This place is just plain great. I was on the road and needed a storage unit miles from my current location. I called their storage and an employee advised me to stop at one of their closer facilities, and fill out the proper paperwork. I'm guessing the completed paperwork was faxed over to the location that I would arrive to within hours. I thought it was very clever of them and I appreciate the gesture. I was able to 100% obtain a storage unit without worries. Since I knew I would arrive late at night, I called the manager and he gave me 24 hour access to the unit. This is exemplary customer service. They exceeded meeting my needs and are incredibly accommodating. Everything went smoothly and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a storage facility. They really understand the full meaning of "customer service" and everyone should take note and provide the same to their customers. Management was extremely helpful. Honestly, if they rented out places to live - I would probably stay there my whole life just because of the excellent management team. Yes- I really said that. Best wishes to them. I am extremely disappointed with Extra space Storage on hwy 55, Cary, NC. I have paid early since I have been a customer since January 2016 and before my year is up my storage rental went up. When I called and inquired I was told from time to time they assess and increase rates before the year is up I could potentially see a 2nd increase. Had I have known I would have gone elsewhere. The staff has been very nice, however this type of service is extremely sneaky. I will not reccomend this company to anyone. read more

Extra Space storage on NC-55 Cary has been a great place to store our household items as needed. They are great flexible space for our needs. The facility is always clean, secure and very convenient. I appreciate that there is always a cart available to move items from my car to the unit. I've been to other places and that was not always the case. The staff is also always very friendly and appreciative of my business. That means a lot given we could go anywhere. read more

Great place just what I expected in a storage facility. 6AM to 10PM access via a secure gate. Clean units and fairly new. On some units they require that you buy a special lock for $15 During the recent ice storm they did not do the best job clearing the ice so access was challenging at best, esp having to make a right turn as soon as you entered on a slope covered in solid ice. They also try to sell you insurance but fail to mention that your standard homeowners will generally cover the contents Overall very pleased. read more

We moved to the Cary, NC area and needed storage. Extra Space had the highest rating and the best price so I decided to go with them. About 5 minutes after making my reservation, I received a confirmation call out of the blue. The person on the other line was very nice and just wanted to make sure everything went well. I was pleased. When we actually made the move, we had some issues with traffic and it was taking longer than we wanted to arrive. We knew that they closed at a certain time (our arrival time would be past this) and needed to acquire our unit somehow. So I called the facility in Cary and spoke to the staff. They understood the situation and said that there was a closer facility in Greensboro and we could do a remote lease. They gave me their number. I called and spoke to Kayleigh(sp) and she was extremely helpful and even willing to stay late! Once I arrived (exactly at closing time), she and the other staff were amazing, very helpful and kind. They were not upset about staying late (about 40 minutes) and that made me feel good. They even offered water since they knew we were on a long trip! The remote lease and everything went through, and she made sure each locations were synced up with what was going on. As such, we got our unit and everything went smoothly. If Extra Space did not care about their customer or the quality of service, this would not have happened and our move would have been a complete disaster. I highly recommend Extra Space for your storage needs as they REALLY DO CARE about providing top notch service. In addition, I had some questions about my bill which I relayed to Alan at the Cary location, he was very helpful and polite. Overall, I am very pleased and look forward to continuing being a customer of Extra Space. read more

Alan and Terry were extremely helpful and sensitive to our needs as we moved our possessions from Charlotte to Cary (having moved from Australia to Charlotte a few months earlier). We had no idea if we needed 2 units or three given we had relocated with a 6 bedroom house worth of items. Alan signed us up for 2 and was willing to have a third on standby if needed which was most reassuring. Fortunately the 3rd was not needed as the 10x20s had more capacity than the average given the heights of each. In fact we have some space left over allowing us to sort out items at the time of storage into "things that may get used sooner rather than later" and "longer term stored" units. I would not hesitate to recommend Extra Space Storage in Cary for the professional, courteous and friendly experience in dealing with these folks. Ali read more

Nice folks but rent went up twice to $198.00 for a 10x20 unit in 8 months, Then they say they will prorate your last month rent. They fail to mention that you must set up in advance of payment because they do not issue credit / refunds. Ridiculous read more
