If you want the worst customer service, horrible Treatment to be yelled at to be told excuses by the property manager. This is the place for you. I am a customer or was a customer. I paid six months upfront for the rent and doing so I got another small unit a 9 x 10 unit and the following day I requested that small 9 x 10 unit be transferred to a bigger unit well that was done except my other unit I paid six months upfront and it was closed out with not a call not a customer care not a representative to call me contact me or reach out or notify me or question if I was still gonna have my unit there or not instead they closed it out with no hesitation even though i paid six months up front. when I contacted the store, I spoke with property manager Naomi, which is quite honestly the worst phone call I've ever had for Customer Service. The only statement she could give me was she wasn't there and she's a great manager with an arrogant attitude and that's why she's still there that's her response she doesn't know what happened because she wasn't there to oversee her employees that she's supposed to supervise her team. She didn't contact me or reach out or provide any customer care. Instead she provided an arrogant entitled snobby, and a bitchy attitude also provided me a false contact for the district manager, which is really funny because I contacted that number with the extension she provided after i asked 7 times for the number listening to you excuses of why you can do your job. and the number is not in service. Really shows the care the have for customers-so to summit all up you provide faulty. Customer care service you provide attitude and arrogance. I had an awful experience. I am 70 years old and single female. The doors I could barely lift. I had two units. One I had to step on the bottom to slide the lock over. I had to have them send someone out because my shoulders hurt so badly from trying to lift the gate. They start out with a special on line price then they raise it without even waiting a year. I started with one unit at 172. The other unit at 320.00. within four months I was charged a new rate and by the end of two years it cost me over 900.00 for two units. I was so upset. The district manager would not lower it. The price over doubled. Warning be prepared. My unit also got wet inside from it being sprayed to be cleaned. It took me four months for the insurance to go in effect and I had to do all the clean up. The worst part was they did not tell me about the filthy dirt that you cannot keep out even though I used blankets and tarps and coverings. I had to buy several plastic containers to protect my things. When I moved on the 1st of February I had to wash down everything before I could load it. Layers and layers of dirt. I am still finding dirt in my new place because I just could not get it all. I spent more time cleaning then unpacking. I would never ever use them again. If I would of known about the dirt for the money. 565.00 for the 10 by30. Unbelievable. And when I let them know I was moving the manager called to lower my monthly bill by 100.00 dollars. Really. How ridiculous. Nobody is ever there to get a hold of. I find dirt in ever nook and cranny. This is on Albrea in Fremont. I was told they go by the market rate. I said it is a storage not a home with no heat or windows or light. poorly managed. Greed is the only word I have left. I would give 0 stars but Dale was a nice person. read more

Before Thanksgiving, we went to get our Christmas stuff, when we got there our key did not work. We noticed that someone had tampered with the lock. When we told the front office, they went verify our finding but they just kept saying we had the wrong key. We only had one set of keys for the lock and the keys are unique, we knew our key that was not problem. They were nonchalant about the situation, like if break ins were common. They don't have any cameras inside so there's literally nothing they could look into, they would only be able to check exterior cameras. Luckily they weren't able to break into our unit. We noticed other unit locks had similar damage though. read more

Do not rent from Public Storage. They have raised our rent twice in under 1 year. They pull you in with a low rate then they jack up the price every few months. Their customer service is also terrible. It is much cheaper to go to other places, learn from us and shop around and do not go here. read more

Raised prices by 36.1% in March 2024 with a 30 day notice and then didn't pro-rate me for the remaining 3 weeks of the month when I moved out. I worked with Mikey and Karen and I was able to move to a different unit for a much better price. It was unfortunate that corporate was not able to help. Recently because of increasing prices, I thought of inquiring so I can switch units. I was attended to by Z. Z was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me get a new unit. He patiently answered my questions about pricing and the available units up until I have set up payments. He was honest and conducted the transaction seamlessly. I was looking for a unit at this location. I should've known better, first this place is a dump, dirty and full of homeless people hanging out in and around the facility. They told me I need to pay the admin fee to hold a unit. then they showed me one: the unit was smaller then advertised and dirty. then when I asked for a different one they charged me again. this time the unit was the size they advertised but now it was more expensive, so it looks like they are running a scam. I asked for my money back on the same day, as I payed and they charged me 63 $ for admin fees nonrefundable even though I didn't use the unit , and on top they charged me twice just because I looked at the unit. what I learned from this experience: do not pay anything, do not even show them the ID until you see the unit. second : these guys are thieves so Im sure they will have other hidden fees down the road or some scam to charge you money for nothing. The sum they scammed me for is 63$ but is the principle that matters... don't rent here. read more

I have rented a unit since 2005 and have never experienced a series of rent increases as in the past several years. Having seen my rent increase over 30% in recent years has forced me to move out. It is unfortunate and the more recent increase of 15% was the motivator. I will be leaving on January 1 unless the increase is retracted. I am a sad customer. read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD! I don't know where to start. I've had my stuff in there for a few years now and well aware of when my rent is due (the 1st), when it becomes late (after the 10th) and so on. The staff starts leaving me harassing calls like they did to me today on 1/4/20. Hello? It's not even the tenth of the month and they are starting in with their cryptic phone calls telling me to call them back. They left me two voicemails within one hour of each other! They will call you nonstop They will email you nonstop They will send you letters nonstop They will text you nonstop They will send up smoke signals nonstop They will rent an airplane and spell it out in the sky to remind you The staff is very bothersome, rude and a bunch of liars. I can't wait to get my stuff out of that place. You have to give them your id if you want to borrow a moving cart. I don't think there are bathrooms anymore for public use. If there are bathrooms they are filthy nasty. Just go pee in the bushes as I'm sure it'll be much cleaner. There are no dumpsters to be seen so people just dump their garbage in the parking lot. They charge a ridiculous amount of money for their units and they consistently raise their prices each year. Stay away from Public Storage owned properties! I never thought I would need public storage service. But due to downsizing we need one. I was really nervous about moving during the pandemic. When I walked in all 3 of the employees were wearing masks. One of them was wiping stuff down, I think his name is Zee. It immediately put me at ease. There are so many questions... and the ladies had no problem answering all of mine. The nice part is they did with a smile and compassion. I wasn't quite sure what size I needed so Kristen showed me several units. Then the other lady Kathy went through the prices with me. I have never had such an excellent storage experience as I have had here. Mikey is hands down one of the absolute BEST reps for a company I have ever met. Not only did he train me how to use the key, operate codes and gates, but also gave candid advice how to help me find the best units for my storage needs. I am so glad I listened because I had a lot more items then I projected. Mikey even checked on me to make sure I was safe and that I was able to get my items in. I witnessed a difficult customer as I was waiting in line and I was amazed at how tactful Mikey was and how he solved the customers problems. ATTENTION! Things To Be Aware Of About This Facility! I recently rented two storage spaces at this Public Storage location. It wasn't until after I had rented the units and began moving things in that I fully realized some of the downsides about the way this property operates. Some examples: 1) Short Access Hours - This facility only allows you access to your unit for 8 1/2 hours on weekdays and only 7 1/2 hours on weekends. That's right.... they're open the least hours on the days people are most likely to be moving, etc. 2) If you require the use of the bathroom or a moving cart, the procedure is to go to the front office and exchange your I.D. for a key to the cart or restroom. The important thing to consider is that if you had a unit in the rear of the building (where the larger spaces are), and since the middle of the building is not accessible unless you have a storage unit there, you are therefore required to: a) walk all the way around the building perimeter through the gates b) exchange the key for your I.D. c) walk all the way through the gates around the building again d) use the restroom e) walk back AGAIN to return the key for your I.D., and f) walk around AGAIN to resume your moving. The entire process can take as long as 15+ minutes.... which eats significantly into the short time they allow you access to your storage unit. 3) Speaking of the large hangar area in the back of the building where the largest units are, there is no truck parking inside the hangar. Even though this is where the units are so large that you'd need a truck to fill them in a reasonable timeframe (especially considering how short their operating hours are) and the door itself is tall and wide clearly meant to accommodate vehicles larger than regular vehicles, you're not allowed to park a truck there. You are expected to instead park along the side of the building and shuttle all your belongings between the storage unit and the truck via a sizeable hallway. And how close you can park to the door outside depends entirely on no one else parking there. In short, the inconvenience of storing belongings there as well as the short operating hours resulted in our recent move taking as long as 4x as long as it would have taken if we had long access hours to get it all done. I missed two days of work because of how much longer my move took. I will not be using this facility again and if I'd read a review like this, I would not have rented the unit in the first place. It did however teach me a very valuable lesson about renting a storage space in the future. Pay special attention to the layout and access hours of the facility as they vary from location to location since they're privately owned. Longer access hours can save you significant time and money! read more

This facility has short access hours, although an inconvenience I did my best to make it work. This is the 3rd time their gates broke and no one was able get in. Eventually, they were able to manually open the gate and left it open all day for any person to walk in. Keep in mind there is a lot of homeless walking around the area. This time, their entire system went down and I was told the manager with a key was a was off. Ridiculous and poor management from local and corporate office to allow this to happen. I'm glad the staff here was able to laugh about this because I found NO humor in this! They told me the system has been down for 2 days so far. read more

I pay 115.00 for my unit and the ones across from me going for 400.00. That much alone is enough to pay someone to just take care of the dumping and debris everywhere. Needed storage ASAP and was able to reserve online the space we needed without any obligation or having to enter in our credit card information. Upon reserving online, 5 minutes later we get a phone call from them asking us to come by, see the space, and see if it fits our needs. Meet with Karla, the manager, who drove me in a golf cart to see our space and take care of paperwork. Karla was genuinely nice and answered all my questions and concerns. Was impressed that they gave me a call when they noticed our lock didn't have a sticker (was never given one in the beginning-mistake on their part.) But, atleast they look out for things like that and I feel comfy knowing that if there's an issue, I'll be notified. If I could give no stars to this facility I would. The employees are completely unknowledgeable. They raise your storage rent every 3 months for no reason. And they make up any bullshit excuse to cut your lock for late payments so every time you return you're buying a new lock. The $1 for first month is really a waste with all the other fees they charge you while you store your belongings with them. To get into the storage when starting an acct. you still have to pay taxes, the lock, and insurance so again the first month isn't $1. My parents hv public storage at another facility and are running into the exact same issues. My advice find another company. Don't be fooled because it's a known name. They DNT HV security of any kind not even cameras. They're always gttn broken into, yet your premium is constantly being raised. read more

When things go right, its easy to give a good review. And when go wrong it's easy to give a bad review. For me what tests if a business is really good is when things go wrong and they step up and actually fix it. For me without going into too much detail... a policy had changed that I did not know about. It was going to cost me money. The on location staff were polite, but were not in a position of authority to solve the issue. What they were thou was empathetic and directed me to the right people that had the power to help. It would have been easy for staff not to care. I can imagine how many issues come up that could burn out the seasoned customer service person and harden them. Not the case here. Is the place perfect?....no but I have rented probably 1/2 a dozen storage units over the years and these folks were definitely at the upper end of both value and service. read more
