This place is just bad. Elevators are always broken. When they work they lock up trapping your items. Lured me in with $87 per month then the rates increased to $232. Leaky ceiling and staff was very unhelpful during my moveout weak. I had to move alot of my unit from upper level without elevator including 70,60,55, and 50 pound dumbbells because both were broken. Never again! So happy to be out!! My best advice. SERIOUSLY consider throwing everything away before wasting thousands to use storage. read more

Very happy,Chris helped me out with all/any info. He did a great job showing and explaining how everything works! The entire facility is very clean and quiet!! Everything works great!! Had a issue were I accidentally put my lock on the wrong unit(the one by mine), and by the next morning, Jessica gave me a call and lmk that I had no lock on my unit, she locked it up for me until I got there and I switched the lock onto my locker. Jessica was also sooooo nice and extremely helpful!!! I'm very very happy with this public storage location!!!! I would recommend 100%. A very secure location, it can be difficult to just leave if you happen to be unloading and it gets to be after hours. It would be nice to have a prosses to let them know we are slow at unloading and are still there, easing our exit and frustration. So far so good. Only had the storage unit a few days and already gotten a few emails and texts about completing surveys. Very easy to get storage unit, all online, gate code texted to me. Never had to go to counter and talk to anyone. The policies when signing up are confusing especially when signing up in middle of month. Also you NEED insurance when renting which isn't stated until final step of process. Still confused about that. All in all, the couple of days ive had the unit have been okay but it's difficult to give a review when I haven't had a full month and experienced prorating, insurance and billing. read more

Maybe you could spend some time ensure that there are carts regularly available for your tenants. Typically just two carts available which is painful when your the odd one out. Elevator out of service. There is some basic services you could work on to make this place a 5-star. read more

Avoid Public Storage if at all possible! After going to site 5 times and never finding an employee, another customer helped me use their site to get s rental. EXTREMELY poor parking and only 1 of 2 exits working - stuck behind another customer for 15 minutes to get out. read more

Had items stolen. Became a police felony and were able to locate and receive one item of 21 back. The Company insurance company stalled for over 10 months even though provided all required documents received 10% of value. the employees at time of theft notification were lackadaisical and evasive about providing entry information or documentation To account holder. WARNING: Do not be late............Do not be late on you dues. Was 7 days late got a $20.00 late fee. The rate of my unit is $8.00. Complete and utter joke!!!! Why would anyone want to upgrade or stay with these guys. Great unit, terrible access in and out whoever designed that portion should be fired!!! We were going to upgrade to a bigger locker but will be going somewhere else next month. read more

While this facility is fine for storage, they have jacked up the rates 157% in less than ONE YEAR! These places will never do a contract, and once you have gone through the inconvenience of moving all of your storage in, they jack up your rates! Inflation over the last year was ~7.5%, what is the excuse to jack up rates by 157%?!? read more

This Public Storage place is such a dump (old building). Elevator is broken with the cart stuck inside so now I have to carry individual items up the stairs, and this is NOT the first time. I can't believe I pay almost $80 a month for the smallest unit and a non-functional elevator. Then to top it off, the garage door was stuck open, but not enough to get through so I had to back out going the wrong way. What a flipping joke!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! read more

Public Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Maple Grove, Minnesota

Overall this storage is good. I've got a very good deal and the building is nice but their security systems just freak me out every time I'm visiting my storage unit! Two things are especially bad - 1) Sometimes I try to park my truck closer to the exit gate it triggers the alarm for some reason. Another complaint is the way how they secure platform carts - they just lock them together so no one can use them after office work hours. read more

Visited 3 public storages and I have to say...different experiences in all three locations. One on 73rd Ave bad customer care. The lady didn't even care to show me the unit. The one on Lakeland, awesome guy...Paul took me to all units and showed me around. One on Zachary, they told me no drive up access units but when I looked online they had them and I ended up reserving here as the place is newer and has better rates and 1st month for a $1. But they did not even clean my unit. But overall love the storage and app access to open the gates. read more

This was the worst experience with a storage unit ever. The elevators rarely worked and when we emptied the unit and taking several large items to the elevator, couldn't open the doors into the elevator. Fortunately the one at the other end of the building was operational so we drug everything to the other end. Of course, there's no way to enter the office and no one to answer the phone. If you are going to rent from here during the winter make sure to bring a shovel. It has been 2 days since the last snow fall of several inches of snow and the lot has not been plowed at all and they don't clear in front of the garage doors. With as much as we pay for the unit (they just raised prices another $20) I expect for at least the lot to be clear. read more

I've been a renter here for over 15 years. I have multiple units for both business and personal needs. This place used to be great. I had no issues. However in the last six months (since November 2016), the place has fallen into disrepair and neglect. First, there is a large sliding bay door on the North side of the building. This door is one of two access doors to the climate-controlled lower level (drive-through). This door has been out of order since November 2016. In fact, the door was stuck OPEN until late December. (Yeah, a climate-controlled building with a huge door stuck OPEN during the cold Winter months.) It was finally closed, but has been inoperable ever since. (It is late March 2017 as I write this review.) Secondly, there is garbage all over the place. We all know people are inconsiderate and leave crap behind when moving out. But, the property managers there have always cleaned up after rude people. Again, during the last six months, garbage is everywhere. There is garbage in the lift, there are boxes in the hallway, there is a car wheel in the grass, there are broken locks on the floor, etc. (Yes, broken locks from a bolt cutter - makes you feel like your stuff is really secure, right?) Thirdly, there are rusty access doors with holes so large a small animal could crawl through and take up residence there. (No, I haven't seen any animals inside yet, but sure as there is snow in Minnesota, there are mice coming in for warmth!) When Jerry was the property manager there, things were taken care of; but I haven't seen Jerry there in many months. I think he's gone - which is too bad. Jerry was great. He was always helpful when I needed him and offered a wave when I drove in. If I didn't have so much stuff stored there, I'd move out. The rent goes up each year and the quality continues to go down. I can no longer recommend this place to anyone. read more

They are renovating this location right now, so it looks different and slightly barren, but it's a positive change. I was worried at first but they are working on streamlining all communications via e-mail (to let you know what's going on even if it doesn't directly affect your unit specifically). Overall nice place, no problems besides needing to fix the elevator door and locating the carts on occasion - which they are responsive about. Good rates and I'm glad to have kept my stuff here for the last year. Thanks! read more

I can't say enough great things about Jerry & Jan. I have been at the Zachary Lane Public Storage for a few years now. Jerry is always right on top of things, giving me friendly reminder calls, helping with problems, etc., and Jan has always been a kind & helpful voice over the phone. I have been with other storage unit facilities in the past with less than stellar experiences (even a different location of public storage in the past) but I wouldn't go to another storage facility other than this Maple Grove location. This is the place to be for kindness, cleanliness, safety, and integrity. read more
