewed through, and rats had destroyed the clothing items. Again, we had declined to purchase insurance (isn't the job of the storage facility to safely store stuff?), and the company said they were not responsible. Also, we found black mold on a bed frame that had gone into the unit in pristine condition. About 80% of the items we stored were permanently destroyed and had to be taken to the dump. We would have been better off saving our money and not even bothering to store the items. And the storage unit refused to compensate us for any of this, or comp any storage unit fees. Public Storage Lynnwood... they send out an email asking for a review when you First Sign up so naturally most people are happy. Public Storage sent an email increase rent for September 1. Given Covid I thought it was not fair. I contacted Public Storage and they lowered it back to the original amount; it seemed was poor timing on Public Storage's fault. read more

The staff seem friendly when they are there, which lately hasn't been often. Facility has rats. Gate was broken for 6 weeks and left standing open during the day, even when there was nobody in the office. Power was out in the building my unit is in for almost two months. Find a better facility, it won't be hard. read more

I will never recommend this facility unless you want a rat infested unit. If I can give them 0, I would have. My unit was located in a room where there's at least 4-5 units in it. I left my things in great condition. I rented the unit for about a year. When I started renting there, the representative showed this unit with "Jyhad " and some more disturbing signage in it. I really needed a unit at the time for my upcoming move so I accepted it as long as I will not be held responsible. I came back a year later. The lights in the room I am at were out so my partner and I took my things out of the storage only to realize that they're all covered in rat urine and feces. According to the employee there, there were others who complained about the rat infestation in the area where my unit is at. I tried to file a complain since the facility where my unit is at is their responsibility. It may not be their responsibility on what's inside my unit but their facilities' unsanitary issues directly cost the damages in my property! I lost about $1500 in damaged items which accounts for about 80% of the things stored in my unit. I reported them to the State of WA Atty General's office. Instead of addressing the issue, they told me I am responsible for my own things even though it is their responsibility to ensure the cleanliness of the facility! I don't have anything in my unit that would attract rats and I wasnt the only one affected by this issue. They also lied about knowing that there's rat infestation. This company is a joke and I've worked in the service in the industry. I'm reluctant to file complaints but the way they have treated me, the lack of accountability and the situation I was placed in was completely unacceptable. If you're reading this and your property were also damaged by rat urine and feces, you should totally file a complain about them as well. read more

Babes helped me get a unit about a month ago and I've had a great experience so far. She's very friendly and has been a great help! I forgot to make a payment this month and she worked with me on the fees. The manager was also great! I forgot her name but we had to leave a couch in the hall overnight because it couldn't fit our unit and we had to return the truck right away. She was very polite and understanding about it since we were able to take care of it the next day. read more

What a joke. People live in their units (management knows this) and there is so much theft here it's ridiculous. I recently came home to WA (I live out of state) and had the wonderful surprise of realizing my unit had been broken into and stolen from. Management knew that the surrounding units to mine had been burglarized, but didn't know mine was. So, they didn't feel the need to call me and let me know FOUR units had been broken into in the hall where my storage was, but they can sure call me and tell me I left my light on and to come turn it off. After filing a police report, I got to start on trying to file a claim for insurance. The company is called Sedgwick, and good luck if you ever have to use them. They want a receipt for literally everything. Each CD in a binder of 500. Everything. And then they won't give you anything near what it's worth. And those priceless photos and memories? Gone. So after the the theft, the management's negligence, and the insurance's crookedness, I was robbed three times. Could this have been avoided? Absolutely. I regret trusting my property to be safe at this facility. The amount of homeless people coming in and out of there is scary. I wish I could post the police report on my stuff being robbed. People "getting high" in units, and "lookin through other units for stuff to take". I'd reconsider renting here. read more

Recently got a unit, hours for self storage are mon-sun 6a-9p. Went there today (wed) at 5:50p and gate was broken so they closed the gate and no one was allowed to their storage after 6p. No email was sent out, and closed 10 mins earlier than what signs said. Another gentleman was quite upset, because he said this has happened multiple times! Cheap prices but unprofessionally ran. read more

Awful service. They spend the whole time trying to sell you additional boxes and tape. Even had the guy hand me a roll of tape and insist I buy it. Not even within 24 hours our unit was broken into along with several others and management failed to handle with professionalism. Police claim this spot gets hit often. Don't waste your time here, find somewhere else to store your items. read more

Convenient location, units are clean & drive is clean but complex is very dark at night - lots of burnt out lights especially in the middle & far back rows. As of 12/16 the street sign is not lite up so if you go at night you could miss the entrance turn. read more

This place totally sucks. I moved my stuff there upon the recommendation of a friend. There are people living in campers on the premises as well as homeless people coming and going. Unfortunately I got caught moving stuff and sorting items out and didn't realize the time was after 9:45pm. so I was trapped in the complex and slept on a flattened box in my unit until the gates started working again the next morning. A couple of days later there was a blue lock on my unit with no explanation. They told my friend that I was staying in the unit which is a total lie - I live in downtown Seattle. I am informed by my friend that their lock is still on the unit even though they still continue to bill my credit card for $111.00 a month but I cannot get into the unit. My only recourse is to take them to small claims court for the monthly charges without access to my unit. read more

Never, ever rent here. It's broken into constantly. A few years ago mine was broken into and I had identify theft as a result. Didn't even get a call until days later. Police said video cameras are so poor they could not use to help the investigation. The smaller units are literally separated by chicken wire and the unit doors are plywood. The roof leaks and mildew and mold grow inside and get on your items. I moved everything out to a locally owned place and for the same monthly price I got concrete and metal units, indoors. climate controlled with elevators and carts. security cameras everywhere and well lit. Public Storage invests nothing into their properties. Too bad they have a monopoly in the area. The rent goes up about every 16 months. read more

I was rented a unit with the manager knowing it was prone to flooding. I was in a hurry to store my belongings and missed the clues that were in front of me. First was the mold on all the walls about a foot up the walls from the floor. Second, the manager insisting I buy renters insurance, and last, the insistence I buy a moisture absorbent. Less than a month later I found 8" of water flooded my unit and three others. I'll find out if the insurance is going to pay for the replaceable items, but the irreplaceable I blame Public Storage and Lori, the manager for lying and deception in renting units that commonly flood. I will never use Public Storage because of this and I hope they all burn in hell. read more

I have rented at two different Public Storage facilities North of Seattle and I would like to commend the people who work here on their customer service skills and professionalism. Previously, 2 years ago I was helped by Heather at 12020 hwy 99, and most recently by Kelly at 196th in Lynnwood.I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences with Public Storage. The facility at 196th in Lynnwood is very clean and well maintained with nice large drive up storage units. I feel my stuff is safe and secure in this location. The first thing I looked for when I went in was for signs that people were living in their storage units with their cars parked out side. I did not see any signs of this behavior happening here at this time. But I did see a lot of that at the Airport Road location. I also checked to make sure that my unit was not in a flood location or signs of flooding. Storage is expensive so if you need to store stuff at least make sure it is a storage unit and facility you feel good about that have cameras, motion detectors and fencing all the way around. Reserving on-line is also very easy to find a location and the right size unit that suits your needs. If you do not like it after viewing it you are not obligated to rent it. Before I rented my unit the motion light was broken inside my unit, not just a bulb, but broken , Kelly placed a work order to have it replaced and it was fixed before I moved in. Storage unit is infested with rats. When we first noticed the rat feces on our stuff we alerted management and nothing was done. They told us others had reported the rat problem as well and that they thought it was because of the garbage bins at a neighboring business. A month went by and the problem kept getting worse. Rats have chewed through the plastic coverings to our mattresses, and peed and pooped on everything we own, and ruined almost all of our things stored at public storage. We contacted the insurance company and they only cover up to $250 of damage from rodents. We have repeatedly contacted public storage to solve the problem and they finally gave us rat poison to put in our unit. They refuse to take any responsibility of the problem stating "you rent at your own risk". I wish we had rented a storage unit somewhere else. Now our couches, mattresses, baby stuff, and everything we own is COVERED in rat pee and poop. The whole unit stinks when you walk in. DO NOT RENT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE!!!!!! read more
