When I spoke to the manager (Joe, I believe) and told him how Public Storage tripled my monthly payment in a year, he reassured me that would not be the case here and he informed me that the most he has seen an annual increase is no more than 10%. February 2026 the rent increased to $103.ish, 71.7%. Needless to say, I contacted the facility and Joe, the manager I initially spoke with and established an account with was not there and a new female manager was in place. I explained the situation to her, she said she would go to corporate...nothing happened. April 2026, I received another notice of rent increase "due to increased expenses".....Now, the new rent is $183.31. I have no words. My rent went from July 2025 $68.75-April 2026 $103-June 2026 $183.31 IN LESS THAN ONE (1) YEAR. Serious concerns about management conduct and business practices. Pricing and terms presented at move-in were not honored, and key details were misrepresented. Subsequent rate increases were significant and inconsistent with what was communicated upfront. Attempts to resolve the issue have not resulted in a fair outcome. Proceed with caution. Get all terms in writing and verify pricing policies before committing. This reflects my personal experience.

Well, I could not have been more wrong! From my first phone call to packing boxes into our unit, Cube Smart (Affordable Self Storage) on Bouton has been great. I swung by to check the place out beforehand and the staff was totally on top of things. I even got a guided tour in their groovy little utility vehicle! The office is immaculate and modern, the grounds are well-maintained and the buildings are well-lit and spotless. The security seems top-notch as well. Easy access to units - getting our stuff in and out of our second floor unit was pretty effortless between the elevator and available dollies. The pricing, compared to other self-storage properties, is on the low end of the spectrum - special deals and rates to boot. But worth every penny for sure! The facility itself is fine. My two big issues are…read more 1) the Bait and Switch drove my introductory price to more than double after one year. Introductory rate was about $150 for the 10x10. One year later it was over $300 and I first downsized and then had to get out of there. Seond, when I asked the rep how much my next increase would be, she said she didn't know, maybe $10 per month, maybe $20 per month, maybe $40 per month. Increases are supposed to come every 6 months, but they raised mine after 5 months. Finally, the people here( particularly the person from "corporate" that was present in the facility and who I had to deal with, but others as well, are so incredibly rude and downright nasty, on that basis alone I would never use this facility. I have never encountered worse customer service. I ultimately moved out of that facility and my moving company also mentioned to me that the people in this location and their whole way of doing business is awful. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe is the GM of the site and was always available for anything we needed. I highly recommend using this storage facility. The facility was exactly what we needed! We were impressed by the cleanliness and ease of getting in and out with our own access codes as well as being able to have our own lock on the unit itself. Would highly recommend. Staff was friendly and helpful on each occasion we needed their assistance. The let us rent a truck, and were there every step of the way with a difficult move.

After the takeover, everything changed. My 8x18 unit rent increased from $436 to $915.76 through repeated incremental hikes, while services and amenities were steadily removed. Temperature control was reduced, the bathroom was closed, on-site staff eliminated, cleaning became rare, and the gate was broken for months. In November 2025, I was told my autopay card was "denied." My bank confirmed no charge attempt was made. CubeSmart refused to retry the card, threatened lockout and auction, added penalties, and charged a $36 admin fee--even though the issue was simply an expired card. They also claimed to notify me via an old email address they refused to update. After 20+ years as a loyal customer, I was treated with indifference and rudeness. CubeSmart prioritizes profit over customers and relies on people not closely monitoring their accounts. I would not recommend this company.
