Signing up was easy though there were lots of forms to read. I'm glad I got the unit before showing up with my stuff to store. Catrina was friendly and answered our many questions. My unit was not thermo controlled which worried me initially, but when i checked it out in person the temperature was pretty low despite the hot weather outside. Just called the (669) number to book my online reservation for a unit at the Senter Rd location and the service rep was more than helpful to assist me with the rental process. She even stayed on the phone till I was done just in case I needed help.. that's what I call customer service! As soon as I filled out everything.. I got a call from the storage facility telling me to come in so they can show me my rental unit. Was hoping to have a wonderful experience at this storage center but customer service was terrible. We checked out their cart and were asked to provide our driver license for them to hold as we used the cart and were also asked to return within half an hour. To accommodate, we rushed moving our items to meet the half an hour deadline and by the time we returned to the front office, the gal was gone and the sign said to call the courtesy phone for assistance as the staff was out on the grounds. Of course, the phone did not connect to anything and when calling their emergency number, the representative heard our situation and proceeded to route us to a voicemail. With no ability to contact anyone for help, we had to wait outside of the office. This is so unprofessional, knowing there was a customer who checked out a cart and were given a deadline to return, there is no excuse to just disappear from the front office and leave us hanging without our driver license. I understand the staff may need to leave the office to handle other tasks but at least make sure there is a reliable method for customers to get in contact with the staff when needed. We have been stuck outside for at least half an hour just sitting and waiting on the curb as I write this review. On top of that, we found rat droppings in our storage unit. Other people have said this place is clean but the rat shit proves otherwise. Will be looking for another place to store my stuff, you have lost this customer. From start of contract to end of contract A-1 Self Storage was awesome. We used them for just under a year to store our house items as we moved out of the area. I never worried about our items safety while there. Between the locks they use, passcodes to get in and out of the area and even to use the elevator made sure your items couldn't be moved unless it was you doing it. I don't know if this makes sense without a drawing, but my 10x4 unit's door opened to the center of the unit lengthwise, so I could store items on the left and on the right. I love this because everything is reachable. At other storage locations, the door opens from the shorter width, and large items would be stored to the back and not accessible until move out time. I found A-1 because the past self-storage location I used randomly raised the rent on me. I hope that doesn't end up happening here too. This is the cleanest self-storage center I have ever seen. That was a very nice, unexpected perk. They have the friendliest and most professional staff! When I signed up for my first month, there weren't additional hidden fees added on - just the basic one time admin fee and the insurance. There's plenty of parking and cold water in the office (helpful after several hours of moving). The price & location was unbeatable for me and booking was extremely easy. read more

I was super excited when I found the rental rates at this location were significantly lower than most of its competitors in the area. On my first visit the staff was very pleasant and professional, and during my tour of the facility everything appeared to be clean and well-kept. Unfortunately, after hauling all my stuff and packing everything away in my unit I came across MULTIPLE cockroaches in and around my unit's area. I immediately notified the front office and while they did state that they occasionally spray the facility with pesticide, I have no way of knowing if anything will actually be done to address the problem. read more

They were freindly and informed us that they would call as soon as they open. We finally got a call back to let us noe that the facilty wasnt 100% ready but they were 100% ready to help us out. Since my interaction was more with Andrea, I will speak/write about her and the facility itself. She is very thorough. Takes her time to explain and answer any questions I had. First thing, the property is very clean and well kept, a little creepy when you're on the floor alone but that's beside the point. When I came to check it out there was a very nice man named Kevin who was very helpful, showed me around, answered all my questions and helped me to decide on this facility to store my things. Then, we went to the office to do paperwork and that's where I met a very condescending, rude, thinks he knows more than all of his coworkers, speaks over them in front of customers, and did I mention RUDE person named Chris. I felt terrible for Kevin because instead of helping him all he did was embarrass him.
