As a ER doctor relocating from the Sunshine State to the land of sweet tea, I had the distinct displeasure of encountering a Public Storage representative with the charm of a sunburned alligator. This snide know-it-all couldn't even keep his sarcasm in check over a simple zip code faux pas. He had the audacity to scrutinize my immaculate Jaguar's condition, as if a minor detail like a removed battery would make it unworthy of his holy storage kingdom. After his unsolicited lecture on my car's functionality, he had the gall to imply that my inability to pay would somehow tarnish their pristine image. As for my furniture, his ludicrous quote was as welcoming as a brick wall. Needless to say, I promptly retreated to a more courteous establishment, where my possessions & I weren't subjected to the kind of disdain usually reserved for a patient with a paperclip lodged in their nose. I easily purchased a storage unit online, downloaded the app, and started storing my items. I opened the gate with the app on my phone and the lock was waiting for me inside the unit. When moving is stressful, it's nice for something to go smoothly. I'll use Public Storage again! read more

I was scheduled to move from my apartment 1/11/22 my apartment contacted me on 1/08/22 that my unit would not be ready I had to get a unit unexpectedly I was able to rent it after hours and they also sent me the access code. Public Storage has forever lost our business as a result of the experience and the handling of our complaint. You may want to avoid the one located on Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville, NC. The employee there is quite interesting to say the least. The time was a little after 7:00 pm November 20th when we attempted our initial entry to our unit. After 10 minutes a vehicle pulled up behind us. My husband immediately approached the car to apologize and inform the driver that we needed to back up as we were not able to gain access. She remarked with an unpleasant tone " well are you entering the right number"? She looked upset. We found it strange given she had just arrived. We moved out of the way believing she was trying to gain access to her storage unit. She immediately pulled into a parking space, now the second parked vehicle onsite-- proceeds out of her vehicle with another young woman holding food and enters the private door reserved for employees. We now realized this was an employee. We also understood that she was not obligated to assist us beyond office hours. Although she was not obligated; the encounter was not a pleasant one. The evening of November 20th was the night we required entry into our unit so we could fulfill our need to return the U-Haul truck for the next day by 10 am. The issue we faced was the need to now utilize our truck as storage given the lack of access to afterhours assistance. We attempted to call a number posted on the door and on the website the first night, to no avail. Our only option was to return in the morning of November 21st during Public Storage's office hours. The hours posted online for Sundays is 9:30am to 5:00pm. We arrived shortly after 10:00 am. The doors were locked. The same woman who entered the private door the night before was seen looking on as I attempted to open the front office door while my husband called the office number. She then quickly got into her vehicle and drove off, leaving the premises. We were forced to go elsewhere and pay more. This was very surprising! We manage to capture the entry into the back door and driving away on camera and video. The insulting act of all is that we were told the administration fee was not refundable. After making a formal complaint with threats to go to the media with our proof, we received a refund with no correspondence to our formal complaint. This woman was well known when we described her on the phone to another Public Storage location. Who is she and why has she been permitted to get away with this? Still waiting on the district manager to reach out to us. Quite the unexpected experience at Public Storage of Morrisville, NC. Do not EVER rent from this Public Storage. Wish I could give them zero stars. We moved in Jan.1 and by Jan 8 were having problems with the door to our unit. It is a large unit and the door is broken, so can't be opened by me alone, and it slams shut. That is extremely dangerous to the customer. It has not been fixed as of today, March 7. They have continually made excuses as to why the vendor hasn't fixed it. Never once have they offered any compensation to us. My bill is paid. The district manager is rude and tries to intimidate you by talking over you and interrupting you, as if what you are trying to explain is not important. He takes zero responsibility because "he can't control his vendors". Please, look somewhere else. We now have to pay a moving company to move our stuff because I can't imagine giving these people another dime. read more

Let me say right up front that the people that work at this Morrisville facility have been really nice and helpful; no complaints there. The property is kept clean and is well lit. My problem is with corporate; In 18 months my rent went up $40.00 a month. Eighteen months ago, I started out paying $212. a month; that included $11.00 for insurance. Now I pay $253.00 a month, including insurance. It went up $20, awhile back and as of this month (July) it went up another $20.00. If this pattern keeps up, I will be paying almost $300. this time next year. In the meantime, they have had specials where you could get big units at greatly discounted rates. Of course this is for new business only. I suppose the big increases on those who are already customers help offset the costs of those good rates offered to new customers. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about it. My unit is full of furniture from a 3 bedroom house, including appliances. If you need short term storage, this should not be a problem, but if you think you might need to store your stuff for awhile, just beware of what you might end up paying. read more

I reserved a 5' x 10' unit online. Within 5 minutes I received a call asking me what time I would be arriving. This was to make sure that the person working was not on their lunch break when I arrived. When I showed up Dee was there to greet me and walk me through the process. She was extremely friendly. After the paperwork was complete, Dee walked with me outside to show me how the gate worked and then showed me to my unit. read more

Kendal assisted me today. I had reserved a space over the phone and told her I would be coming on my lunch hour to do the paperwork. She had things all ready for me so I could get back to work within my time frame. She was so sweet and helpful. I have rented from this location in the past and not always come out of the office feeling like I was welcome there. She went thru all the measures and even walked out with me to make sure my code worked so that I could enter and exit the property with no problem. We needed a storage room to keep a lot of our stuff while we were waiting for our house to be built. I found a great deal at this Public Storage for a 10X25 unit. The only issue was that I was trying to set this up long distance, and in order to get the good rate I had to be there in person (still not sure what this was about). Luckily a friend who was local was able to go over and finish setting it up for me, but she had to use her name on it, and I never was able to get that changed - I changed the address and billing credit card, but not the name. The room was clean and pretty easy for my very large moving truck to access (luckily the driver was able to back up really well). Everything was safe and clean for 5 months. We had another mover come and get all the stuff to take to our house and that went very smoothly as well. The move out was incredibly quick and easy. A bummer that they made me get insurance and that I had to buy a lock, but the monthly rate ($112/month) made up for all of that! read more

So I didnt actually use this exact location, I went to the one in Morrisville but I wanted to give you all a heads up. If you are planning on only renting storage for a month this is a great deal. You pay $1 no matter what size you need for the 1st month, a $20 one time admin fee, and you're not obligated to rent the storage for any amount of time except that month. There are a couple of catches I must warn you of. You have to get insurance, the least expensive one was $8 a month ($2000 coverage) which was what I got. The 2nd one is you have to have a lock ready at the time you rent, if you don't then you must buy one of their locks which are overpriced. So bring your own.(I happened to have one in my car) Its a little shady bc I spoke to a person just to double check the legitimacy of the offer before coming in person and they didn't tell me abt the insurance requirement or the policy to have a lock at time of the agreement. They tell you piece by piece as you sign and initial each little agreement. I still recommend it though bc its a great deal still if you come prepared. I got a 10 by 15 storage unit which I will only keep for a month for abt $30 when its really abt $160+ and insurance cost a month to rent that size storage. Also you must provide a 2 day notice before vacating the unit. Come prepared and it'll be worth it. read more

Not the newest of locations, but works fine for storage. Read about the $1 no matter what size deal and searched to find one unit available. Apex customer rep, Jason?, was super helpful to check open spots and direct me to Morrisville location, which was closer for me anyways. Dee at Morrisville location was great at explaining the process and getting us set up that day. Turns out we ended up not using the rented unit a whole lot due to change of plans. Great deal for the 10 x 20 unit. Would remind people using Morrisville location to be aware of the traffic pattern since Chapel Hill can get backed up during work hours. Overall, smooth transaction, paid about $20 in admin fees (with lowest insurance and PS lock from previous times so no charge there), and found the Morrisville location helpful for me. If you are looking for a deal, PS has it! read more

Renting, moving in and moving out was easy. We hit a bit of a speed bump when we decided to move me into a different unit at the last minute (not Public Storage's fault, they were being flexible with me), but we worked together to get it sorted out without too much trouble. I had mold/mildew creeping up everything after three months storage (Jan-Feb-Mar 2016), despite precautions, so I would definitely recommend one or more desiccants. read more
