I got a couple of nasty phone calls that I needed to pay my bill, of course, when I tried calling them back, no one answered. There are still better storage spaces in Oxnard that are safer and friendlier, and care about their customers. Go there first. As to Phil (facility manager's assertions in his rebuttal): Phil - there was little attempt to rectify the situation. I was the one that asked for the discounted space...which I would not have needed had the site been more secured. It's a pain having to load and unload an RV with all valuables when we traveled (and we did quite often). You're much more apologetic now in your rebuttal because it's a public forum - which is completely contrary to how you were when I came to you and mentioned that we had been repeatedly broken into. Unfortunately, until your facility can protect all the tenants from the constant, ongoing intrusions and theft going on at your facility, your facility will still be sub-standard on a street where numerous other (and safer) facilities are located.

From the beginning, John was helpful, transparent, and thorough. He advised us that the parking space would be a tight fit and even sent photos so we could evaluate it before arriving. When we towed the trailer to the facility, we discovered that maneuvering into the space was more difficult than we had anticipated. A neighboring tenant's covered vehicle setup, including cemented poles, considerably narrows the approach for a longer travel trailer like ours. It took us three or four careful attempts to position the trailer without risking damage to anyone else's property or the storage garages in front of the space. Throughout the situation, John was patient, understanding, and reassuring. He made it clear that he would help us find a solution if the trailer ultimately could not fit, which gave us much-needed peace of mind. John had been completely forthcoming about the space from the start, yet he still apologized for the additional obstruction and offered us a small discount for the inconvenience. That was truly above and beyond, and we couldn't have been more grateful. Storage situations do not always go exactly as planned, but excellent service makes all the difference. John handled everything with honesty, professionalism, and genuine care, and we greatly appreciated his help.

It began with the deal Public Storage offers on their website to you if you commit online to a unit. They take 15% off your monthly rent for as long as you keep the unit, if you sign up online instead of waiting until you go to the facility. It is so much easier to do it that way, besides all the money you save! After you get there and check the unit out to make sure you like it, all you have to do is initial a few spots, sign and you are all done. Irene in the front office is amazing. She is super sweet, and has every answer to any question you can come up with regarding your new storage unit. She even bypassed some of her scheduled lunch time to make sure I was completely happy, and all bases were covered. She is smart and pleasant. I feel my things will be well guarded with Irene in charge. The rates were much less than I expected, even with the purchase of mandatory insurance, which is a monthly fee of a minimum of $9.00 up to $24.00 a month depending on the value of your possessions. I think mandatory insurance is a fantastic idea, as I have been a victim of theft and vandalism at a previous storage facility in Ventura, only to find out after the crime was committed that I was not covered by any insurance, which I believed was included in the monthly fees. The unit is easily accessible and they are open every single day until 9 pm. I am very happy with my choice!
