Don't ever go on Saturday. have been there the past two Saturday's they only have one person working and they keep you waiting when your the only person in the office. The office is so hot you can barely breathe. It also costs more than the advertised $24 for your first month. They don't tell you online that their insurance is mandatory at $15 per month. They also tack on a $20 charge for their lock(no big deal you can bring your own) if aren't aware of this information your fee goes from $24 to $86. Public Storage needs to be more transparent with their fees, it's the reason you can't pay online for your first month. read more

My comments pertain to Dee and selecting a unit. I originally selected a unit that was too small. After talking to Dee and finding out what options were available, she switched me to a different unit and helped with the transfer. I haven't moved my items in yet-that will happen soon. This place is horrible. Once they have your stuff they will raise your rate. In a 2 yr span my rent has gone from $89 to $483. They won't work with you. They want to auction your unit after 30 day delinquency. Go somewhere else. read more

We've had a unit here for only 4 months. I got a call saying our unit was broken into. Not only did the owner lack any sympathy, she was also completely unhelpful. We had 100's of dollars of items stolen, along with irreplaceable sentimental items. My mom has passed and many of her items were stored in there. This month had just begun and she wouldn't even refund us for the month we already paid. Needless to say we got the couple items they hadn't stolen and left. You have to punch in your code to get in and I'm assuming everything is time stamped so I'm not sure how she "couldn't find anything suspicious" or have any evidence as to who it may be. While we grabbed the rest of our stuff I noticed someone had wrapped a towel on the bar at the door so it couldn't be shut properly. So I feel bad for whoever still has things in there as there most definitely will be another break in. read more

This is the most horable experience i have ever had storing my things....dirty no security...break ins doors never lock to keep people from entering the units. Raising rent with no notice. My things would be better treated at the city dump. read more

Do not trust this location to protect your valuables! We received a phone call stating that there was an "attempted break in" on our unit, but not to worry. They stated the thieves were unsuccessful and no need to come by, they bolted the door shut and said they'd have a new door in the next week. Fast forward to September and to my surprise my unit door was still bolted shut and the handle/lock was completely ripped off. I called to inquire, and after 10+ calls and 48 hours later I received a call stating that they hold zero responsibility for what happened and that my unit could only be unbolted the following week monday-friday. My husband took a day off work to account for this and when the unit was unbolted boxes fell, I discovered broken furniture and missing items. They told me that I would be refunded for the month of September and after multiple calls to the district manager, Corey, I still have not heard back or received this small refund. They told me my only option is to file a police report and go through insurance. The manager at this location also stated that she started after the break in and was told my unit was a "utility unit" on site so she never gave it a second thought. read more

What makes me frustrated is that within four months of having my unit, they increase the price of it by over 25%! Now, instead of paying 65$, I now have to pay $85. It just seems like a bait and switch. I understand that this is in their policy. However, this is not a good way of doing business. I will be moving out of my unit soon! read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. They locked my unit with no warning after never missing a payment or even paying late , it took over a week to get ahold of someone because their office has no office hours. Turned out the decided My lock was "damaged" (it was not) and without telling me CUT THE LOCK I PAID FOR AND INSTALLED THEIR OWN LEAVING ME NO ACCESS TO MY ITEMS!!! After paying over 100$ a month on time every month for them to take such liberty over my belongings is unacceptable. read more

Do NOT rent a storage unit at Public Storage unless you want to be extorted for more money on a regular basis without any warning. We originally rented a unit that was "on sale," which I was assured by the person on the phone would remain the rate for the duration of our rental. The employee in the store glossed over the small print of the contract that clearly states they can raise your rates at any time, so we were astonished when not even 4 months later they raised our rates almost 20%. I just received the latest receipt on my autopay and noticed my next bill was for $45 more than what I'm currently paying! No letter, email or any kind of warning - they just hike my rate up again. Needless to say, we are giving notice and getting our stuff out of there, but I really feel for those who don't have the money to do this. From what I've seen, most storage rental places are like this, but my advice is to find one that has a contract or lease for a set price for a set period of time. Don't fall for the cheap deal because it will only last a few months and then you are moved in and have the added expense of renting a truck, etc. to get out and go somewhere else. read more

Everything in my unit is covered in rat urine and feces. They have chewed through many of my boxes and items. The staff has been apathetic. Rodents spread disease and this is absolutely NOT okay. If I knew then what I know now, I would not choose this storage facility. read more

We've been renters at this location for about 16 months. Our unit was easy to move in to and we will be vacating by the end of this weekend. My only complaint is that the light in the hallway above our unit has never worked in the almost year we have had it. We've mentioned it a couple of times but never have had the light to be able to see in our unit as well as others. The staff has always been friendly and it is a good storage place for all those extra things you do not have room for in your garage. read more

Mice/Rat infested!!! We got one of the largest units they have and moved most of our belongings into it for a couple of months while we put our house on the market. When we went back to start moving our stuff out, there is rodent dropping on literally everything! All over our couch, our furniture, all of our boxes and mattresses, everywhere possible. We are afraid to bring our stuff home. All we asked them for was to take $25 off of our $220 monthly bill one time to pay for taking the destroyed furniture to the dump. They couldn't/wouldn't even return my calls. All they did was hand me a brochure saying I had to file claim with their insurance. I do NOT recommend storing anything you care about here! read more

Diane the manager was less than helpful and completely unable to make any type of decision without first calling a higher-up. What pray tell is the purpose of her even being here? I was the VICTIM oF a bait and switch. Am looking for others who were also, for a possible class action suit. Reserved my unit online with the ad for $1 pays for first month. Pictures at all public storage facilities have the same signs: one dollar moves you in. It does NOT say only for specific units. So, when I received my second months statement it had the full amount, which I had thought I had already paid the previous month. ( along with all the other add ons). I called customer service and they referred me to the regional manager who gave me a couple of different names. He informed me that "my" unit was NOT eligible to receive the dollar move in as advertised. WHAT??? It's the only reason I stored with them. Ahh, public storage..! If ever there were a sign of American gross overconsumption, the thriving storage market, spearheaded by Public Storage, would definitely be a top contender! Certainly, for those of us with nomadic inclinations and a long history of habitual compulsive purchasing, Public Storage is a necessary evil. However, this one was run by a woman so delightful and welcoming that I was inspired to write them a stellar review- something with which I'm less than acclimated, but here goes: I called public storage, thinking I'd get the one on Sandy, but the number was actually a headquarters line and a very helpful girl located a unit that would work for me based on the size of my current house, as well as a discount for 1/2 off the first month, and just barely made it through helping me without getting asked out. She was, after all, in headquartersland anyway, and the Max doesn't have a stop in headquartersland. Fast forward two hours and I'm at the unit being escorted around the grounds for the tour, by none other than Linda, my heart :-) She let me know that there's a cop shop in spitting distance, and they seem to provide ample security since there hasn't been a break in as long as she's worked there. It's a good thing they're there because aside from their presence, security ain't a whole lot in the way of existing. There's an electric gate which stands guard and elicits an access code from all things coming and going, some surveillance cams monitoring, and your lock. That to my eye was about the extent of security. Oh and another thing, so all these unit are outside. There no climate control and no electricity inside (thanks, meth cooks), and the result of such a setup is that without properly planning ahead, moisture will build up in your unit and your stuff is gonna get wet. But thank the gods for Linda because she will give you the heads up on how to secure yo unit against unwanted water damage and it's demon offspring, mildew and mold. Ok that's enough typing for me. With so many people moving to Portland there are not many storage spaces available. I contacted this location and the women over the phone, Linda was very helpful. She also called me to remind me to come in to sign since they could only hold space for me for limited period of time. When I arrived to sign I realized my space was too small for what was arriving from New Orleans in a few days. Linda researched for me and found a bigger space would be available in 2 days so we arranged to lock in the hold for the larger space since there are very few this size. When we met movers to load in all went smooth and when we met local movers to ship to our house one month later all went smooth again. Linda was very helpful as was her co worker, Deanna who showed me the space. It's a little outside of Portland but worth the drive! read more

I occupy an indoor heated unit and was very happy with it in the beginning. However, when i started to move out i found some things had mildew on them. Needless to say, i was quite upset as some of the items were sentimental and irreplaceable. Which brings me to the next point. I started out at $107 and am now up to $210. For the amount they rip u off for monthly, i would certainly hope to not find my things ruined. And the rate just keeps going up and up. There is no cap on what they can charge u. So, they r ok for a short stay but I would not plan on anything long term and would not keep anything of value in there. They have a pretty clean, secure site and if Linda is there u will definately receive excellent customer service! She is amazing So, the biggest complaint with public storage is, they are a complete rip off if u stay longer than a year. However, Linda made my stay there a little more bearable. read more
